Great video! Thanks for the upload. I replaced the entire gearbox in my girlfriends 500 as it was constantly causing issues. She loves the car otherwise. At least they are relatively easy to work on and the diagnostic/EOBD leads and software easy to source. Seeing it all dismantled is very interesting. These are complicated little things with a lot inside to potentially go wrong.
@@andrewthompsonuk1 I've always driven manual cars personally for this very reason. So much simpler and far more reliable. You still have to compete with DMFs but otherwise they are so much easier to fix if they do go wrong! All of these valves, solenoids and actuators (not even mentioning the electronics required to control it) is almost like 'black magic' and a miracle it works at all. Let alone when the car has 100,000 miles on it and is 12 years old.

Everything else seems good in parameters clutch plate and index etc just this issue Could it be gear sensor related maybe Thanks
Hello, It is quite long video, would you give and idea how much the cost is involed to refurb salespeed gear over buying off the shelf to stick on car with warranty and reprogram or calibration with diagnostic tool. Thanks
very nice well explained . do you need to remove gearbox out or can just remove Selespeed Sequential actuator from gearbox still left on engine? now when can you do one for Renault Master MK3 it costs a fortune to have it done by professionals . have no idea where to purchase all seal kits
Thanks for sharing! I was wondering by chance do you know what an issue would be for the transmission. All other gears work except for the reverse. It sounds like the gear moves into reverse but when in reverse it doesn’t move. Everything else is normal. Thank you!
There is no parts or mechanics that know anything about the selespeed system so doing the conversion from selespeed 6 to a manual 6 speed will make more sense here in my country

Hi. I need your help. I am from Greece and i have a Lancia Musa 2006 mj 1.3 diesel automatic engine code 188A9000. Sometimes ussualy when the engine is cold car gives me an error "GEARBOX FAILED" for 2 seconds on the screen and the dissapaired. this can happen once a day or once on 3 days. When error pops up car works fine. I dont see eny difference. On OMD error says P1742. Car is working fine till now.I need your help please. Thanks in advanced.
@@LMAutoRepairs After some days watching the problem i see that message pops up when car is in 2nd gear and wont go to 3d until message disappear. Then it works fine. Same when car is in 2nd and going to 1st. Can you help please. Thanks in advanced.

Could be the gearbox itself... clutch... difficult to tell...

That code usually refers to one of the gear position sensors.... check connections, wiring, etc, ultimately might needs replacing...
