Thank you for focusing so heavily on this first solo part. I’ve been racking my mind for years trying to figure out exactly what he’s doing here… appreciate it
@@michaelgarcia2050Ted is one of my inspirations for guitar playing but Frank Marino of Mahogany Rush fame who uses a 61 Gibson Lespaul with the tremolo bar he can replicate the slide by using his tremolo .
Thanks for doing this video! Ted is one of my favorites and this is probably my favorite Ted solo (which I've never been been able to get quite right). Sadly, he will never get the credit he deserves because of his outspoken politics.
I love this song. I still remember it blasting out back in the day I was working at CRANE CAMS --- LIKE THE GUITAR 🎸 STRAP ---- IM fortunate to own a KRAMER Striker 300 ST
After listening to metal and rock and playing guitar for 20 years I still think the first solo in Stranglehold is one of the best solos ever made. Short and simple but so powerful
@@evdawg7757: Just listen to Yngwie and he makes that even more true...I can only listen to that shit for about two minutes...but I can listen to Billy Gibbons, Ace Frehley and Angus Young and Nugent all day...
If you look that this can you shower how to play Blues theme from the movie wild angels please I can't get it to sound like it close but not the way they did it
that's pretty good, got someo jamminlicks in it however basic he puts a little extra on them, check penetrator he has some very fast licks on that one also.. Teds alway been a bit foa freek that way, like "how'd he make that fit?" lol PENETRATOR!!!! lofl.. good one tho, half the time I am not even sure I am hearing that first little diddy right or not, glad you sorted it... the rest is easier IMHO.. that first one tho, not the cliche part the rest of it.. the slide up bit so forth, they did call Ted the Ten Fingers of doom back in the day no jokes...
Yes I agree it can't be strictly key of D major because it's got C chord in it. Songs often deviate from any strict key to get more creative right?.... The Beatles did that all the time.!!!.. And we know what great music they came out with!!!
This is the song that made me want to play guitar
nugent not being in the rock and roll hall of fame is just a sin!
We know what is keeping him out. Uncle Ted doesn't give a rats azz.
Just like when they turned down Steppenwolf and put in Tupac,, It's ran by dumbasses now, it actually took Foo Fighters to get Joan Jett inducted.

Love Ted Nugent!! He's about the only one I've ever heard that can sound like he's playing slide but he's just using 2 fingers!!
I've just recently discovered that he does that. It's pretty incredible, you would never know he's not using a glass slide when he does it.

Actually, I think he does get the credit. Not from the leftists in the music journalism industry, but definitely from music lovers and musicians.
I love this song.

I've bought many a crane cams over the years. Concerned about the quality today.
Maybe you could shed some light on the cam and lifter crisis.

SORRY... I HAVE been gone since the late 1980's
Uncle Ted is a badass player STILL!! Thanks for the lesson.
Great lesson love me some stranglehold! My favorite Ted Nugent song!
Awesome clip Tom !

One of my top 3 guitarists is John from red hot chilli peppers and he always mentions "less is more". I've grown to respect that comment.

The intro riff sounds so good! I looked at a couple of lessons/tabs that never got that introduction riff down the way you do.
Uncle Ted may be a space cadet, but that mofo sure can play guitar!
Tom, I've run out of great things to say about your lessons. Insert your favorite!
Compared to other lesson videos this isn't that good
Nicely done thanks!
great thank you i can follow
Can you cover the main solo sir?
I've been thinking about it. Thanks for the inspiration. I will try to do that
@@LEADSOLO did you do it?
Nothing like it
I dont understand how this is in the key of D yet all the leads sound like A minor when A is the mixolydian of the key of D
