I don’t comment very often, but just wanted to say i love your channel. As a single man it helps me a lot to look after my house. You’re my mastermind of hygene and order
I watched this video and then went on to ranger-roll as much of my (and my partner's) stuff as possible. I found it works well for bulky/fleecy pants like PJs or sweats. Just folded down the waistband, folded in half, and rolled from the bottom. Thank you for sharing the technique with the world!
Very clever & cute. You remind me of my sweet niece. Good for you for 'making a go of 'uncluttering and straightening out people's lives--in the best way possible!
OMG! I learned the "ranger roll" watching someone's vid on YT. I thought I had gotten smart by doing it on my stockings. It just made sense. Lol! Glad to see I was on to something. Bonus... I also "ranger roll" my toddler's and 9 yr old's leggings. It's quite perfect!
The roller fold is really great for camisoles. . I do it for my not so nice camisoles (ones for working out and more fashiony ones) and I hang my nicer more frequently worn camisoles on velvet hangers. Works great. Thanks for the tip on sweaters. Long sleeves are always troubles to fold. Live your vids!
Lol, I've ranger rolled my clothes all my life. It's a great space saver in your luggage. Yes, but you are right it is hard to decipher between your shirts if you do have a lot of the same color. I only use it for my luggage and I wrap my outfits together and I already know what I'm wearing for the day of the week. That's a cool way to hang your jeans, yes I fold my jeans that way too. I worked in a retail store, so I retained the knowledge. I'm glad I know how to fold! Lol My grandmother would iron before she folded.
GREAT VIDEO! I redid my dresser after part 1. Not only did it give me more space, but makes everything easier to find. Now to do my stocking and jeans.Thank you!!
Thank you so much for these amazing tips, Melissa. The tip for hanging jeans/pants alone is worth the price of admission. I know I will benefit greatly from the sweater folding tip as well!
That sweater folding technique is exactly how I learned to fold tops when I worked in a high end department store many years ago! I still use it today, and for shallow drawers, bring the bottom of the sweater all the way up to the collar rather than stopping halfway, and then fold that in half so you have a nice compact rectangle vs. a square 😋
Awesome tips, as always! If you have any tricks for folding sports bras, racer back tanks or just work out clothes in general, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for that stocking technique! It's that time of the year when I pull my tights out of the storage box and now I know how to fold them so that they are no longer a tangled mess. Would you show us how you store your gloves, mittens, scarves and shawls during the winter? Henriette
I immediately paused this video and went to re-fold my boyfriend's entire boxer drawer. It took me maybe 10 minutes and looks SO much better. The drawer closes easily now too! I also really loved the tip about how to hang up jeans. Thank you so much for this video!
I will admit to buying the folding apparatus made famous by Sheldon (Big Bang) and I love it as every shirt is folded the exact same width in my drawers - I even bought the mini one for my kids. I live the W hang, implementing that this week!
You have completely blown my mind with the [sorta] ranger roll for tights - I have a lot of tights and fancy leggings that are a pain to store. Standard rolling doesn't do the trick - especially for my fleece-lined tights since they're thicker. I might also try this with my fancy (BlackMilk, Bombsheller) leggings because right now I just have them folded on a shelf but the slippery material makes them difficult to pull from the middle... though if you have any better suggestions for leggings and other spandex-y material clothing, let me know!
Hey Guys!! I had to comment on this video because I gush about the pants on a hanger fold to anyone that comes in my room. I could go on all day about how much advice I have gotten from your channel. It was such a treat to meet you both at Novo today, I am so proud of my restaurant and I was tickled to get to welcome you both and make your drink Chad. Melissa, I got a chance to see our picture and I just love how petite you are, I am always told how tiny I am, but I think you give me a run for my money, makes me smile :-) I would love to know if you come back to SLO, I would love to take you to dinner on the patio, with the twinkly lights on and the frogs going on the creek... nothing is better. Seriously best day ever, you two have a lot of great energy. Have a great rest of your tour through california. Lots of love!! logan
I need to reorganize my huge messy wardrobe tomorrow and this was so helpful! I'm definitely going to watch the other folding video as well! Thank you so muchh
