  • If your mower "runs and dies" on a shot of starting fluid, then a carburetor jet cleaning or replacement is all you need. I'll show you how to do that in 10 minutes! This procedure is for any brand of mower that has these Briggs & Stratton engines with the plastic carburetor....Craftsman, MTD, Yard Machines, etc.

You can clean the gunk in the main jet as many times as you want, however, it will stop up again and again because the federal government wanted fuel efficiency and as a result the opening in that main jet is 0.12-0.13" in diameter (this where all the gas to the engine must pass through). You need to drill out the main jet to .021" to make sure it does not clog up. This is the diameter of most small engines without the plastic carb and it works just fine and even better at .021". Same for any new replacement cartridges.

Clearly I'm the CURSED 1%. It's less than a year old. I tried everything. They won't even honor my warranty. I wasted my $$$. Craftsman mowers are GARBAGE. 😡

Seems like this took more than 10 minutes?

  • @theemario

This definitely took more than 10 minutes.

  • @VulgarMike

Im not doing this over and over again This thing isn't even that old. I will get it to run and pawn it. This is insane.

Thank you! My husband is working out of state and I was worried I'd have to buy a new mower. 🤣 You made this simple and I was able to do it with absolutely zero experience with stuff like this.

  • @jmeyers1979

Starting fluid did the trick; started first time. Thank you.

  • @chrisreal7799

Excellent video, I just had water in my gas via a broken gas cap and just needed a good step by step to take the carb apart. Very helpful thank you

  • @mdoster5325

Thank you for the video. I watched your video, bought the replacement jet pack and fixed my mower!

  • @marks.e.a.anderson3836

❤❤ thank you so much. I panicked from my fathers mower breaking. And I was the last one who used it so he was going to get mad at me. All I know is that it started then stopped. I was procrastinating the fix after watching this vid weeks ago due to I didn’t trust myself. Not today. I took it apart and cleaned the jet out with water, soap and a needle and it works! Thank you so much for your vid. Other vids are not as detailed as yours. Will subscribe and like.

  • @angielomo2310

  • @ReactorFX

I can not say thank you enough! I figured why not it won’t start anyways I can’t hurt it, before I go buy a new $500 lawnmower. Ordered the jet followed your video and popped the new one in. Fired up in one pull and is running great now.

  • @quikwen

Well this took 2 mins for my mower to start once I sprayed the starter fluid! Thank you!!!
