Most beautiful car anywhere.I seen the same one 3 times in Portugal.The first time it was parked by a restaurant in Vilamoura,As I left the town on the highway it blew by me and then stopped at a gas station up ahead while I kept going.Soon enough I hear a roar behind me and a seen a red blur as it blew by me once again .I estimated it was going about 220 km/hr.It did this twice.I think it was the same car.Within seconds it disappeared out of site.what a gorgeous machine.

Especially since a 458, for example, is quite a lot cheaper than a 991 Turbo S here in Switzerland. Yes, you read that correctly! It's cheaper! Weird pricing strategy from Porsche... Still like Porsche, but my Italian blood directs me more and more towards the prancing horse. My initials fit better with the Maranello built cars as well... No, I've recently sold my 981, but soon there's a new PDK Boxster in our garage. Although that's not my car.... I'm waiting for a testdrive in the new California T. Very curious about that car, but nice a 1960's Italian sportscar/convertible is also very tempting... Don't know what I'm gonna do....
I like this car a lot because it reminds me of a refreshed Enzo. For someone like me, growing up the Enzo was the car to have, I wouldn't even consider something like a Berlinetta over this one simply because of how different the designs are.
Love the 458. I am seriously considering one as a replacement to my 911, might have a save for a bit longer however.... The detail inside is breathtaking but the real deal maker is the noise and drama. Enjoyed the review mate, keep it up!

***** You know the color was the only thing I struggled with because I did not like any of the colors. It looks great in white, black, silver, grey but I like color in my colors so I never buy white, black, silver, grey cars. That left me with the yellow, blue and orange. The yellow and the blue are just too much for me so the orange it is! Inside Silverstone full leather, all options ticked aside from the sunroof which deletes the CF roof, so you would be crazy to get that.

Nick, it would have been interesting to ask the owner of the 458 what the maintenance costs have been so far. Certainly from what I have heard and read, the cost of maintaining a Ferrari is about 4 times that of a Porsche. Also, great reviews !! Looking forward to the next one on the M4. Yes its an amazing car, I just hired one in Vegas for a few days. so easy to handle and awesome power for road use. The only thing that gave me the shits was the fact it had no clutch. I had a few drags with other cars off the lights, and to tell the truth once it got up and boogied no clutch was not an issue. I was too scared to use the luanch control and got told I wasnt allowed to anyway by the hirer. But it would still have been good to just dump the clutch or even put it in and give it a few revs when crusing down the strip. As you know its hard to put it into nuruel while crusing along and put your foot on the brake to get it back into first. But hey, the car is amazing and if I had the money I would buy one any day. Cads from Australia too.

Ever since your Porsche thing you got lucky man .. this is a sweet gig! Amazing to see that video and then you come to my back yard... I live in Tampa FL area, 30 mins away.. Come on out and take my cts-V out for a bit next time your down you cynical humored bastard! : )
The front looks best as does the back. The 100% side view makes the cabin and roof, well the center, look a tiny bit bulky, but as soon as some degrees are passed the side gets back into the design flow. I loved the looks of a grey 458 spider around Monaco last year. Still just a two seater, so rather a third or forth car, not necessarily a daily driver. I'd probably favor for all weather states a 4WD Porsche Turbo or in those 2 wheel good weather states a Porsche GT3. The rear view onto the engine is of course very special no Porsche can offer. A good alternative to all could be an Audi R8 V10, but then again also just a two seater. For me the Ferrari interior looks not classic enough, a bit to exciting, ab bit too loud and screaming with all the gizmos. Understatement is of course not everybody thing. Conclusively the new BMW I7 is growing on me in that 140.000 Euro range. BMW is not as fast as the Porsche or Ferrari, but boy, is the Ferrari 458 looking stone aged outdated by spec and feature comparison against that BMW glimpse of the future.

I believe this car has a dual mode exhaust and when you put it in race the valves are open at any rpm but in sport they are only open at a certain rpm

Nothing because the first 7 years, regular maintenaince is free..

About getting a Targa? Yes I will be looking at one when the time comes they are pretty awesome and it is nice to have something a little different.
