I liked the part where zoomer Clark takes a minute to console Rob Reiner over his grief from Kamala losing the election. I really felt the character’s humanity in that moment.
Unfortunately It is I looked up the cast. lol Im not very enthusiastic about this thing but they could win me back with a second trailer that doesnt suck
I dont know what the movie wants to be. The colors, the music and Krypto make it seem hopeful. But everything we see is anything but. The tone is very strange.
The problem with the Superman trailer is there was aready a Superman show that ended weeks before called Superman and Lois. And when you watch this trailer and see all these other Dc characters it reminds you of the CW shows on how they look. Which is why it doesn't get SOME or MOST of us excited when we are watching it.
Lot of Amy Adams fans in these replies. And yes, Amy Adams was a fox back in the day... so why does she look like a Soccer mom in Man of Steel, who is already four kids in. Lol, no offense, but seriously... and SUPER man just falls for that? Why? Because she stalked him, and she's annoyingly persistent af and wants to out all his secrets? Oh damn, how romantic, lol
That trailer gave me, "we're cramming all of bad tropes from the last 75 years of the comic, into this movie. and it will be less than 2 hours", vibes.
9:40 Should have been a smoking large crater. Even as a baby he cracked the surface way harder, and he was fine. Im sure we are seeing the middle or the end of the movie and we will be caught up towards the end of it and learn why he smashed into earth. Still not interested.
Christopher Reeve played Superman Christopher Reeve is not Superman so therefore it was just another movie and looking back at his movies. They were kind of corny for the time they were nothing like the comic books now or through the 90s 80s anything like that
@10:50 When I saw that first scene of Clark Kent, I thought I was watching Ronald from that 1987 movie Can't Buy Me Love. I swear, Clark looks just like Patrick Dempsey does in that movie, after the girl gives him the make-over.
Superman should have had a movie done in the vein of Tim Burton's Batman. Have Superman set in a retro future late 40's early 50's in the style of Fleischer bros Superman cartoons. I mean that would be badass.
Bizarre coincidence but I was just reading some 70s Superman Comics a couple days ago and they're so wholesome and cheerful. It's like night and day when compared to this trailer.
Im 50/50. Looks better than snyderverse, but I think it could have been cast better and that he might be trying to cram too many characters into a movie that should just be about superman.
Worthy kilgallon was a texas newspaper reporter who was doing a series of articles on the Kennedy family and their affairs and stumbled into and was scooped into the conspiracy that killed jfk. She would've blown open the case, but she was killed and made it look like a unalivingcide in her sleep. She was found in bed dressed in day clothing in a room she never slept in. She never used the ac, but the ac was on. She always slept in darkness and there was lights on in the room she never slept in ever. She still had her makeup on, and she had a rule to never lay in bed without washing her face. That's just a start
They will never top the original Superman movie, and i don't even care about the character to begin with. This trailer, you take away the music nostalgia bait and is just meh.
The suite does not look good. Lois lane, does she look smart and sexy? No... The music is lazy rip off of John Williams. This trailer is a D-. Man of steel trailer was better and that movie is 6/10.
I don't think the Trailer came off as Superman downtrodden or beat down. I think the previous movies have beat him down. Man of Steel, Snapping Necks, being killed, fired from companies, replaced, Superman Returns, sneaking into little boys bedrooms, Super Stalking his ex and her new man. The movie industry has beaten this character to death... and I think the first scene in this trailer, shows that, and its time to come away from it. I think its Hopeful. I think were finally in for some change, for a better Superman.
The Superman actor kind of looks like Topher Grace so I keep seeing Eric Forman in some shots. I also get the impression that he’s going for a more autistic version of clark Kent than the clumsy Boy Scout that we’re used to.
13:04 To stand out of course. If you get in his radius he'll try to sell you a CD from his stack and tell you about his new mixtape. Maybe do a little softshoe.
I ended up in an argument with my brother about the Krypto scene after I mentioned that I don't think getting dragged home by your cape is very heroic. I prefer for the hero to get up and limp home. He just could not fathom that I'd be bothered by Superman asking his dog to drag him home instead of getting up. He wouldn't let it go. And like I told him, it's not that Superman gets hurt. That's fine. It's not even that he gets help from his dog. That's fine too. What bugs me is, and it could be different in the movie, there doesn't seem to be any attempt to get up. That's not a hero. Can we just have Superman act like Superman is supposed to act? AKA Captain America from the MCU? You know, like a hero?
This Superman trailer is the equivalent of Kurt Kobain's quote 'I hate myself and wanna die' - Nothing aspirational is shown so the idea of yet another Doomsday and Superman death suddenly does stick.
"EVS he's the best. He passed the test. He's EVS" I just wrote that song for everyone in the comments, you can use whatever melody you want that fits. (Don't change lyrics tho)
Take a look at nearly every shot of The Empire Strikes Back. You see things on set or in special effects going into and out of images so even a paused shot looks 3-D. Most of the scenes from this movie look flat like an old side scroll video game. A couple shots needed tilt. I see no passion or energy in it. The shot of Hawkgirl needs something in the foreground, maybe the camera moves with her and goes past a building, and maybe a cloud formation that gives you distance. The sun & sky look hazy like there's a lot of dust in the sky. Metropolis has lighting that makes you feel like it's in a very hot desert. Looks lazy and uninspired. Let's not forget that Gunn's GOTG movies never broke a billion or grew in popularity over 3 movies, even with promos in Avengers 3 and 4. And he had the Disney/Marvel committee watching over his shoulder. Without the committee, he has made the terrible Suicide Squad and Peacemaker and we can see, he has made some very bad decisions with this movie.
I liked it! It might be a 5/10 or 6/10 but that's what I gave X-Men Origins Wolverine, the one and only time I saw it, due to 90s Joe Kelly Deadpool being my favorite superhero related character and Wolverine being my favorite superhero, so I appreciated a relatively clean live action interpretation, and it was my all time favorite movie back then...would I see it a second time? As long as it's relatively clean....I'm stoked to see the James Gunn Superman in the theater if people are hyped! The 1997 Joe Kelly villain to anti-hero redemption Deadpool was my favorite superhero related character, where it's not a fluff favorite like Superman where I turn my head and then forget it's attached so if the James Gunn movie isn't good or I never see it, whatever, but I wanna see a good new action/adventure/fantasy/drama movie in theaters since I would have wanted to go to the midnight showing for Deadpool/Wolverine but.... They just talking out their assets on this one. They haven’t had a decent grift in while might as well give them this one it is Christmas time after all. 😂
I liked the part where zoomer Clark takes a minute to console Rob Reiner over his grief from Kamala losing the election. I really felt the character’s humanity in that moment.
Devastating.
This really happened in the trailer?
I mean the scene is shown without context but that was my interpretation of it. 😝
LMAO!! I just hope that's not Pa Kent.
Unfortunately It is I looked up the cast. lol
Im not very enthusiastic about this thing but they could win me back with a second trailer that doesnt suck
"The dog is behaving like Superman!" 🤣😂
My guy Guy Gardner looks awful
Superman The Animated Series from the 90s is still the best portrayal of this character
Tyler Hoechlin is a good Superman
The opening scene looks like North Dakota right now. Don't worry, son; I'm inside and safe.
I'm 4 hours north of you Holiday - same here in sunny Manitoba!
You can skip this introduction and the real live stream starts at @2:38.
I dont know what the movie wants to be. The colors, the music and Krypto make it seem hopeful. But everything we see is anything but. The tone is very strange.
It’s a “whatever” from me.
This could not be more aimed at the Twilight/Disney fandom unless Superman sparkled in sunlight
It's a crap version of the Top gun guitar theme by Steve Stevens.
Snyder did one thing right and that was the costume for Superman
The problem with the Superman trailer is there was aready a Superman show that ended weeks before called Superman and Lois. And when you watch this trailer and see all these other Dc characters it reminds you of the CW shows on how they look. Which is why it doesn't get SOME or MOST of us excited when we are watching it.
Heavy CW vibes.
Uh no
These aren’t CW vibes, they’re James Gunn vibes lol
James Gunn is really out here plugging a Marvel Franchise on a DC film.
This is pretty much every Franchise now, everyone copying the MCU.
Teri Hatcher is literally the only good looking woman to have played Lois Lane.
Amy Adams is cute, but she looks nothing like Lois.
What a clown take, Amy Adams is gorgeous
Chick in Smallville was pretty hot.

