I still couldn’t bring myself to watch the last episode of Reply 1988. Ryu Jun Yeol is the soul of this drama for me. So glad he gets his love in real life.
Same. I can't watch the last episode. I could barely make it through the 19th. The way the storyline was set up made it seem so obvious to me that these two would be together, so Deok-sun and Taek together was not only heartbreaking, but unsatisfactory too. Jung-hwan had flaws and that made him a more rounded character and gave him room to grow with her. I'll never get over it
It breaks my heart.. i spent the entire time lovingly calling him an idiot for not showing his true feelings in a way she understood him... because in the end is not about who loved her more, but how much they were willing to show that love to her.. and Taek loved her the way she understood it and he didn't give up on her.. I wonder what would've happened if junghwan hadn't given up straight away..

Actually he was the 1st lead in this series. He didn't actually gave way to Taek. He was just really hesitant. Actually he and Taek were both hesitant after they found out they both like Deoksun. He tried so hard to meet Deoksun in a concert but sadly he was a little too late. And he knows that somehow it was his fault that he didn't get Deoksun. I mean he has an idea already that Deoksun kinda like him after he told her not to go on a blind date. Deoksun gave him hints here and there eventhough he didnt know yet that Taek liked her too. And before Taek made a move during the year 1994, he had the chance to tell Deoksun his real feelings. He even saved the fiance ring for her and told her everything but then made the confession looked like it was just a joke for his buddies. Taek probably saved so much courage to be able to make Deoksun know that she is special to him. It was really a sad moment for Junghwan but as he said, its because his a coward and hesitant that made him lose Deoksun. 😢😢😢😢
All of them strike up to the core of my inner feeling..it a comedy drama story.each one of them really did well.A korean drama that really difficult to forget,i cant get over despite the story ended.
9:30 - It hits harder when you he takes accountability for why it didn't happen ? He wasn't blind. Kudos to the writers of the show, and also the follow up conversation between Taek and Jung Hwan. Great choice of the song.
Actually we could look into a more REALISTIC perspective. The writers made it seem like it's all about his choice, but they weren't enough for a happy ending. I feel bad for how they presented Jung-hwan's closure as if his happy ending was merely a product of his own choice. He's a flawed character after all. Giving love to everyone was his thing, and that's why looking back when he thought Duk Seon would choose Taek over him, he of course felt conflicted to even take a shot at confessing. His confession could have affected both their romantic relationship, his friendship with Duk Seon, with Taek, and it could ultimately have even torn apart their gang. I hate how people blamed him for being indecisive when it comes to love because it's actually totally normal for him to feel that way in terms of pursuing his own interests. 😭 Anyhow, even if he was extremely decisive and loud about his love, had Duk Seon chose Taek for personal reasons (obviously those don't always make sense)... Jung-Hwan wouldn't stand a chance against that, so we can't totally blame him. 💔😢

I'm kinda happy for him on Episode 19 though, obviously not so much with Taek scenes, Taek is lying again when Jung-hwan is already giving way for him, but yeah it shows their mutual respect, I just don't like seeing Jung-hwan in that situation, it hurts 🤣 I'm happy about his family's wedding. I thought he was gonna recreate the wedding, but yeah I also thought the photo looked weird and they revealed they never got wed before. I cried so much seeing him be happy for his mom and acting like it's no big deal for him. Such a boyfriend material 😂
I so much love this couple. He didn’t get her in the series, but the best love is better after the series is done. I do hope they are still together. They seem sincere and in love. I want that kind of love. ♥️
If Jung Hwan had the confidence to share his feelings the way Sung Sun-woo had proposed to Bo-Ra on the first snow fall night, then Jung Hwan first love for Deok-sun would not have been unfulfilled.💔 He lost her just for his hesitations.😥
Poor boy first it was SW and then it was Bo Ra whom SW likes then he got the chance and now it was Taek😥...he was so kind that he give up his happiness for his friend (a true friend💕) but it hurts the most knowing that you cannot undo things from the past💔

Jung hwan is that one ,and not necessarily the first, love we had in our youth that we'll always remember...wondering the whatifs or whatcouldhavebeens. The memory of that awkward love... sad but happy.

He just accepts the fact that and also tells Taek to go for her. He is happy after that and not pining for Daek Sun in the last episode. I wish they would have shown that he does find love somewhere else instead of keeping it open ended where people assume that he had a sad life. instead they could have shown he cherished that time but find loves elsewhere
