Whatever I think about Penual, shout out to DJ Sbu for not interrupting Pen and listening actively to what he's saying. I wouldn't have managed. However not following the crowd doesn't mean you doing the right thing.

I don't agree. The Virtual Mkhukhu (Penuel - Dj Sbu) is the best combo to ever happen in this SA podcast world. Their uniqueness creates a new, interesting energy. (we must just pray that DJ Sbu doesn't get captured by this random, rootless publicity stunts)

This Penuel situation is an important case study on the dynamics of independent media/podcasters. A couple of weeks ago he was trending for being on the Podcast and Chill, but today Mac G practically called him a sellout in front of his 700k subscribers. These are the unintended consequences of "free speech" in an unregulated public platform. The same subscribers can easily turn against you and initiate cancellation campaigns. At this rate, the podcast space is heading for regulation because people are too irresponsible to be left on their own. These might be the early stages of the demise of this industry. It was fun while it lasted. UA-cam is already flagging certain words, and this industry is falling everyday.
Why do you feel the need to police free speech? free speech like everything else has consequence and we the people are willing to take responsibility for those consequences. There's no need to force people no to speak their minds, UA-cam already has enough content moderation( "regulation") what you're asking for is tyranny and quite frankly people like you need to be dealt with decisively before they spread totalitarian ideas in our country.

Cyberbullying is growing tremendously, and many podcast and their content creators are stepping on people's rights in the name of free speech. Mac G made references to Penuel that can negatively impact his reputation and subscriber base. Look at what happened to Lulo? His nudes were splashed all over the Internet because of an irresponsible so-called independent content creator. I can make a lot of examples of how these independent content creators are going to get themselves regulated. Lastly, if you read my comment properly, you will find that I took no position on the matter. Unfortunately, you seem to think with your emotions

There's already a legal framework for hate speech, defamation and revenge porn in our country, and UA-cam have their on content moderation systems in place. Podcasts are not media companies in reality they're just influencers UA-cam is a social media platform and UA-cam is a media company and everyone else is just an USER of the platform and our government should regulate just the media company not it's users.

Those people were not part of Afriforum and DA is run by white liberals and one thing you should know that white liberals are the most racist. Someone who is open by saying I want to keep my own for my people to preserve my culture is not a racist.
I've always thought that someday if & when SA becomes a prosperous country, we should have a Nationwide DNA testing campaign. People can voluntarily do the test. We've been a multiracial country for almost 400yrs. Penuel is not a one off, fact is most but not all black South Africans are fully black. A lot of people would be surprised by what comes up.
Even vice versa with the whites, some look very mixed as well.

Pen is a student of life and big up to him for bravely going on a journey of discovery. It's OK to try things out and form an opinion from experience.... That said, whilst the criticism that most black organizations get is justified in some cases (indeed the unions can and should do more than simply limiting themselves to work issues), its always sad when well informed people simply adopt the common media narrative. Surely, there's numerous black organizations doing brilliant things to uplift black people...from caregivers in rural communities to NGOs involved in various positive initiatives in education, agriculture etc. so to keep heaping praise on Afriforum and white people is a bit lazy. It's actually part of the white agenda to spread a defeatist mindset on blacks and its disappointing when someone with a voice and platform like Penuel does that, even if he's at pains to suggest he isn't a leader (so what are the viewers and followers subscribed to his channel and content?)

We have a funny relationship with white people. We literally trust them with everything, our livelihoods, our kid's education, food and clothing, and even with our private and personal data. We literally buy and consume white or black through white platforms, and yet every chance we get we trash and tarnish anything that seemingly promotes or highlights white progress. We have a lot to learn from them as far as how they organize, manage and run their businesses and communities and that's not to say we abandon our own ways by any stretch of the imagination but we have an added advantage because of our differences.
We always say "Stay positive and rid yourself of everything that's negative" but we're always so negative and angry with white people and they also apply the same notion of trying to rid negativity in their lives hence they live in the far-flung areas away from black people and now we're here. We need to ask ourselves how is it that we're the only nation that has this negative relationship with white people. Obviously, this is just an opinion, I'm only one person with a controversial view perhaps.