It’s annoying going through a 3 minute trailer for 30 minutes off the bat
I like getting a sense first
At least theres not a rap version of the Superman theme
You have black peoples that much, huh? 😀
@HermosaFeCatolica Just white rap for me, please.
It’s the Stay Puff Marshmellow Man
Reminded me of the Yaira trailer.
That iconic moment of Superman smashed into cold tundra, wheezing and bleeding. Would make a great poster!😂

I blame Anna
James Gunn is the the third Soskas ?
I swear the can the guy throws at Superman is a can of Pillsbury biscuits.
Man's just trying to open his breakfast, guys.
Yes the hair style is bad. But, from what I've seen here, he does look different when he's superman.
And gay when he's Clark.
It looks like a great fan film
They all got the same talking points. They all must be talking in the back rooms again. 😂
The part where superman saved the (deaf) girl, I'm pretty sure he snapped her neck...
He does. And she dies. That's why they are throwing cans of corn at him later. (Oh....SPOILER)
Christopher Reeve played Superman Christopher Reeve is not Superman so therefore it was just another movie and looking back at his movies. They were kind of corny for the time they were nothing like the comic books now or through the 90s 80s anything like that

Yeah, this isn't a real electric guitar, it's a digital simulator, possibly AI - and not a good one, it lacks the tonal dynamics of a real amp.
