original wolverine vs hulk
😆😆😆I didn't think about that but you are right. Stan Lee, along with Jack Kirby I'm sure, wrote that he based The Incredible Hulk from the Frankenstein monster and Doctor Jekylle and Mr Hyde.
@@wiseguymaybe I can confirm that to be correct. Those were Jack Kirby's visual inspirations for the Hulk as well as a woman who lifted a car with adrenaline strength to save her child.
@@Noname-ut1ye Yup dr Jekkly and Frankenstein’s monster were hulks inspirations and also the women
David Banner Hulk vs. Del Frye Hulk (The First).
Lagosi was offered the role of Frankenstein in the original film but turned it down for lack of speaking parts so Karloff agreed to do it and well the rest is history it shot him to instant stardom.
Before Freddy vs. Jason, there was this.
And then there was King Kong vs. Godzilla, before FvsJ 😎.

No, KKvsG was pretty awesome :).

Classic Universal Monster Movies Are The Best, What Would Halloween Be With Out Them?
Improper Bostonian - I agree with you on that one!!!
So true!
The indestructible Frankenstein Monster and the immortal Wolf Man..still one of the best battles in the history of horror.
They Are Still Under Contract Aren’t They, Think Of The Back Pay 💰 💰 💰 They Are Going To Get 🤣
Just look at that cowardly wolfman. Crawling on top of furniture like a frightened housewife.
🎉@@wrestlingconnoisseurhe was getting set for that leap on Frankie
@@josephvitielo1693 By acting like he had seen a mouse and screaming for his husband to kill it. 😆
@@wrestlingconnoisseurI figured by your handle you would have appreciated his attempt at a lucha libre style😂
What they lacked in special effects they made up for it with tension and drama.
Great stuff
Man, I love the classics.
I love classics too, but I would also like to see a modern version of this.
@@trasegorsuch5140 Van Helsing is about as close as we got
@@trasegorsuch5140 Movies back then were absolutely magical, in storytelling and scope. The beautiful scores were final icing on the cake 🎂. There's no magic or inspiration anymore 😢, seems to be all be political and personal agendas and corporate profit. I've noticed that most movies scores sounds very generic with "NO" heart or emotions. I really want to bringing the back those types of movies that I grew up with ever since I was toddler and younger ages in 2000s era with more "Absolutely Magical", "Storytelling" and "Scope". Even more "Heart and Emotion".
@Mezzy Mez Movies in nowadays are made by algorithms, not people.
Before King Kong vs Godzilla, Freddy vs Jason, and Alien vs Predator, Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman was the most epic crossover ever.
Terminator vs Robocop
R.I.P. Bela Lugosi s.r. & Lon Chaney J.r. ur legacies shall live on forever in your familys
exactly i was wondering who was playing the monster at first but then it was like the bella lagosi for sure
This version Boris Carloff didn’t play Frankenstein
@@TheRon1277 no bela lugosi
I remember my brother and I watching this as kids waiting for the big confrontation through the whole movie. When the Wolfman was straining at his straps at 0:53 we were rooting/yelling like mad for him to break free so the fight could start! All these years later I'm still doing it!!

