Keep in mind that Chad is a 'jam drummer'. So he will know how to react because he's doing what's called 'active listening'. There are moments in here that as a drummer I can tell he's never heard the song before because there are little hesitations and corrections. Very subtle.
Thank you Tulsa, Glad you enjoyed!!
Yeah, the fills are a bit “jerky”, like he’s not sure if it fits in. But yeah and a few places you could see where it goes quiet and is a beat or two behind.
Still kills it though.
@@marquisdelafayette1929 that he does, and yeah so it isn't "perfect" but man looks at how much fun he's having and that's why we're all here coz it's awesome 😀 thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed
He is wonderful drummer. Perfect in any styles of music. He goes ahead anyway. And he do it.
He is incredible! I'm glad you enjoyed
This is Chad's 40 years behind those drums, he makes a few crossover mistakes but he corrects so quickly it's hard to notice. His anticipation is unlike anyone I have seen.
He's truly just a HUGE fan of music and you can really see it when he plays! Thanks for watching Wolf, glad you enjoyed
@@ExploringTheSmoke Subscribing!
@@badwolf2185 you're a legend 💪🏻
Your reaction might be the most like mine. Like, I'm tryna listen and analyze, but then **feral screaming outta nowhere!** 😆 Absolute joy.
Sometimes when the jam hits just right.... analysis can wait 😂 glad you enjoyed
man's intuition and reaction time is insane - he takes his best guess and needs ~ 1/2 bar to figure out if he's right and where to adjust if he's not. All the other Drumeo videos in this series are great as well, but Chad is just an absolute CHAD. Also, it might be basic as hell, but hell bent for leather always one of my favorites.
Eric!! I gotta agree fully, Chad just brings his own flavour and I will ALWAYS be here for it! Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed
Pop drummer Domino doing Slipknot is another good one.
Oooooooh!!! Slipknot covers are ALWAYS welcome 😂 glad you enjoyed
@@ExploringTheSmokeagreed she has two appearances on drumeo
@@getdownorlaydown763 oh it's cominggggg, but music copyright is throttling me right now 😭 thank you for watching 💪🏻 glad you enjoyed
Hey ! French viewer here.
Trust me, you really should check the Mike Portnoy, Eloy Casagrande and Tosh Peterson videos from the same series. And as a bonus, the one called Larnell Lewis hears a song once and plays it perfectly. Those 4 videos will blow your mind.
Larnell I know of from his wild run in Snarky Puppy, portnoy is just a monster behind the kit! Eloy and Tosh I now HAVE to see haha thank you for watching Gauthier! I'm glad you enjoyed
There's a good chance his subconscious has heard this song.
In his musical repertoire, I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he knew it somewhere in that noggin of his 😂 thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed
Probably during Lollapalooza 2006, they both played on the same night
@@andrewfarelli9241 😂😂😂 crazy how much music this guy must know and never realize it 😂
Chad is an effing riot. Not a fan of RHCP, but I can respect what he and the band bring to the table.
The whole groove is just THERE 😂 glad you enjoyed Josh! Thanks for watching
Nice reaction (:
Thank you Rita, glad you enjoyed
I didn't know you played bass 🤘🥴 (me too for about 30 years.). What kind of bass do you play ?
I do indeed! Style wise a little bit of everything, bass, and ibanez sr300
@ExploringTheSmoke nice bro ( ibanez makes some fine basses). I would love to see you play sometime 🤘
@@jamesmelissawhite4807 they do indeed, and maybe I will one day but with the talent on UA-cam these days, it'll be a while haha
People who can press the god /goat button on demand are typically worth 100 mil +
And this guy just loves to play and will be on most projects he's asked to! What a machine he is! Glad you enjoyed Wheel, thanks for watching
I would have to disagree about Chad's jumping right in not "being the normal thing to do." I've been a studio/session musician for 35+ years (multiple instruments - including drums) and any decent musician with Chad's experience and years behind the kit should be able to jump right in to some extent. Obviously he's an amazing drummer but once he found the time signature and the feel of the song it was off to the races. No offense to Jared Leto but Thirty Seconds to Mars is hardly Tool or King Crimson. RHCP has several songs in 3/4 or 6/8 and Chad has played with a few bands as well as sitting in with many others so I wasn't surprised he was able to wing it. "Breaking the Girl" has the same time signature, a similar drum part and Chad's played it probably hundreds of times. Copy and paste.
Cheers mate. 35 plus years of studio experience no wonder YOU can do it too. Your elitism is REEKING, but cheers for watching, glad we agree on chad being a beast behind the kit eh, oh yeaaaah, because EVERY session player would hear 2-3 bars of drumless music and nail it...because one of his hundreds of songs had the same time signature
