Question: a player is allowed to strike from or in the kitchen IF the ball has struck once before this during the game inside the kitchen? For instance say opposite side hits ball and 2:02 ball bounces in thekitchen on opposite side of the net. Is the rule for just that one strike or is it thereafter the opposite side may enter the kitchen on that side? And if so is the other team not allowed into the kitchen until a ball bounces in their kitchen? Thanks to anyone who will clarify.
One strike. If it bounces in the kitchen you can go up and hit it whether you’re in the kitchen or not but then once you hit it over the rules resume where if the next ball bounces past the kitchen you cannot enter the kitchen to hit it.
Then you have defied physics and broken the world speed record for projecting a pickleball by human force (and you break your opponents sternum, but win the volley).
The one thing you didn't mention in this video is when team B is returning the ball off the serve, can the ball land in the kitchen on team A's side or is it out if it lands in the kitchen area on the return bounce?
technically it already had that same growth a long time before your "sport" did...so....ok....i guess you just wanted to talk about you and your "invention"....
I played for the first time last week. Not sure how I feel about it. I can see its appeal since it is very easy to pick up or at least easier than other “racquet” sports. As a tennis player, I really had to adjust my swing and realize the technique is not the same at all. You need quick reflexes and and you do get a workout due to the fast nature. However, it does somewhat feel like what we would call “baby tennis” which is what beginners would play to get used to getting the ball over the net. It is a very democratic sport so I can see its wide appeal. I will play a few more times to see. I will also say the scoring is not easily understandable. It also is very close to touch tennis which is tennis played on a court about 1/3 the size of a regular court with smaller racquets and different balls but similar scoring system. The community that plays this sport IS supper passionate which is generally a good thing.
it just seems like a weird hodgepodge of ping-pong and tennis, without the excitement of bigger moves that you have in tennis or the finesse of table tennis.
Just played it for the first time today and i had a blast. It was 2v2 and we played a couple of games to best of 3. I’m a ping pong guy and thought this game was like a larger version. And whatever happened to "Platform Tennis"? It was sort of cold weather tennis offshoot that used a smaller ball and paddles. About 40 years ago. Ive never heard it mentioned since. Also similar to racketball in that the ball could be played off of the screening enclosure.