Frankenstein's Daughter Meets The Wolf Man
(I'd like to know what you think of this)
@@christopherstrickland1363 Has promise. Perhaps Son of the Wolfman instead ? :)
Both are awesome
As many times as I've seen this classic, I was still doing the same thing while this clip was playing lol
Bela Lugosi as the Frankenstein Monster...holy shit Lugosi is a true horror legend.
Lon Chaney has played Frankenstein,Dracula and the Wolfman as did lugosi also being the werewolf that bit Chaney in the original Wolfman.
As well as Chaney. Lon was the only one that played 4 iconic monsters including the Mummy. Christopher Lee did Dracula ( the best ) Frankenstein and also the Mummy along with Boris Karloff who also was a Horror classic legend.
What a stiff he was as the monster. Literally
Bela Lugosi was the best Dracula, Boris Karloff was the best Frankenstein!
Bela also played a great egor in son of frankenstein and ghost of frankenstein such classic actors back then
One of the original movie crossovers
Same with King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962). Toho Company Ltd movie monster "Godzilla" and RKO Pictures/Universal Studios movie monster "King Kong".
Next godzilla vs king kong, puppet master vs demonic toys
I think this is the first ever cinematic crossover
I remember a book saying the wolf man was no match in this movie but it was a more even fight when I actually saw it.. Frank was stronger but my man was getting
takedown after takedown...my personal favorite Universal horror film. The perfect Halloween movie!
The wolfman would never have given up!
They should have done a Frankenstein vs Creature from the Black Lagoon Movie
@InTheseGoingsDown
The strength of Frankenstein's monster versus the agility of the werewolf. I'd say it was a draw! I would also like to have seen Frankenstein's monster fighting a vampire, though he would need to know how to kill one. The monster's strength might have enabled him to fight off a vampire, but he wouldn't have been able to kill one unless he had the necessary knowledge.
I would give it to Frankie on a close but unanimous decision...
As the scene went on Frankenstein caught on and started backing up when the Wolfman came at him
*Frankenstein advantages:*
- Strength
- Durability
- Reach
*Wolfman advantages*
- Speed
- Intellect
- Claws and teeth
- Agility
*I’d give it to Wolfman 6/10*
The monster had the brain of igor in it and he went blind and could talk. yet in this film and all those that follow the monster never speaks or acts at all like igor and can see??
@@robertpreston2220 I know you referring to the end of "Ghost", but you're saying all the other sequels stayed true to continuity of how he died in the previous episode?
Nah I’d say Frankenstein’s Monster also has the intellect advantage simply because the Wolfman is more of a feral animal.
@@robertpreston2220
The monster has Abby Normal's brain. Just to be fair.
@@289cobra9 what do you mean?
My favorite out of all the monsters, (Frankenstein monster, Wolfman, Dracula, The Mummy and The Creature From the Black Lagoon) is the Wolfman. As far as the Frankenstein monster and the Wolfman, the Frankenstein monster was bigger and stronger, but the Wolfman was quicker and more agile and more animalistic.
The look on Wolfman's face. Wolfman was like WTF! 2:25 This nigga strong as hell!
That scene was my favorite part from that film. It’s awesome watching two famous monsters battle each other.
As the wolf man vs. Dracula in A and C meet Frankenstein!
Frankenstein meets the Wolfman
This was my favorite. Great scene. Love this oldie but goodie.
Imagine if Hollywood remake this.
I'd go see it, though it might not be like the original.
If a remake of this was to be made within the 1990's or 2000's, along with having the monster speak, I sure can imagine what choice of words the monster would have during the battling climax with the Wolfman!!
He'd probably curse 10 times more than Joe Pesci did in any gangster wiseguy roles!!!!!!
If they remade this they would have Andy Serkis playing the Frankenstein Monster via motion capture
It Should Be Better
Plz make Frankenstein move better then this, I'm just saying. Boris Karloff move a lot fast then this version.
Classic brute strength vs nimbleness. Those old school filmmakers, and story tellers knew what they were doing.
Movie analysts often put down Lugosi's performance as the Frankenstein monster. Sure, Karloff is the original and the best, but Lugosi is genuinely frightening here conveying the intensity of the monster's anger. I believe this film originally had a scene where Chaney as Larry Talbot is sitting with the monster and conversing with him, but it was edited out because of Lugosi's strong Hungarian accent.
cuz igor's brain went into the monster's skull in ghost of frankenstein
@@joecrow5484 You're right. They should have left those talking scenes in the movie - it would have made perfect sense.
I guess they thought some people wouldn't have seen or remembered Ghost of F. and would laugh at "Dracula"s" voice in the monster's body - LOL..
@@movierun ikr. back then, audiences didnt care much for continuity/consistency unlike today.
Reportedly, his Hungarian accent was so strong that it made the crew/test audience burst out laughing, which wasn't good since it was supposed to be a serious scene.