I just did the ranger roll with my nighties (night shirts) and i've got so much more space in the drawers now! Have you got a video about folding pajamas so that the shirt and the trousers are together?
Melissa! I love your videos, I can't tell you how much they inspire me. I have a question, I hate, detest, abhor folding clothes. But.... I gotta do it anyway , so I wanted to know how useful is a flipfolder? Is it a worthwhile purchase? Thanks a lot
Very useful tips !! Thanks sooo much !! Most of my clothes are done this way !! Even though it's out of the topic can I ask u where did u put ur hutch now?? I love that piece :) we got an antique dining set recently . we need to refinish it a bit .wud sanding n varnish do ??
krishnapriya The hutch is in the dining room now....but we are going to sell it because we don't need it anymore. I LOVE it but it doesn't serve a purpose. It's too large for our dining room and we have nowhere else to put it. I want another family to get it and love it!
omg, hanging the pants thing is gonna be a lifesaver for my closet lol Although sometimes I put 2 pants on the same hanger.....but I think this would be much neater and they won't fall!!
Caitlin Cooper Leggings can be folded in half, then rolled. I do this with mine, and it makes it easy to tuck in your sock drawer without worrying about wrinkles.
how to fold fitted sheets for a bed. that would be cool. theres gotta be a simple solution, and your videos are always fun and inspiring. thanks for taking the time out of your day to share your thoughts on cleaning. love and light. blessed be clean my space 🌛💫🌜💜💚
Okay now I've been inspired with both of these videos. Have you done a packing a suitcase video and how to fold clothes to minimize wrinkles and save space? Thanks.
I like that you included pros and cons! I was thinking of those cons about the ranger roll especially. Personally, I hang all my family's shirts, which makes it easy to find the one we're looking for and minimizes wrinkles. We're lucky enough to have the closet space to do so though. Otherwise I'd use that popular drawer trick. =)
How to fold mattress sheets (bed sheets?)! Especially the ones with garter on the corners. I have an idea on how to do it but maybe there are other ways?
Hey Melissa, I have been watching for years and have yet to see this. How do you fold a hoodie? Some hoods are bigger and some smaller and they are just hard to fold. Mine always look like a ball.
OMG, those W-way of hanging the pants, clever, might have to start doing those! totally agree all the CONS that you mentioned about the first fold-technique especially that I have so many same-color clothes, would be a pain to open all neatly rolled-shirts just to find the one that I was looking for, and the stretching concern is major cons too ..
Are you still using the circular belt/scarf hanger that you showed in the Sprig Cleaning bedroom closet video? Do you like it?? I found a scarf hanger that almost looked like a 6-pack rings but I couldn't decide if I like it enough to buy it. Is it better to hang rather than fold scarves?
I know this video is a few years ago but ooooh, tight folding is fab hahaha :) was so fed up of my pairs of tights taking over my sock drawer - no more a problem :D
After I watched your video, I left a message that informed you I was so inspired I was going to re-do all my drawers to get some much needed space. For the most part everything worked okay until it came to my husband's polo shirts. He only has 4 tee shirts and the rest are polo shirts. They don't seem to folding as well because they have the collar. Any suggestions?
Hi Melissa! My question is both a folding and packing one. How to fold (and then pack) shirts and blazers in order to avoid those nasty wrinkles at our fancy destinations? Thanks!
Hi Melissa! Love you and your channel so much! I just wanted to leave a comment because I've noticed recently you've really changed the pace of your vids... you've started speaking soo fast and, although it's cool to get cleaning done quickly, it sort of makes your vids have a little more stressed of a tone... you used to be more... slow and sardonic, haha, but you've become more fast and suuuper energetic. Nothing wrong with a little energy, but don't be afraid to take your time!! I like to put you on in the background when I clean (which I think a lot of your viewers do) and when you go soo fast it isn't as relaxing lol :) Still am a huge fan though, just wanted to point out that your pace had changed because I figured you wouldn't notice since it's yourself!! (Does that make sense?) Also, Canada rocks! :)
Samantha Midgley If you have alot of items to fit into a small amount of packing space, I love using The Bundle method of packing. It economizes space like no other packing method. Thank you for that stocking technique!

