It's not much different than the fact that phones can have their microphones and video cameras enabled remotely. Even myself, I've had phones that powered themselves back on somehow by itself.
I'd be careful, RFID usually refers to the radio spectrum used for ID cards/contactless payments. You may need something that is blocking all signal commonly referred to as a Faraday Cage, or in this case a Faraday Bag. Though you won't have the use of the phone while it is in the bag but it's good for travel. Ideally you'd want to remove the battery to block any other forms of recording, audio, gyroscope, video, gps, so that it's not transmitted after you regain network signal.

Why put your phone in the RFID bag when if needed, the first time you use it you will pin your location at least once. 2. If your worried about the GOV tracking you then why carry your phone anywhere outside your home?
Something like this is great for people like me who would rather just not have a cell due to all the data harvesting and tracking, but also can't deny that having a cell in an emergency is a lot better than not having one.

Several businesses around here that opened up during the pandemic without 'authorization' were identified using cell phone location data. The feds don't even try to conceal that they use this information any more.

If you use Yelp, google/apple maps, weather, dating apps, Amazon (and countless others) then those apps are tracking you to give you info on the closest deals/dates/traffic/weather/etc. It's useful info when you're in new areas but, when aggregated, it also shows your overall travel history. Since it's all legally obtained data you allowed by using those apps, the companies are allowed to sell your basic data to "help customize your user experience". ONE of the companies that buys up huge chunks of this data is "Fog Data Sciences" and they then sell it to the local/state/federal police who use it for their own reasons... which likely have nothing to do with advertising