@@Grandmaster_Dragonborn Yeah, that's what I read some where. They initially had the monster talking, but those scenes were cut because they were thought humorous, and they didn't want humor in a horror movie. I didn't know it was his hungarian accent that made it funny, but that would explain it.
The wolfman just kept coming at frankie
You mean the monster
Not at all. The Frankenstein Monster was not only an undead monster, but he had the strength of 100 men, according to Frankenstein movie lore. There’s a good reason why the Frankenstein Monster was also known as the Undying Monster. He was the climax of Dr. Frankenstein’s genius AND ultimate destruction. The Wolf Man couldn’t do anything whatsoever to the Frankenstein Monster, not even on his best day. The Monster kept tossing his furry ass around like some rag doll. Lol. When a monster like the Frankenstein Monster has the strength of 100 men, there wasn’t another monster alive, be it Dracula, Wolf Man, Mummy or Creature From The Black Lagoon that could do anything with the Frankenstein Monster in a fight. Nothing at all. They said numerous times in Frankenstein Monster movies that he could only be killed off artificially - by draining off his energy. Makes sense, especially since he was created artificially.
Stormbringer2012 Uh oh! Uh oh!! Uh oh!!! Fight! Fight!! Fight!!! 😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥
Roderick Redus: Apologies I meant that for the other guy
Stormbringer2012 Oh, you’re good, my dude! I was just hoping for a fight. That yo-yo was trying to impress me with his werewolf knowledge. As if I really gave two fucks. 😂😂
I gotta give credit to Bela Lugosi and Lon Chaney Jr for the fight scene, although they didn’t really fight a lot it was still a fun fight that led to King Kong vs Godzilla, Freddy vs Jason and Alien vs Predator
Personally I think this would’ve been a more interesting fight if it was Dracula fighting the Wolfman
It wasent them it was stunt doubles or so i heard
@@mogensschmidt2498 True. I've seen stills of the stunt monster.
Look at the monster's face during all of the actual action, it's not Bela. I have no idea if the wolf man is actually Chaney, it's hard to tell under all that fur. Only a few close up shots of the monster were actually Legosi, the guy was over 60 years old by this point, he couldn't handle a fight scene.
alien vs predator sucked ass
Lon Chaney Jr. as the Wolfman and Eddie Parker, Gil Perkins and Bela Lugosi as the Frankenstein monster!
RIGHT! and you can so see it in todays HD and 4K tvs. Great scene though.
they should really properly remake this into a shared universe and have it BE HORROR NOT ACTION ADVENTURE SHIT like we got with The Mummy with Tom cruise, these are horror films, if there gonna remake the universal monster films they need to do it right, perfect example would be 2010’s The Wolfman and that masterpiece Bram Stoker’s Dracula the Francis Ford Coppola film from 1992. Those films are genuinely creepy and had grotesque transformation and was at some points scary, the atmosphere was great. I honestly think it would be great if they remade the universal monster films, but only if it’s done right. And IT MUST take place in the late 1800’s and the 1900’s, these stories don’t work as well in a modern setting. Either way if we never get a remake it wouldn’t really matter because we already got the original classics and there perfect masterpieces of cinema
This fight was unfair. Frankenstein was charged up to full capacity fighting The Wolfman.
LOL , i agree
Frankenstein was also blind from previous movie why walking around with his hands outstretched to feel his way around.
@studlygrish. Actually the Frankenstein monster was not fully recharged with energy when he fought the Wolfman in "Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman" (1943) because Baroness Ilsa Frankenstein (played by Ilona Massey) pulls the switch/lever against Dr.Mannering's warning causing the explosion in the laboratory before Dr. Mannering had finished recharging the monster.
Well, the Wolfman can't die unless by silver.
Unfair fight...what?!?!?! The wolfman was able to knock frankenstein off his feet at least 4 times,in that fight. He had a fair shot and his own advantages.
It’s a shame that the real villain survives, which is the idiotic Doctor that just had to see the Frankenstein creature at full power.
Lol ikr?!
curiosity often does get the better of people
Wolfman was completely outclassed by Frankenstein. Old Frank was simply too strong for him
0:39 not me chanting for The Wolf Man to break free of the straps so the fight can start
It was Beast saved the Beauty from the Monster.
The first Cinematic Universe!
The stunt guys that did this, incredible!
Mostly Gil Perkins and Eddie Parker.
I agree, the stunt guys performance was better than Lugosi. But in Dracula, you can't beat Lugosi, at that time.
@@obie2082 You can tell that isn't Lugosi when the monster gets off the table. Only Lugosi in the closeups.
No doubt this will always be a classic. First time ever two poplar characters met in a crossover. The crossover that started crossovers. Would like to see a reboot be made now a days
Hollywood of today would ruin it.

