Look Taylor is not the only artist in history to sing about their love life. Alot of artists do that. And you know what? nobody has to like Taylor swift, it's totally fine that they don't. But where I struggle sometimes with these people, is that they talk so much about family values and obsess about Taylor's dating history, where's this heat for Trump? Dude had multiple affairs and divorces. As much as I can agree on some things there is a level of inconsistancy. I think the problem is that they wish they had someone like Taylor Swift on their side. That's the real issue, as many times JLO has been married,to the multiple women a rapper takes home, you're not gonna convince me that her music is the problem.
I think the difference with Taylor Swift and other artists who sing breakup/love songs is the manner she does it and how much of her discography consists of it, especially the former. The manner in which she does it, is just in general toxic. It's what I'd call naming and shaming. Take All Too Well, a song based on a three-month relationship she had with Jake Gyllenhaal in 2010. When she did the 10-minute version, 11 years later, she made an entire short-film portraying him as angry, obsessive man still obsessed with her all these years later (they haven't spoken since they broke up). Or Joe Jonas, who she dated for two-months a DECADE AND HALF AGO. Still pissed about their break-up, she decided to befriend his estranged wife, when they were going through a messy child custody battle in order to spite him. Or what about John Mayer, whom she went on a handful of casual dates with in 2009 and 2010, before he called it off? She proceeded to write a total of SIX songs about him, and is still namedropping him in songs all these years later. I could go on and on. I honestly find it funny how Swift complains about how the media is fixated on her personal life and "slut shames" her. But in reality she cannot process her emotions properly, even at age 34, and writes music targeting her exes, while her echo-chamber of toxic fans drown out any underlying thoughts questioning whether or not this is healthy. This has become her brand. Music about how every guy she has ever been with has screwed her over one way or another is Taylor Swift. Naming and shaming is Taylor Swift. That is why Taylor Swift is different from every other musician who writes love/break up songs. Anyway, in a year or so, expect an album about Travis and how much he screwed up.

While I am aware of her and her music, Taylor Swift isn't on my radar. Her success doesn't bother me in the least.

I agree. I am a 45 yr old woman, definitely not a Swiftie, and I always liked Candace, but I've actually stopped watching since she started going on her anti-Swift rants. It's a little weird how much she seems to hate her.

I’ve heard her albums (I cannot tell you song titles or anything) but from what I’ve heard, she doesn’t even talk about drugs or alcohol and I don’t even think her songs are explicit sexually. They’re mainly romance and breakup songs. Very vanilla. The hate is really weird.

Some conservatives like her and some don't, she is not the problem. The problem with the entertainment industry is that they don't allow people to have diversity of thought. Fair criticism. I would note that Candace views feminism as perhaps the greatest threat to our civilization and that she doesn't agree with everything Kanye did in the past. It's also fair to point to some bias in favor of Kanye based on being a personal friend.
While Kanye has been critical of feminism and its major sacrament of ab*rtion, TS has become the world's biggest public advocate for feminism and ab*rtion.
One of these celebs is likely to lead people to question progressive politics, while another is bringing in many new converts to the Church. of Woke.

Yes, they definitely should. They’re alienating a huge fan base. As a lifetime Conservative, I cringe every single time I hear other Conservatives going after Taylor, most recently Candace Owens. She keeps going after Taylor, and I don’t understand it. I could never ever vote for that brain dead idiot in the White House, and I’ll never understand why someone as smart as Taylor voted for him. But her political beliefs belong to her. Everyone is entitled to their own, and I wish we could and would all respect those boundaries. I don’t like to discuss politics with anyone. In my experience, unless you agree wholeheartedly with everything the other person says, it rarely ends well. But I’m almost old enough to be Taylor’s mom, and I wish Conservatives would stop talking about her. Why alienate her entire fan base unnecessarily? Candace really did herself a disservice in that Joe Rogan episode when she couldn't articulate her belief against global warming/climate change. She (and a lot of people on that panel) are great against confused college kids, but not great in open conversation. If they aren't angry and arguing about something they really falter.
I am a conservative thinker and this obsession these Conservative pundits have with Taylor Swift is disturbing. They are feeding hatred towards a person and that is never a good thing. What if some wacko listen to all of this and decided to do harm to Taylor or people who attend her concerts.

Taylor Swift is a modern star - it is either going to be her or someone else. Not my type of music, and to be honest, there are times when she looks gorgeous, other times, not so much. We all know she will get older, her looks will decrease - hopefully she will keep being a popular songstress. I saw a picture of Madonna the other day, I hope that Taylor does not wind up like Madonna - need to know the time when to exit the entertainment world.
The Taylor Swift /NFL super-bowl was a bit much - but I sure it helped both their ratings. To be honest - professional sports has become a little crazy with the $ - what they are paying freakishly tall young “star” playing is just stupid - but we keep buying the tickets and watching on TV - everyone is making $!

Look up “Bigger Than The Whole Sky” from her Midnights album… from the beginning, actually… “The Best Day” is from one of her original albums and is such a great song about a mother/daughter relationship. There’s also “Get Better” which is about her mother’s cancer diagnosis and “Ronan” will make a grown man cry; it’s a song about a four year old boy who passed away from a terminal illness.

Agreed. Way too often, romance is undervalued these days. If a man pursues a woman, he's labeled a "sexist pig", or accused of being softened too much. On the flip side, men who actually desire women are accused of being "sex obsessed" or a predator. If we want your heart, we're deemed less of a man; if we want your body, we're called too much of one. It's saying things their audience wants to hear so they can sell you a product. With the exception of Klavan, none of them exhibit any natural human behaviors anymore. They all talk like they're pushing talking points through so they can get to an ad or sell you DW+. This is quickly becoming the right wing equivalent of The Daily Show; appealing to a consumerist audience rather than a thinking one.
If you want a better example, go check out some of Ben's "impassioned" speeches about Israel late last year. It means so much to him, he has express how hurt he is by this terrible tragedy, yet he had to make sure he put an ad two minutes into each one.
I don't have a problem with ads, overall. I'm okay with people getting money for their work, but the way they handle ads is the most glaring example of their intentions. The priority of every DW video (that isn't a short made to appease the UA-cam algorithm) is an advertisement, not the views expressed, which means their message can be bought. The fact that all of them sound scripted, means they probably have.
BTW, that UA-cam aside I put in should also be a red flag.
