Great advice. Now i understand more about being the aggressor and defender. I always though that my role in net is just defending my side. Thanks a lot
Doubles strategy is based on moving with the ball and playing a zone similar to tactics in other sports. Multi sports athletes tend to pick up on this in my high school tennis coaching experience. Good doubles is about setting up a two on one situation where your partner hits to a position on the court and you cut off the return. In a way it’s similar to good basketball tactics. Doubles is difficult because it requires lots of different skills to implement tactics. Back in my day we played lots of serve and volley singles so we adjusted to doubles because we had developed the volley and overhead skills. Today it’s more of a grip it and rip it forehand game with occasional net play. I see lots of doubles that looks like 4 people playing singles. Two players hit and two watch the rally and protect the alley.
Good info: I’m finding that, including myself, lol, that good players are not always good doubles players. This info can help narrow the disparity. Thx…
Great tactics to implement in my doubles game. However, sometimes I feel there is not enough time to react to the visual cues when the opposing net person is getting into position to take advantage of a short ball and I too am at the net. Maybe my partners are just not keeping it cross court enough? Not sure how to really resolve this as it happens over and over.
Where is the sweet spot from focusing on the ball vs. the opponent? I tell myself to keep my eyes on the ball once it crosses over the net. I can see that initially picking up visual cues from my opponent would be valuable too. Doing both I guess is the difference between a mediocre doubles player vs. a good one.

Honestly the best material online with the perfect balance of amount of instruction and time taken.
Thanks for the kind words, they're much appreciated!
Very nice, some of these things I was doing without recognizing. Understanding our actions makes them repeatable.

Great lesson! Is there a way that I can access the computer program that you are using to move the players around the court?
Hi Rob, it's a feature of the Vibe Tv we're using. Not super cheap but def a cool toy to have on hand.

What program are you using on your monitor?
We're using a vibe tv and using the analysis tech of Coaches Eye. Hope this helps!

Hotter than Bradley Cooper even tho nobody asked 🦫0:05
Some great tips there.... But please, the incorrect lines on the court hurt my eyes!
Whaaaat?
Get rid of the stupid backward cap
Good to see you focusing on the fundamentals 🤦😴
I was going to watch, but the stupid t-shirt was too much of a distraction. Dress for success.
A suit perhaps? 🤔
Of course, now you made me have to see it again. Good on ya mate!