Too bad that the Frankenstein monster didn't see Larry Talbot change into the Wolf Man,who would've been cured if Dr. Frank Mannering didn't have a change of heart and decided to give Frankenstein's creation more power than take it from him. The monster wasn't smart enough to know the Wolf Man is Talbot by the clothes he was wearing.

The Frankenstein monster had gone blind in an earlier movie that was why he walked around with his arms out stretched to feel his way around.
It was in "The Ghost of Frankenstein" when the blind Ygor's brain was transplanted into the Monster, so he ended up with Bela's voice but was still blind. It also kind of explained how the Monster was now played by Bela, though I believe he had lost the ability to talk. Of course, Bela had famously declined to play the Monster in 1931 because he didn't want to wear the makeup. Film history was better for it, because he never could have imbued the Monster with the humanity that Boris did, imo.
If the fight had gone all night between these two Frankenstein would’ve beat the hell out of Larry when he changed back
Only 1 of is Frankenstein and the other 1 is Wolfman

It scary how much stronger Frankenstein was but Wolfman got the last takedown. So I’ll give it to him!

Keep in mind Frankenstein’s monster in the book is 8ft tall. This fight would’ve been completely different if Frankenstein’s monster was bigger.
or smaller...duh
What if Frankie was a dwarf...
Not necessarily; Frank being bigger would have made him stronger and more durable, but make him more vulnerable to Wolfman’s attacks than he already was, and he’d struggle to simply touch him.
I love Bela Lugosi, but I think this would have been better it Glen Strange was the Frankenstein Monster
Strange had the size that Lugosi didn't have.

@@besteverepicmillennial5927 yep i didnt say u didnt know
As much as this score is recycled through the Monsters franchise it works to really great effect in this scene, too many times in other films it feels out of place with the action going on but it's spot on here, I especially love the section at 1:07
I agree
I know this is pointless but I'll ask anyway. What reason does the Wolf Man attack Frankenstein, what did he ever do to him? Btw that was a nice tackle from behind when he grabbed him.
Wolfman said that was his woman Frank was carrying away
Wolfmans a pretty violent creature, doesn’t he just sort of attack anyone in sight due to a primal bloodlust?
I love this version of Wolfman. Fully clothed, with even his shirt still tucked in, but utterly savage.
One my favorite monster movies growing up. Remember watching it on Shock Theater. 😊
Michael I also saw this on shock theater in the L A market on channel 5 in the late 1950s and was 1960s . This is the film that got me to love the monster moves (which has never left me) and as I got older ,to love and respect the classic films of the 30s, 40, 50s and 60s.
OK people need to stop putting there arms straight like this version of Frankensteins Monster (2:11). Go back and watch Frankenstein (1931), Boris Karloff never did that with his arms!!!
The only reason he did it in this one is because he became blind at the end of ghost of Frankenstein.
@@henith7850 Ture, ture but again fans need to watch, Boris Karloff's Frankenstein way more.
This was after Ghost of Frankenstein where the monster went blind.
@@hydrolito I’m talking about how he Moves! Boris Karloff did not put his arms and walk slow?
And thus in 1943 the King of Monster battles was born! I watch this movie every year around Halloween and will continue to do so until my dying day. Such a classic! One thing I do wonder though. What would this scene be like if the Frankenstein monster talked? For those that don't know. Originally this movie would follow the continuity of "Ghost of Frankenstein" where Igor's brain is in the monster's head. And thus he's blind, but can also speak. That's why his arms are outstretched. Because he's blind. Eventually they scrapped the speaking stuff for more monster growls and such. But I do wonder what Igor would have said during this fight with the Wolfman. Oh, well. I suppose it'll be one of those great Hollywood mysteries.
The script with all the cut dialogue has survived. It''s in one of those Universal film books by Philip Riley.
Wolfman was gettin with him though. He didn't back up one step. He was still on the attack when the flood came!
I didn't realize this movie until I saw the book of it in the Library of my High School. I am not surprised that we didn't get a winner since both Frankenstein and The Walf Man were both killed off during their fight
THE WOLFMAN DOESN'T HAVE A CHANCE . IN ORDER TO KILL FRANKIE, YOU HAVE TO DISASSEMBLE HIM .
King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) and Godzilla vs. Kong (2020) are my favorite crossover giant monster films features both Godzilla and King Kong from their own movie franchises, both live in different countries (Japan and America). RKO Pictures/Universal Studios movie monster "King Kong" and Toho Company Ltd movie monster "Godzilla". Godzilla is owned and created by Toho Co. Ltd while King Kong was created by Merian C. Cooper and Edgar Wallace.
Before King Kong vs Godzilla
So befor MCU the universal monsters created the shared universe?
Before Batman VS. Superman, Alien VS. Predator, Freddy VS. Jason, and King Kong VS. Godzilla, there was Frankenstein's Monster VS. the Wolfman. The ORIGINAL monster mash.
I always loved this fight and the reason I am okay that it is short is that the film isn’t called Frankenstein (the monster) vs the wolf man. It was called Frankenstein (the monster) meets the Wolf man so it wasn’t false advertising and also, it’s a really good movie aside from the timeline not matching up well with the other movies but that is a thing all of these movies had and you can still piece together a continuity and I love it anyway.
Also, I don’t mind that the monster now can’t talk even though it’s ygors brain for one reason. The reason he went blind is because he didn’t have the right blood so maybe, him having the wrong blood also started affecting his mind to the point where he lost his memories and ability to speak.
Who would Win
The Creature From The Black Lagoon or The Mummy?
I made a trivia question of who won this fight and I provided the ending clip
When Chaney or his stuntman climbs the platform. He looks around and climbs up higher and leaps off. Just like SuperFly Snuka on Bob Backlund 40 years later. Hum......
As James Rolfe would say, it seems that a part of Larry Talbot still existed inside the Wolf Man.
The scientist was a fool to give frankenstein's monster more power rather than weaken him when he was also supposed to help Larry Talbot be cured of turning into the Wolfman, which in this instance was necessary for Talbot to save Frankenstein's granddaughter, who was being carried by the monster and no telling what it would do to her in private.
azure rainbow It’s funny though that the Wolf Man wasn’t even concerned about saving her. All he was thinking about at that moment was tearing the Frankenstein Monster apart. You could see the rage and murder in the Wolf Man’s eyes even when he was still strapped to that table. He had that I’m going to fuck you up as soon as I break free. 😂😂😂 Loved that fight sequence though. A true classic!
Not exactly Ali vs Frazier but a monster throwdown what a beef.
Where's Dracula during all this.
Too bad Boris Karloff had to retire from the Frankenstein role after Son of Frankenstein due to his age and health, since he played it best,Bela Lugos was great as Dracula character but wasn't the best choice to play the Frankenstein monster.
One of the best scenes in the movie is when they're gypsies are singing, and they sing to Larry Talbot you will live eternally. Then he flips out saying Eternal why do you say that to me? I don't want to live eternally!
Yes, I watch that you tube once every couple days, even the zip cover.
Epic and classic, but would've been better if it was Karloff playing Frankenstein again.

