- The best player in the world won the most important Goat Format tournament in the world with a surprising take on "Chaos Turbo." Congratulations to Anthony Alvarado on his 1st place finish at Goat Format Worlds 2024.
Love this breakdown and watched the worlds live. Had fun watching the burn run too and would love to see you cover that archetype at some point! I’ve always been confused at night assailants place in turbo but your analysis helped me understand 🙏👍
Book of moon defends and extends your plays!
Your insights are greatly appreciated and helpful. I've been making sure to side Book of Moom because of them.
Such a great breakdown! ❤
It's crazy that in classical chess, which takes astronomically more skill to play at the highest level than yugioh goat format does, the top players in the world (> 2750 Elo) are so good that they must be able to play every opening very well and cannot afford to choose an objectively inferior opening just because it suits their play style better; while, on the other hand, individual strenghts/weaknesses are somehow a deck building factor at the highest level of goat
Individual strengths and weaknesses still play a role in chess. You look at a guy like Bobby Fischer, who was so good at end games for his time that he would often not agree to a draw in spots where other players would because he knew that his opponent was more likely to blunder a theoretically drawn end game than he was.
Congratulations to the man that won it BUT as someone that played during that time when i see this list all i can think is that the players that played in the tournament haven't practice a lot with the goats card pool. its unreal that this list managed to win it. Your opponents must constantly hit baits/bluffs and you still will need a LOT of luck to win a big tournament with this list. for me this list is a 6/10 .
2x book was a good meta call for worlds, as it seems goat control typically has a bigger presence in this event. In general bom is of course a solid choice.
Shoots are a bit surprising to not main, but not mandatory by any means.
Kinda weird logic to not play them based on a %% of field not being chaos, as the further into event you get, the more they become relevant, as the better decks will perform better on average.
I'd def consider at least 1-2 in main for an event like this, but whatever. Just glad Ant took it down!!
What deck is the best goat forkat deck would you say ?
Library ftk?
Literally been running same deck for years. It’s just gone full circle
What does he do if he vs Burn or Empty Jar?
Two cards very unpopular in a worlds tourney. Burn swap upstarts for wok probably and empty jar probably mirror snatch and books for Dustshoot and mind con
I played Burn 3 times at Worlds. One Drain burn and 2 Panda burns. Woks and Saku for the most part. The speed gets me to the s/t removal. The Metamorphosis helps vs Nightmare Wheel and getting attributes to the gy. Also access to Senshi and Balter.
There was no projected empty jar in the field but typically, Dustshoot, metamorphosis for Balter, goats to play around Shallow Grave, etc. Ideally i would have an extra Raigeki Break in the side deck if Empty Jar was projected. Interrupting cards like Solemn.
"each deck has 3 copies of every legal fusion monster" - could you explain that to me or give me a reference? I never heard of that before? Or do you just refer to online games?
In goat format 2005, there were no restrictions irl or online for the "Fusion deck". Players could legally have 3 copies of all fusions. Restrictions were introduced later on.
It's just a rule of the game. The 15 card extra deck wasn't introduced until the release of synchro monsters in 2007. Prior to that point in time, it was called the "fusion deck" and had no limit. goatformat.com explains it all pretty well if you're still confused.
Trap dustshoot is a dead draw
Gamble is open hand or dead draw
whats ur opinion on no premature?
Chaos doesn’t run it since they’re banishing so much from their grave. Pre is basically required in aggro decks though.
Man, sad i dint discover this channel before, i quit yugioh in 2010, tried to come back and learn the new rules and formats, in my opinion (my opinion dont get moist) new yugioh is kind of trash.
why not yata garatsu to draw 2 sometimes?
Because it isn’t legal in goat.
It's not a legal card.
Incredible based
Funny how years ago people gave me shit for saying Solemn Judgement shouldnt be played in Chaos decks. Glad to know I was right.
still wrong, Ant sides solemns in tons of tournaments. He posted a generic list after this and it had 3 solemns in the side. This was timed and there weren't as many warriors
Play one copy in chaos is not bad at all. You could hold it for a game shot or for a topdeck Duel, but Chaos don’t really need this card. What Chaos makes so strong is the constancy of getting card advantage card advantage and lower chances for a brick.
@@imalwaysbluffing that just further proves that he's siding Solemns for random decks and is not needed in Chaos mirrors.
Solemn is for DFT and warriors but AA didn't expect it during the worlds tournament
@@justinspivey6543 yes in those matchups its understandable because Warriors play Solemn so you want your own Solemns to answer their Solemns and Solemning Dimension Fusion or some other blowout card can save you the game but what are you gonna Solemn in Chaos Mirror? A Chaos Sorc? Totally not worth.
Great video. Legacy of Yata-Garasu should be played over Jar of Greed, though.
It's not a legal card.
@@GoatDuels It came out in Nightmare Troubadour in July, should be legal before Cybernetic Revolution in August
@@Azkadaz No, it didn't. It wasn't released until October 2007 in Premium Pack 1. Nightmare Troubadour's promo cards were the Silent Magicians and Magician's Circle.
Not a Legal card mate only Legal in Edison
