Hey Nick thanks so much for the video! As usual it was awesome! My only nitpick is that the 4.2 in the RS5 is not the B7 4.2 or even the R8 4.2. It's actually the r8 v10 with 2 few cylinders.
from Audi AG: "The Audi RS 5 Coupé uses a high-revving, normally aspirated V8 displacing 4,163 cc. This engine is closely related to the V10 that powers the R8 high-performance sports car." www.fourtitude.com/news/publish/Audi_News/article_5818.shtml
Love your reviews/videos Nick, keep 'em coming. RS5's look really mean and I love this one in white. I just hate the gear stick. Stick's out like a manual one. I love the BMW auto gear sticks a lot more.
Actually the engine, while sharing the 4.2 displacement is all new for the 2013 RS5 and not related to the older 4.2. They basically took the technology they learned from the Audi R8 5.2 V10 and took 2 cylinders out. Otherwise I love your videos, keep it up!
Hope that lost footage turns up one day. I would love to see this car in more detail from your perspective. Speaking of Audis, what are your thoughts on fast wagons/estates like the RS4/RS6 Avant?
That video made me miss NZ. Do you miss driving on the right side of the road? You're constantly reminded that you're driving a special car when you stare at a flat-bottom steering wheel and aluminum side mirrors. That engine growls beautifully.
ashtaron14 I actually find the left side more natural strangely even going up driving on the right. I think it might be because I am right handed and that makes driving stick easer?
Audi cars are my absolute favourite. I own a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta 1.4 twin charged (super and turbo charged) with the 7 speed DSG. So since it shares some essence with the Audi I often times imagine I am driving an Audi. Dream car - RS7. Mostly because I have a wife and 2 children. If I could afford to, an RS5 as well. Just for me and my wife.
Hey nick would you review the corvette c7 manual gear box with Z51 package and compare it with both the 911 and m4. It will really be interesting. And thnx a lot i love your videos :)
What factors led you into buying your M4 over this? Also do you think you would ever re-upload this video should you find the rest of the missing footage from your trip?
Nick, I would love to hear your thoughts on hybrid super and hyper cars like the LaFerrari, and the adoption of hybrid systems as opposed to turbochargers. In my opinion, the use of a KERS system as opposed to a turbo or supercharger can save the integrity of a car. If we look at Aston Martin as an example. Their V12 is inefficient and dirty to the air so I imagine they will drop a few cylinders when their AMG-partnered cars start launching in 2017, however the sound and feel of the V12 and transmission is key to the character of their cars. They could possibly keep their V12 if they added a hybrid system that was always on, they could possibly save their V12 and keep some of that character in whilst giving a huge performance boost. Anyways, I would love to hear your thoughts.
If any of your mates has a Model S performance or BMW i8 that would be interesting for you to compare and contrast with your traditionally powered cars.
Love to listen to the kiwis :) It's just too bad that you screwed up for one of my favourite cars! It was still very enjoyable to watch though... ;) This RS5 is the very last n/a V8s and for that fact alone I'm considering to buy an RS5 convertible. It's the best looking 4-seater convertible on the market, it has a magnificent V8, great S-Tronic transmission, a proper softtop and a nice interior (even if it looks a little dated now). I've had a glacierwhite 2011 S5 convertible and I still love (and miss) that car.
fe1138lix If someone offers one up I will indeed. I am not a big fan however of the RS7/M6GC/CLS63/Panamera heavy weight coupes. Powerful yes, but just too porky.
All the little chrome trimmings on the dash are incongruent. Audi interiors used to be great in design and materials. The materials are still superb, but I question the design.
How is the suspension in terms of firmness vs your M4 or a C63? Is the steering feel too numb in the RS5? Those are my biggest concerns but the AWD in Canada and that sound is winning me over vs a C63 which I can only drive a few months of the year...
Steering is numb compared to an M4, but the sound is much better. Why can't you drive it in the winter? I drive my M4 during the heavy snow months no problem. The biggest problem with the RS5 is that it is so out dated now particularly next to the new C63.
Nick Murray That's what I figured. I live in Northern Alberta though so the roads are not well kept at all and my C63 is a bit too low to the ground, I picture it more as a snowplow than a sports car in the winter... A good set of winters and the M4 is not too bad in heavy snow? And that's my biggest worry, I was considering the 507 Edition but now I might just wait until the next-gen RS5 or C63, although for the Merc the coupe doesn't come out until 2016 I believe?
i really enjoyed your e30 and the rx3 reviews, since those are cars that we rarely get to see.. of course we would like to see your full rs5 review as well but i am "glad" you lost that footage and not the one from the other two. i think audi kind of underpowered the S5 and RS5.. the S5 should actually get this engine and the RS5 should have gotten the bi-turbo V8 from the rs6. it might have been the best daily driver super car money could buy, probably a lot cheaper then a 911 turbo, almost as fast and with more room. its a stunning looking car and i think the "rs" badge should be kept for the bonkers models, the same way merc puts an amg badge only on the most extreme versions possible!
I am sure it has been asked before , but what is your profession (what do you do for a living) ? i tried looking through the comments but could not find the answer. just being curious. thank you.
should have driven it up through the domain hill climb! great car & seems like a good dude also but i can only dream of owning an rs5. next time your back in nz come test drive my rx8 on some proper roads :) not the city!
calvinm 213 The RS5 sounds so much cooler but it is heavy and lacks torque so feels slow in comparison. I really love the look of the RS5 as well. Quattro allows you to leap off the line in any conditions. The M4 needs dry roads for high speed take offs
Nick Murray My friend told me if I really love driving, I should get a BMW instead of an Audi. He said Audis' steering wheel vibrates when you go higher than 70 mph, and Audi cannot do crazy things like BMW do because of the Quattro. Is that true?
calvinm 213 yes this is true to a certain extent, not the vibrating steering wheel that is a load of nonsense but 4WD cars do take away some of the fun of driving I find, still they can be a lot safer as well.
Hopefully this comment doesn't get deleted but Nick I'm really curious as to why you live in the US when imo, there's nothing wrong with New Zealand and Australia (aside from the price of cars).
Really bad place to be test driving coming up through spaghetti junction like that - I think I've been pulled over 3 times "speeding" through there (100 in an 80 zone every time) Stupid Auckland motorways.
I would say that the RS5 is more of a cruiser (slightly softer, quieter Bigger, and somewhat heavier, I like it very much but I'm not sure that would be my sort of car.
Nick Murray It's a 520i with an MSport kit which is why it got the M badge. I guess most owners really want other people to know that they paid an extra $4000 for an factory M aerokit. I though this is very common knowledge.
By the way mate, the dumping fuel into the exhasut for the pop isn't true! A friend of mine recently had the exhaust if his RS5 Changed to an upgraded louder system and from when the exhaust of there's no sign of it dumping fuel in there! Just clearing that up! Great video as allways fella!
"The thing is, small, fast saloons is what BMW does. It´s in their blood. The Mercedes and the Audi are copies. They´re very good copies, brilliant copies. But they are copies nevertheless." - Jeremy Clarkson
Since 1/2 of the people in that car have been with one of your sisters, how bout we get a review of them? Hahaha just playing man. Keep up the sweet reviews
So here's my joke. So three guys are visiting with a psychologist . He listens to each one if them talk about their problems and after a few minutes with each says I think you need a new life perspective, "how about this?" You only have one day left to live what would you do?" First man answers quick, "I'd go to Vegas, sleep with as many women, drink as much as I can, and party the night away". The psychiatrist nods and scribbles a few things, Second man thinks, " I guess I would give all my money to feed the poor and help as many people as I could". Psychiatrist nods and says "That's very noble of you" Third man after a few minutes of deep thought finally says "You know I think I would spend it with my mother in law". The councilor's jaw nearly drops to the floor? "Why? Do you get along that well with this woman?" The man just leans back in his chair kicks his feet up on the table and smiles, "Well the way I see it, if I've only got one day left to live I figure I'd spend it with her because it would be the longest day of my fucking life" :)
So it's 5am UK time and just casually watching some kiwis talking while driving...
What am I doing with my life...
Ha ha yes you need to take stock : )
Hey Nick thanks so much for the video! As usual it was awesome! My only nitpick is that the 4.2 in the RS5 is not the B7 4.2 or even the R8 4.2. It's actually the r8 v10 with 2 few cylinders.