Frankenstein was at his full strength, if it wouldn't for that things might have been a little different
Before Hulk vs Wolverine...there was this...
Both would be thinking.."This fucker is strong!"
They say only a silver bullet can kill the Wolfman. I wonder what would happen if Frankenstein tore all his limbs off and then decapitated him? Would his torso continue to fight?
The Universal Wolf Man is explicit immortal and supernatural. Even silver only put him in coma, basically.
So, Probably his limbs can't be ripped, or he will regenerates as the Wolfman in monster squad, or like Wolverine or Deadpool
@@fernandasanchezayala7841if Monster Squad from 1987 is any indication, he would just regenerate by forming back together

The meeting of two screen legends.
Bela Lugosi vs Lon Chaney jr.
I loved this movie so much as a child. Yes, even then I thought their battle was cut way too short by the dam getting blown up but I still loved this movie so much. My favorite was the Frankenstein monster. Now, as an adult, if they remade this movie and tried to keep it sort of believable, the Werewolf would have to be the winner because he is supernatural. The monster is scientifically enhanced for sure, but the wolfman is, for all practical purposes, unkillable by the monster. The savagery of the werewolf would shred the monster's flesh with his claws and teeth. Now, perhaps they could give the monster a sense of more intelligence where he could communicate with a trusted human who could help him understand how to kill the werewolf. The monster could then use his extreme strength to get closer and kill the wolfman with what ever silver weapon he had available. Other than that, both the Wolfman and a vampire would out power the monster because they are supernatural.
No way my friend. The Wolfman could NEVER get that close to do that l Every time he would get close he would get thrown around or choked, Frank had no fear of wolfy and actually seemed to laugh at him with his much superior strenght. Yes. the wolfman had speed but he NEVER would have stayed close to Franky to do any real damage. The closer he would get the more he would get thrown around and abused.