Awesome vid!!! Hope you make more folding and closet organisation videos!!
I will admit to buying the folding apparatus made famous by Sheldon (Big Bang) and I love it as every shirt is folded the exact same width in my drawers - I even bought the mini one for my kids.
I live the W hang, implementing that this week!
Love the stocking and jeans folding. Will incorporate with my children's clothes. How do you fold bedsheets of all sizes especially crib size?
So glad you have true cleaning for simple diy cleaning 🤗🔆

Great vid. Melissa how do you fold sleeveless maxi dresses ? I like to keep mine in a drawer since they never wrinkle (jersey knit) material.
MsMalika64 Really! I always hang mine! I'll figure it out though!
your pillows are the cutest!
jeeva1996 Thanks so much!

Any suggestions on how to fold (nylon type) running shorts? And shorts in general? Thank you for all your tips!!
I love your channel! Could you show how to fold bigger, or bulkier sweaters? Like hooded sweatshirts or winter sweaters that are thicker?
I need to reorganize my huge messy wardrobe tomorrow and this was so helpful! I'm definitely going to watch the other folding video as well! Thank you so muchh
Margherita Glad we could help!
Love your videos. How would you fold fitted sheets and putting the sets together?
I just did the ranger roll with my nighties (night shirts) and i've got so much more space in the drawers now! Have you got a video about folding pajamas so that the shirt and the trousers are together?
In Greece we hate wrinkles! Therefore, we hang everything we wear outside and fold the rest. I love your videos! I admire your personality.
Melissa! I love your videos, I can't tell you how much they inspire me. I have a question, I hate, detest, abhor folding clothes. But.... I gotta do it anyway , so I wanted to know how useful is a flipfolder? Is it a worthwhile purchase? Thanks a lot
Great video as usual guys. Do you have a technique for folding hoodies?
Your videos make me so happy..😀
How do you fold fitted sheets! Love your videos!
Love your videos!!! So what is the best way to fold and store sports bras :)
Hi Melissa great videos! I'd love to know the best way to fold hoodies (hooded sweaters / zipper hooded sweaters)!
Great tips! My Linen always likes new ideas!
I love that jumper you have at the end 😊 xxx
I love your pillows !!
I did the hanger trick for pants and that was great. It really added a little more space in my husband's closet because it lays more flat.
I am so chuffed to learn that the way I fold my stuff is, in several cases, exactly the way Melissa folds her stuff. *beams with pride*
I'd like to know how to fold round table cloths, please! Also, the pros and cons of folding vs hanging your clothes. I loved the W hang.
MehleMe 123 Good one!
Very useful tips !! Thanks sooo much !! Most of my clothes are done this way !! Even though it's out of the topic can I ask u where did u put ur hutch now?? I love that piece :) we got an antique dining set recently . we need to refinish it a bit .wud sanding n varnish do ??

stefania825 Yes, I really love this method!
How to fold: leggings, hoodies, athletic pants, tank tops/sleeveless shirts. I want an entire encyclopedia on how to fold! It's so helpful.
Caitlin Cooper Oops! Just saw you already did tank tops. :P
Caitlin Cooper LOL - yes did tanks - leggings and sweats can be folded the same way I demo'd the jeans being folded (not hung LOL). Enjoy!
Caitlin Cooper Leggings can be folded in half, then rolled. I do this with mine, and it makes it easy to tuck in your sock drawer without worrying about wrinkles.

