They were not just games but parts of our lives and childhood, remarkable and unforgettable memories. What an amazing channel you have friend, will keep my eyes out for your future post and content as I absolutely adore the retro games although I play the modern ones nowadays. Let’s keep them alive. Have a good week ahead.
That's right, lots of great memories. I miss those Arcade days, but love that we can still play these gems in some form. Thank you!! Have a good week too!
Hamster has released a lot of great arcade games over 300 even some that's never came out west before and even Nintendo made arcade games. Unfortunately some of my favorites aren't on here like cowboys of moo Mesa, Cadillacs and dinosaurs and Root beer tapper. I'd kick myself if I didn't mention the deta east collections.
@@KaijuClub unfortunately anything that's based off a 25 to 30 yr old ip is never going to happen but I'm not expecting it. Just like I have no idea who owns root beer tapper with Midway long dead.
@@UndeadEggmiester Yeah, especially when nothing from that IP has shown up for decades. As for tapper, it is most likely it is Warner Bros who owns it. They purchased a ton of licenses from Midway when they went under. (A modern Midway collection would be nice!)
Grow up in the 80's back when malls had actual arcades in them. Mortal Kombat 2 was my favorite, but played so many turtles, Simpsons, street fighter, Shinobi, outrun, street fighter, gauntlet....
I was more of a 90s kid, but I remember stores often having them upfront, or seeing them at the laundry mat (I remember this one having Bubble Bobble and playing that A LOT). I was lucky enough that the mall nearby had an arcade, so I could go there on a weekend to play some games if I wanted. Those were the days. I miss them.
I strongly recommend to get on sale Joe and Mac returns, that changes the side scroll action-adventure formula to pure (one screen) platforms, like Snow Bros. Believe me, is a blast of fun, friendly, and as cheap as 2 prehistoric dollars.
Speaking of Snow Bros, a remastered version of the arcade game recently came out on the Switch. Adds a lot of new content (Haven't played it yet though!)
After buying all these digital games, new and old, I've come to realise I prefer physical copies. The cover, the cartridge ...it's just how I've associated down-time gaming. I wish all these games had a physical release, and not by shifty outfits like Limited Game Run (artificially inflating production numbers only to re-sell it themselves from other platforms)
For me arcade wise donkey Kong has the most memories from the local pizza joint as well as pac man. I never played the turtles games in the actual arcade I got them on the nes as a kid that’s where I played them.
I always wanted to try an actual Donkey Kong cabinet. I had the Donkey Kong Classics game for the NES as a kid, and was shocked years later when I found out that the Arcade release had an extra board (screen) that wasn't in the NES release! Kinda weird they didn't include it. I mean I can't imagine space being an issue. Always kinda confused me as to why Nintendo did that.
Garou : Mark of the wolves for neo geo/arcade Its like a spin off from Fatal Fury series. And is the game with best graphics for the neo geo and a very solid fighting game with wonderful 2d sprites and animation.
A lot of the Arcade Games on Switch do have options to make them full screen if you desire! Looking over my list of games that I talked about in the video, I believe every single one has the ability to do so 🤘
@@KaijuClub Super Pac-Man shows the main game playing in the centre of the screen with static pictures on the sides. Can you just play the game in full screen without those pictures on the sides?
@@nrikhy2793 Just did a quick check, looks like you can increase the screen size to full screen, but doesn't look like you can turn off the bezel (pictures on the sides).
Some games that weren't mentioned that deserve to make the list: Mr Driller Drill land Puyo Puyo Tetris 1&2 Mario Kart 8 MushihimeSama Donut Dodo Capcom Beat em up bundle Ultra Street fighter 2 Honorable mention: Double Dragon Kunio kun collection Johnny turbos arcade collection
70 and 80s yeah yes it's so I spent on a ton of time yesterday in the arcades yesterday and all the places yesterday they had video games in it yes it did back then
I remember seeing the game Toki at a Pizza Hut in 89-90. I had no idea what the game was. I was only 5-6 at the time so it blew me away. The intro was so bizarre and even a bit scandalous. I just knew it was for the older kids. I never knew what game it was. But I could not forget the man being transformed into a monkey with a football helmet. That part stuck in my brain for decades until I finally figured out what game it was. I also have vague memories of Ghosts and Goblins. But no idea where or when I saw that in the arcade. Favorite memories playing must be TMNT and possibly even the Simpson's game. I always had more fun playing with friends. Never spent enough time on any one game to be any good. Now that I think about it I THINK I played Lethal Enforcers at a bowling alley once. The game with the blue light gun revolvers. (Ok now I'm gonna google that and see if I'm right.) Woohoo! Nailed it! Can't believe I remembered that one. My brain was probably about to reuse that bit of hard drive space 😂 Very sorry to hear about your mother. I love your videos, keep up the good work!!!
I don't know if you know, but they did release an updated version of Toki on the switch. It's not one I remember played in the arcades but I remember hearing about it. I *think* it was on that Nick arcade show ( I loved that show as a little kid lol) My early arcade memories were of games like X-men arcade and Simpsons Arcade, I gravitated a lot to the beat 'em ups. I remember some of the 80s games that stuck around in the 90s like Pac-man, Ms. Pac-man, Galaga, Dig Dug, and ghosts and golblins and playing them. My family would travel a lot during summer as a kid, and If I was lucky, the hotel would have a mini arcade with a few cabinets (often older games) so I got to experience them. That's actually where I first experienced Marvel Vs Capcom, a hotel my family was staying at had a cabinet and I just remember being blown away with how crazy it was. I remember asking for many quarters to try to play that game 😂😂 I miss light gun games through, they were so awesome. I'd love to see them come back in some capacity like the Jurassic Park light gun game. Wii got a few ports because of the Wii remote, but it seems since then, it's rare as anything to see one actually get a release these days. And thank you, I really appreciate it! Glad you love the videos!!
@@KaijuClub OMG how did I forget the X-Men arcade game?!?!?! I definitely spent more time playing that than anything else. I loved being Colossus, I can still hear it now lol.
Like everyone I played a bunch of TMNT and Turtles in Time in the arcade but I love the shoutout for Samurai Showdown II. Haohmaru main all the way here.