Always good to see you and your friends have succeeded in life with same interests. Must have been happy times :)
Your channel is definitely one of my favs on yt! Keep up the excellent work Nick!
Halfmoon67 Thank you. Glad you enjoy the channel
I have been subscribed for a while but never commented, love your videos Nick, looking forward to the next :)
Conor Sullivan Thanks Conor!
Can you please review a 2015 Subaru WRX STi? Very curious as to your take on this quite unique car.
Love your reviews/videos Nick, keep 'em coming. RS5's look really mean and I love this one in white. I just hate the gear stick. Stick's out like a manual one. I love the BMW auto gear sticks a lot more.
good to see you driven a right hand drive car Nick
Love this vid! RS5 is by far my favorite Audi, hit the money on the color/options i agree! Exactly how I'd get it haha
Farout mate I love your videos, absolutely awesome, have seen your friend Brandons car around in Ponsonby!
RS5 is one of my dream cars
Thanks Nick. I took a buddy of mine's RS 5 to the track last year and almost died. Never forget to turn traction control back on ..lesson learned..lol
Nice!! Hope you got some footage of that
You are my hero Nick haha We both love Star craft 2 and cars!! You should do some star craft 2 tip video!
Actually the engine, while sharing the 4.2 displacement is all new for the 2013 RS5 and not related to the older 4.2. They basically took the technology they learned from the Audi R8 5.2 V10 and took 2 cylinders out.
Otherwise I love your videos, keep it up!
Wellington! I recognized the highway around 9min. Walked over that bridge every day to get to work.
Haha, its actually Auckland. I've been down those roads a few times and I recognized the Kiwi Rail building on their left at one point.
Had a ride in an RS4 and holy shit, it's stonkin!
Nick, if possible it would be awesome if you did a video about all the cars you have owned over the years.
That engine growls beautifully.

