Kroos departure took a huge part of Madrid his absence will be noted unlike the other legends that left the club, that's how unique he is.
The way Vinicius, Fede, Ramos, Modric, Jude and many more talk about Kroos shows how special he was, not only as a player but also as a teammate. He will go down in history as one of the greatest of all time.

Kroos is probably my favourite Madrid player the guy is definitely a top 5 cm of all time. There should be no doubts on his status he's done it all for so long and so consistently week in and week out, for both club and country. Never really having a bad season that I can remember.

Playmakers and players that dictate the tempo of a game have always been underrated, the only midfielders that get praise consistenty are 8`s and flashy playmakers.
Midfielders like Zidane, Modric and to a lesser extent Seedorf(although he doesn`t get as much praise as he should)
these types of midfielders get praise. No denying their quality as all three are legends of the game, but they have playing styles that gets attention.
Meanwhile players that dictate the tempo like Kroos, and even someone like Gundogan doesn`t get the praise they deserve.
Deep lying playmakers like Pirlo also gets ignored.
also people who find passing to be boring, i don`t think those types of people genuinely like football, because Passing is how the game of football progresses.
I think Kroos should win the ballon d`or ahead of Vini and Jude Bellingham.
