- This is a Tutorial on how to convert a T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro into an International Version. Keep in mind you will lose all your data, so make sure you backup and transfer backup file to computer. As far as I know the SIM does not need to be unlocked, according to the thread. I was able to unlock the SIM using a thread in the forums if you search. Good Luck, and happy trails.

what a great video...did step by step and it worked great. The main thing i learned was that you need let the phone create the drivers so that once all is said in done its easy for the msm downloader to do its thing. I almost bricked my phone twice and and held the power button for 40 secounds then plugged it to the charger and held power and volume up. Then i got sahara error on it because i didnt download the oneplus drivers the whole time. so as long as you follow this vid it should work. Thanks for the vid.

Successful switch from TMobile to International for both my OnePlus 7 Pro and my Wife's too. Your tips helped so much and made things easier. No problems at all.

[update] I figured it out. super late with this. I just turned USB Debugging on and it worked like a charm. thanks for the tutorial. so if anyone is having issues converting to international, just turn USB Debugging on and then do the process again, it will work. keep in mind though, if you have not paid off your OP7 Pro from T-Mobile, you will not be able to install Oxygen betas. it will network lock and you'll have to revert back to the stable versions of Android. the international version does not give you the ability to install betas on a fully unpaid OP7 Pro. it will always network lock unless you find a way to get the SIM unlocked. once you do that, you will be able to install betas.
@Andrew Green I tried for 3 hours to get everything to work on my friends computer, it would not connect to the MSM tool at all. Not sure what I was doing wrong. Was there anything outside of what he showed in this video you did to get yours to work? I even had USB debugging enabled.

i downloaded all of the files and extracted them to a folder, but whenever i plug in the phone to the computer it does not say connected whatsoever. Ive tried it a couple of times (installed drivers and enabled USB debugging) and it has never said connected. it just has 4 columns "indexes" that all say N/A

Didn't know u could do this WITHOUT unlocking the bootloader, I'm gonna try this when I get home.. Great, informative easy video..I have the OnePlus 8 so hopefully the same steps apply..when trying to download the files its giving me a "decrypt" message in order for the file to be opened,.

@@Clinton7566 I downloaded the onneplus firm, found a Tmobile residue online and installed it. I went into the app to unlock the button and I pulled it off and it worked. Oem unlocked and cast.

Yeah. Haha. I converted my HD1907 TMO US Unlocked one plus 7t. To global Dual Sim. I used the patched boot MSM tool. I ran the MSM hit start. That way I then plugged in the device holding both power buttons and it waited til it connected and then started. Upon completion I got the device is corrupt and will not boot warning. Let it sit and reboot itself to bootloader. Then typed in the fastboot oem unlock. It wipes device and I then held button power and both volume to flash the flash all .bat 2 times. Then ran the local upgrade global. Now I have global running no issues and runs great. I just realized later though the bootloader is greyed out saying already unlocked but it's ticked to off on the little UI button toggle. Hahah. And the phone still reads 1907 however all good. That's good for me.

When I do this it'll go through fine it'll say connected but when I hit start it only goes to 8 seconds on the application then it disconnects and just sits there at eight seconds

@@luisriveraescobar1986 depending on what version you running you might need to revert back to oos9 to install this.
With the international version, has anyone had issues with remote caller hearing themselves (echo on remote end). This happens on incoming and outgoing calls. I've looked at other posted saying lower the volume, but that doesn't work for me. I only experience this when using the handset earpiece. This problem does not occur on speakerphone or Bluetooth.
If you flash this, before unlocking the phone with the T-Mobile "unlock" app, how is it possible to unlock the phone after this? I checked, the play store does not have their unlock app to download. I read that the app is only on tmobile locked phones, and deletes itself once it has been used for a permanents unlock. Does anyone know ?
You have to SIM unlock first then flash this. If you flash first, you still can go back to TMO software and unlock and repeat the process.

So i'm getting this phone on Friday. I have to use it for 40 days before I can make it international is that right? 2. I'm getting the phone financed will this have any effect on the process? 3. I already ordered a dual SIM tray as I have 2 tmobile lines. Will I be able to use 2 tmobile lines once device recognizes 2 Sim cards?

So TMobile tries to tell you that you need to have the phone for 40 days and pay the device off. I did neither, I messaged the T-Mobile help page on Twitter and explained that I was going to be out of the country for longer then 60 days and if they could not do a permanent device unlock I would be returning the phone and financing one from OnePlus it's self. They quickly granted me a permanent unlock.

I recently bought one plus 7t which is made in India. The phone came with a single sim slot but the seller gave me the dual sim tray and it worked instantly. I asked to the seller if it is refurbished but he said it is usa version but made in India.
Did I get the brand new phone or refurbished?

Why, when entering system install mode, the device exits mode and quickly reboots the device without the MSM tool recognizing the device even though I did the same steps you did.

I know it's been years since this video, but if I recall correctly you have to plug the device quickly or else it will do that

It's been so long since this video. Just make sure all the files are in the same folder on your desktop. Connect phone ASAP after going to download mode.

You have to hit start button right away or it will time out.

Same thing happened to me. You re missing some drivers. Install oneplus driver and Qualcomm USB driver. Everything went well for new after installing these driver

I'll try lol. You have to hold volume up and down for couple seconds, plug in cable. As soon as it shows connected, hit start. Don't wait too long

hey msmdownloadtool cant detect my oneplus 7 pro also when trying to install the oneplus drivers my phone doesnt show the drivers for me to download, i put it on file transfer and press no file transfer and nothing pops up in my file manager, i also downloaded a oneplus driver off the interet for oneplus 7 pro this one to be exact oneplususbdrivers.com/oneplus-7-pro-usb-driver-download/

Yes, just download the updated zip for the correct device and manually flash from local.

The phone has to be sim unlock before you perform the conversion. You can still do this, but the phone will still be sim locked.

You need to just extract the files to the folder don't move them for example if you have this (/OP7 Conv/MSMtool/) extract the archive in / do not move the files from the folder they extract into then just go ahead and run the patched MSM tool and your all set.

I didnt get that with mine. What i would suggest is deleting all the files you installed. Create a new folder on your desktop. An redownload the files needed to convert your device...but make sure to save them in the new folder you made. Once you saved the files there....right click and extract files here. Then just follow the steps on the video and it should work. Hope it helps!

It should, it's pretty much the same device. Probably need to download slightly different files though.

I think you have to unlock it from T-Mobile
Once we convert it, it'll automatically unlock the network as well? My oneplus only works with metro and t-mobile
You need to get it unlocked first, then convert. You can still do the conversation but it will be locked.

Honestly I don't want to give wrong info. I think you have to get some unlocked beforehand, but I could be wrong. I would assume it does since it's a international firmware.