hey you've probably said it in another video, but what do you do for a living?
Hey nick would you review the corvette c7 manual gear box with Z51 package and compare it with both the 911 and m4. It will really be interesting. And thnx a lot i love your videos :)
Nick, any chance of you getting hold of and test driving a new Cayman GTS? I'd be interested how you think it compares to your M4?
What factors led you into buying your M4 over this? Also do you think you would ever re-upload this video should you find the rest of the missing footage from your trip?
Nick, if you didn't have any cars, and someone offered to give you, a 911, RS5, M4 or C class (new amg one ofc), what would you take?
which one do you think better to buy like your bmw m4 or this car???
It is good to see the steering wheel on the "correct" side of the car ;)
yep :)
great review keep it up nick, maybe a macan review soon???
Maybe!
Starcraft II, knew you where a nerd! FISTPUMP! :)
he has a zerg decal on his m4 and his 911 had it too.
RS5 vs your red BMW.
Which you prefer when speeding?
nick you should have your own tv show
Are there many nice sports cars like that in New Zealand or does super tax on imports kill them off?
Nick, I would love to hear your thoughts on hybrid super and hyper cars like the LaFerrari, and the adoption of hybrid systems as opposed to turbochargers.
In my opinion, the use of a KERS system as opposed to a turbo or supercharger can save the integrity of a car. If we look at Aston Martin as an example. Anyways, I would love to hear your thoughts.
New Zealand looks pretty nice. im guessing an rs5 would cost an arm and a leg there
The RS 5 has aspherical side mirrors. does your m4 have those mirrors?
What do you do for a living??
Could you review a Toyota Prius? No joke it would be fun to get an idea of how its like driving a Prius after having so many fun and fast cars.
DanielKao111 The horror!
If any of your mates has a Model S performance or BMW i8 that would be interesting for you to compare and contrast with your traditionally powered cars.
I am really interested in review a Model S. I will find one as soon as I can.
Nick Murray it's easy to find a Tesla to test drive www.teslamotors.com/en_AU/events
Love to listen to the kiwis :)
It's just too bad that you screwed up for one of my favourite cars!

Suzanne Feyens Get back in the Fiat 500 of yours : )
I would actually like to have such an old little 500! ...without all the luggage on top of it though... :)
Hey Nick, if you visit Fort Lauderdale, you can re-review my 2014 RS5.
E92 had 414hp no? Maybe it was de-tuned for the US market.
Anyone know what Mr. Murray does for a living?
Just curious...
Nick, could you please review the RS7 one day?
fe1138lix If someone offers one up I will indeed. I am not a big fan however of the RS7/M6GC/CLS63/Panamera heavy weight coupes. Powerful yes, but just too porky.

Take one for a test drive and review it :D
Hey Nick, just wondering, with that whole Porsche deal; did you take your money back or did they replace it with a new one?
Kripple Hippo Money back but they gave me the choice.
Hi Nick, whats hanging from the rare view mirror?
Looks like a dashcam.
the problem with audi is that almost all of their cars look super similar. They need to distinguish the different tiers.
i really enjoyed your e30 and the rx3 reviews, since those are cars that we rarely get to see.. of course we would like to see your full rs5 review as well but i am "glad" you lost that footage and not the one from the other two.

