  • When it comes to doubles strategy, typically you either fake, or you poach, but not both. However, there's a way you can actually do both at the same time, and it has the added benefit that it's an analytically-sound strategy. It's supported by the stats from the pro tennis tour.

Really appreciate you mentioned the club vs pro stat issue. I have a pretty solid serve but most of the people I play with are just getting it in, so it kind of complicates strategy. By the way, you shared another poaching tip a while ago about when you should poach 100% of the time and that tip has been super helpful to me! Thanks for these videos!

i used to have a partner that crossed nearly every time the receiver got a backhand on the ad side, got passed down the line so many times.

I used this strategy yesterday and it worked amazing. We won 6:1/6:1

Good advice, but the winner/error rates to an empty court probably isn’t the same as to a covered side.

No. Depends on what level. 3.0 players will ALWAYS try to go down the line when served out wide on the ad side. 3.5 and above is mostly crosscourt or over the net persons head.

Why would a 3.0 do that?
