Have used this for probably 4-5 years. I have a whole shelf full of products I just don't use any more. It seemed too good to be true before I tried it! It is just phenomenal. I do 3 layers 45 mins apart and it is unbelievable. Glass, trim, everything. Even better the next day after everything completely crosslinks. This stuff is an absolute no brainer. Nice review!
I have been using Ultima Paint Guard Plus for 8 yrs. Works great , I never apply in the sun. I also use the product on all light lenses, glass and any black plastic areas. I agree the feel is slick. What I like is how easy it is to apply. My car always looks like it just came from the showroom.
I've been using Duragloss Aquawax, and have been very happy with It's longevity and slickness over the past three months. I also use their 111 Clear Coat Polish which is a pure sealant.. I'm done chasing.
@@HawkProDetailing You've got to try this one. Very similar to Optimum Car wax but I feel it does a better job as a drying aid. The durability actually blew me away for a spray wax applied while wet.
@@HawkProDetailing - Absolutely. And to your point, some of the legacy products more than delivered - without the benefit of "flash in the pan" hyping.
It really is great. I found out about Ultima from Scott at Dallas Paint Correction. Also, before Billy Baugus started American Detailer Garage and designed Wipeout (amazing rinseless wash) he used Ultima's waterless wash product (a rinseless wash but also branded as something you can use without water).
I use this stuff 9 years ago. Great gloss and protection. applicators had to be thrown away after use because the original formula was an acrylic sealant. you could see it flashing with every pass. gloss becomes insane after the 3rd coat(24hrs apart)
I have yet to try this one, but I have been using Ultima's Waterless Wash Plus for years now and it is KILLER! You should definitely try that next!!! This reminds me a lot of Meguiar's Fast Finish, which I also love!
@@HawkProDetailing Great on Glass! I use UWW+ in a huge pump sprayer and zip around my whole car with a bunch of towels in about 20 minutes. I do this when I just want to get a light film of dirt off the car. I was quite surprised with the protection capabilities too. It may have been boosting whatever sealant I had on there, but the beads were super tight.
Lol. Nick I’m done trying new products. I promised myself I would use and dramatically reduce all the sealants, waxes, apcs, dressings, all of it to just 10 products or less.
I'm doing the same thing! I've narrowed it down (if customer doesn't want ceramic coating) to jescar power lock since it looks AMAZING and fills scratches as my "go to" sealant. OR paint guard plus-since it's so easy to apply and works great on chrome and glass. Don't throw away money but next time you see autogeek with a 25 percent off sale... maybe this goes in the shopping cart:)
I agree too many dang products. I’m just getting into sealants. I love to wax my cars can you top this with anything or would it be useless. What did you use to prep the paint?
Once a ceramic coating has cured -- I would give it a month or so to be safe -- you can absolutely apply this after a wash as a "topper" whenever you want...
Hey, great video and I've loved using PGP on a brand new black F150 for a couple of months. Come spring I'm thinking of doing a layer or two of this with Collonite 845. Is this overkill and am I losing out on anything or is that maybe a decent way to go?
You can't go wrong man...all I'm gonna say is there are so many good products out there. If you feel like spending all of your money...go keep buying the next greatest thing lol. If you're getting results and you're happy...I think you have the answer. I've never tried colonize but it seems to be a classic product
Great product !!! I was fortunate enough to be one of the ones to test the Ultima line when it was first released like 12 years ago. They even put my 350z on the bottle :)
Awesome!! What's their deal anyway? Products like this are excellent and yet...they don't really market like the other big dogs lol. I'm glad to hear you are a true OG lol
Just applied a couple coats of UPGP to a black truck in my garage. Kind of felt like I was doing it blind, very difficult to see the product going on. Next time in the sun.
I love a scangrip headlamp for dark situations. Less than $100 and rechargeable....I have link in description...did you properly wash and clay first? They say it's a true wipe on and walk away.....but I like a quick dry pass with my microfiber towel after I crosshatch it into paint with applicator...
I used carpro eraser to do a wipedown but no I didn't use a clay bar. The truck is only a couple months old, maybe next time. Gonna add I could see it go on a window so I'm sure it was going on just fine. I'll check out that light. 👍
ultima is good right? it's almost like they have their own thing going and don't get all wrapped up in the rat race of marketing. they know their stuff is legit and they are fine where they are at in the marketplace....or at least that's my take:)
I think it was having to sacrifice an applicator or towel with every use and the fact that it didn't pop until the 2nd coat that cooled its popularity. people back then didn't embrace synthetic layering as carnauba was still king. it was just double the work
I remember the first year everyone complained about waiting a whole day to do a second coat. ultima changed the formula so only 45 minutes between coats.
@James O'Brien Well Beadmaker when u apply to bare paint requires a lot of product. They actually recommend to apply that way. They say to spray a lot to each panel until you seeing the product strating to run down the panels and if you work in a really humid environment then u must use more.
I hear ya! Trust me when I say it lasts forever. But I gotcha. Too much damn stuff to buy anyway...for whatever it's worth I thought the same thing before I bought it the first time.

It's so good! A lot of hype out there with new products but this stuff is fantastic and I feel like stands the test of time 🤙

ultima waterless wash is amazing. how is it on glass? that's why I prefer wipeout because it is such a fantastic glass cleaner

Hawk Pro Detailing I agree on the powerlock. Wipes off ez. I’m still just a big fan of megs xwax. I use it on interiors too and it smells good.
it does have a nice smell. I like it for door jams too
I have been using their rinseless and paint guard for a year and love it more than ONR!
nice! so much gloss right?!
I use and like it. A little goes a long way. So far, durability is good. Super easy to use.
That's what I love about it. Easy to use, awesome gloss

Better than the $6 turtle wax seal and shine?
for sure! better gloss and slickness. THAT MUCH BETTER? shoot I don't know. might need a comparison video:)

I can't find their car wash soap anymore. Stuff is great.

Too expensive. I can buy a gallon of Beadmmaker for that.