You liked the engine noise and interior. Anything bad in this car? :D How it compares with your new M4?
Valdis Vitols Quite different to the M4 but very similar to the E92 M3. No real bad points.
comment about sisters was hilarious.
do you still have your m4?
so RS5 or M4?
Nick, you still have never explained what your job is. I want to guess IT tech
Gazooo29 yes I work in IT.
should have driven it up through the domain hill climb! great car & seems like a good dude also but i can only dream of owning an rs5. next time your back in nz come test drive my rx8 on some proper roads :) not the city!
So, that back seats CAN fit two adults.
How does the RS5 drive compare to your M4? Also, what is the biggest difference you notice between Quattro and rear-wheel drive?
calvinm 213 The RS5 sounds so much cooler but it is heavy and lacks torque so feels slow in comparison. I really love the look of the RS5 as well. Quattro allows you to leap off the line in any conditions. The M4 needs dry roads for high speed take offs

+Nick Murray Would you take a C63 (the 6.2L one) or an RS5?
What do you think of the RS5 tdi
There are no RS5 diesels...
Nick, what's your favorite race in SCII? lol
Nizar D. Nizar That is a closely guarded secret!
Nick Murray ;)
Hopefully this comment doesn't get deleted but Nick I'm really curious as to why you live in the US when imo, there's nothing wrong with New Zealand and Australia (aside from the price of cars).
Twisted Lifestyle Nothing wrong with NZ or Australia, happy to live all over the world.
It seems you and your friends are pretty successful! That, or in debt!
Really bad place to be test driving coming up through spaghetti junction like that - I think I've been pulled over 3 times "speeding" through there (100 in an 80 zone every time) Stupid Auckland motorways.
Could you review a saab? Just curious...
Which Saab?
Preferably 9-3/9-5 07-11 whatever year/model works for you +Nick Murray
Nick Murray Review any Saab. I just want to hear you say it in your accent
why y selected m4 over RS5? Considering y are a huge fan of RS5
I much prefer RWD over AWD if I get the choice and the M4 is a newer generation of car over the RS5 now. Still the RS5 is awesome.
I would say that the RS5 is more of a cruiser (slightly softer, quieter Bigger, and somewhat heavier, I like it very much but I'm not sure that would be my sort of car.
I said than the E92 cause I still haven't "met" the M4, that's why I said at least
I thought you were a professional sc2 zerg player
That definitely wasn't an E39 M5 @ 8:10? It wasn't clear from the video.
520i
Nick Murray Bleh. Fair enough :-)
Nick Murray
It's a 520i with an MSport kit which is why it got the M badge. I guess most owners really want other people to know that they paid an extra $4000 for an factory M aerokit. I though this is very common knowledge.
STARCRAFT!

Just clearing that up! Great video as allways fella!
so after driving the RS5 do you regret the M4 ?

No, I much prefer RWD over AWD if I get the choice and the M4 is a newer generation of car over the RS5 now. Still the RS5 is awesome.
"Only Brandon and i that haven`t had sex with my sisters" Insert sheep joke now.
I notice on your profile pic you're on a bike, do/did you ride?
Yep I have a death wish. Looking at a 889 at the moment.
Please do a motovlog! (GOPRO mounted on helmet, mic in helmet, just talk)
Since 1/2 of the people in that car have been with one of your sisters, how bout we get a review of them? Hahaha just playing man. Keep up the sweet reviews
why does audi have reverse gear change? (upsift to front, downshift to back)
What league are you?? I'm diamond.
BMW is no comparison to the aggressive engine note of Audi or Mercedes for that matter.
So here's my joke. So three guys are visiting with a psychologist . This or a C63?!
+FRonTLinES10064 as much as I love mercedes i'd go with the audi.
C63 or m4
Awd or rwd
if you were a HUGE audi fan you wouldent be driving a m4 :P
edin cirkic Why not? Can be a huge fan of many brands!
Nick Murray hahah true every brand has its specialness
Noooooo! White. :-(
NOT THE SAME ENGINE
Why does this car sound so rumbly tumbly? Ick.
I like audis but BMW'S are defianetly better!!
Yeah, the M4 is way cooler than this RS5