Caitlin Cooper yes true

What is a good way to "fold" a bra? Or how about a button up shirt, hoodie, or sweatshirt? Thanks! Great video!!!!
Definitely button down shirts!
Mrs. W We covered the bra in the last folding video we did and for the other items I'll cover next time!
I was going to ask the same thing!
Nice ideas, thank you for sharing your videos...❤️
Hey Melissa, I have been watching for years and have yet to see this. How do you fold a hoodie? Some hoods are bigger and some smaller and they are just hard to fold. Mine always look like a ball.
I would love to know how to fold sheets, ya know, the ones that you put on your bed first. Thanks so much.
OMG, those W-way of hanging the pants, clever, might have to start doing those!

I found a scarf hanger that almost looked like a 6-pack rings but I couldn't decide if I like it enough to buy it. Is it better to hang rather than fold scarves?
Christine Yamane I have it still, I mean it works - I don't think it would be better or worse than anything else!
you are awesome clean and tidy up things I love your channel thank you
Melissa! I love those pillows on your bed. Where did you get them? Or is this a DIY?
Please do a video on stinky washers. After you have neglected them from the beginning. Much appreciated! Love your videos! Thanks:)
Christine Aguilar We've done one already and have another one coming soon :)
The boxer short method also works really well for Soffe shorts. :)
You are so such an inspiration....going to go clean my room now! Bye👋
Nellia F. Aww thanks!
I love your method for the stockings!!! no more just balling them up and throwing them in the drawer >.
***** Exactly!
I have dozens of scarves. Do you have any suggestions on how to fold them and keep them neat?
I know this video is a few years ago but ooooh, tight folding is fab hahaha :) was so fed up of my pairs of tights taking over my sock drawer - no more a problem :D
So I'm gonna go and fold my tights now. Thanks Melissa :) I'll see if the method is good for stockings too ;)
Alicja Adamska Awesome!
Nice tip's for boxes
I am redoing my sweater bin!!
The W hang is genius...I'm going to rehang all of my boyfriend's jeans!
***** I LOVE it!
Ive never had trouble with folding but i watched this for the hell of it.
I would also like to see a video on how to rotate, fold and store seasonal clothing.
I really like your pillows 👌
Hi Melissa! My question is both a folding and packing one. How to fold (and then pack) shirts and blazers in order to avoid those nasty wrinkles at our fancy destinations? Thanks!
Hanging of jeans that way is a good idea !
hey Melissa super job
You are adorable. You're my favorite cleaning and organizing UA-cam channel. The boxer shorts were great!
(Does that make sense?) Also, Canada rocks! :)
Could you talk about tips for cleaning for allergies? Thanks!
Lilly Anderson Love that idea - thanks!
fabulous ideas thx!
I would love to see a video on folding hoodies and sweat pants. thank you
I use to have to have my entire closet full of my day t shirts but now I can put them in 1 drawer thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need a video on packing tips! I'm taking a trip to Utah on June 11th and I have no idea how to neaten up my messy suitcase! :(
Samantha Midgley If you have alot of items to fit into a small amount of packing space, I love using The Bundle method of packing. It economizes space like no other packing method. If however you do not have to pack a ton of items into a carry on, and you prefer to keep organized, you may want to pack in outfits. Using dry cleaning bags to place your garments in before folding or rolling keeps wrinkles to a minimum. I think Melissa must have done a packing video in the past, but I'm not 100% sure. Luck and love.
Samantha Midgley If you just do a basic roll, (Ranger Roll without the lip) and secure it with something like this:
www.thegrommet.com/travel/rollnband-space-saving-packing-aid
then you've got it started. You can make your own with some ribbon at least an inch thick, just remember to put some sort or indicator on one side so you know what's clean and what's dirty. You can use packing cubes, or empty, clean makeup bags to organize into outfits, or by article. Hope this helps, and good luck on your trip.
