First off thanks to HoBao for continuing to build nitro vehicles! Keep nitro alive! And also they do have a good reputation, some of their past vehicles were definitely popular, along with their engines. And as much as I’m not a fan of a pull start, they definitely have done more than anyone else in making it easier with the addition of the handle to use and not just a small ring. It also sounded great on its first start, the settings were on point, idled smoothly, and if you were to throttle that baby up I’ve no doubt that it would impress! I like the factory color scheme and that’s not a common feature that I’m usually a fan of. But they look great! So I must say to Hybrid, well done good sir! Nice pick, and I’m awaiting that day when she’s been fully broken in and can be turned loose! Would love to see what that .30 can do! Keep burning the nitro guys and gals!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love HoBao my cage buggy it's 12yrs old and going strong. It has some good upgrades and the 6 port MacStar .28 is nice especially with the rotor start back plate a very underrated brand.
Looking good, don't forget to check and make sure all screws are nice and tight on new rtr models.. Breaking in at those temps, I would recommend a couple baby socks(that's what I use) or similar to keep the heat in the engine. Long live Ofna/Hobao!!
hey my dude! You know I put the ultimate NitroGang RICH & Loud tune on this after this video, lol. I recorded a good running vid too, should be out soon, NitroGang!.
Hey my friend!! Yes, that giant green pull-start handle comes with all new HOBAO models. Pretty useful and keep the chassis clean since you're not constantly trying to fit an annoying plastic handle under the body lol, right..
hey my dude! Thanks! This one is not mine, but I'm happy to be able to help some fellow Nitro Friends out with their break ins lol. Works good for us both, cause I dont need to buy it, lol you know!>
And you’re the most consistent viewer and commenter!! But most importantly a ur a positive person who supports nitro even tnough i know you mostly run electrics in day to day life! Thats the trully sickening part!! Thank you 🙏🙏
i like it, buuuuut, that chain saw pull start gotta go, should come with bump starter box !! or direct drill start, big motor, turbo head plug is nice touch. good video
hey dude! thanks for checking out this video. Yes, the giant Pullstart handle is a tad comical, I agree. Although the upside is you're not constantly driving around with any pull-start handle of any kind, you know. Plus you could use any starter box for this too. The unique COPS Pullstart mechanism does not have a constantly dragging one-way bearing either. thanks!
Good observation bro, I eventually stiffened up the suspension on this Truggy. There will be a good follow-up running video for this thing soon, this one was just the first start and break in video, you know.
can i give you some advice mate. loosen the plug to start the hyper 30 engine mate or you will snap the pullstart easily. i have gone through 3 before i learned dude :)
hey bro! that is great advice and hope people who read the comments section here see this comment. To give you some background I will tell you that the plug was about half a turn out when I was doing this, I just did not mention it because I was low on battery life for this video.
@@hybrid32494 yeah dude no worries 🙂 pull starts are expensive 30+ pounds here and the cord is super weak. the hyper 30s compression is way too much for the cord (even on mine which i run sometimes 4 times a week a couple of tanks at a time), i think they are only made to cope with a lower spec engine .21-.28 i think. I have the hyper vs2 .30 thats how i know about it. After Christmas now ill get those shimms for your hpi 5.9 engine head. I did try emailing you but must have gone to spam folder or something. Dont worry i wont forget 🙂 really appreciate the reply on here dude 🙂
If you like the Hobao Hyper SS truggy wait until you get your hands on the Hobao Hyper ST Pro truggy. It’s another level again! Thicker shock towers, thicker body, and the most over engineered diffs you’ve ever seen. They got the Tamiya of differentials! But they are metal not plastic. And they don’t break in the wind. OK maybe Tamiya was a bad analogy hahaha #CorporateNitro
hey bro! good question. I would say it would work but it's not the best fit. The issue you will have is that the savage uses a pipe mounted to the other side, while this hobao it's flipped and mounted like all buggies. This means unless you want to get creative with pressure line mounting I'd look for a pipe that is designed for a savage, you know. But this will still fit.
@@hybrid32494 Sweet that’s cool to hear. I ask because one is a 2 point something and the other engine says F 4.6 They seemed both similar in size the pipes I mean. Ya man Revo 4.6 with Steele forward and reverse gears and that pipe on the side fits great. Even the stock mount from the buggy’s muffler fit right beside the servo mount screw 👊😎 It needed a little leaner tune to run this pipe other then the plastic one but I feel the stock Savage pipe pumps more low torque at lower speeds This pipe makes the truck seem to go faster more evenly if that’s a thing. It seems to make the power More controllable

I was always afraid to run my nitros in the cold bc I don’t have a heat gun so and I have a kid so looks like I’m stealing one of her old socks 😂😂
You are the Nitro King, hook your buddy up and get it broke in and tuned for him 💯
hey my dude! You know I put the ultimate NitroGang RICH & Loud tune on this after this video, lol. I recorded a good running vid too, should be out soon, NitroGang!.
Looking forward to seeing more of this truggy
thanks bro! im going to be editing the running video soon, Nitrogang!.
great video hybrid.. that pull start handle is a cool idea .

love it dude. keep it up.
Great review hybrid. We need a taco bell Thursday live.
Clean! Sickening 💯
thanks my dude! NitroGang!.
Great lookin truggy👍
Thanks bro! There will be a good follow-up running video on this thing soon, this was just a quick First-Start video. NitroGang!
That thing is sick!
That’s a beautiful nitro!
Thanks bro! More on this HOBAO soon, a nice track running video with some speed runs are coming your way! lol.
XMAXX has a big block motor too 1275 KV baby haha
hey bro! Well you're not Incorrect, lol. It's a BIG Electric Block! loll. True.

Suspension looks soft but Im curious to see how it goes. Hobao makes a lot of cool buggys and truggys

It's a nice looking trucky
Nothing like a first start

I really want this truck just can’t seem to pull the trigger on it parts availability scares me
Hey my dude! Yes, parts support is a serious issue with the HOBAO brand in general. It's certainly nowhere close to Traxxas, and not even HPI.
isn't that the hat cousin Eddy wore in Xmas vacation? Cool stuff
Same guy in Independence Day movie....I PICKED A HELL OF A DAY TO QUIT DRINKING....😅......UP YOURRRRRRRSSSSSSSS

I kind of want the Hobao Truggy but I don't want it as the RTR. I would much rather buy an 80% chassis and build on myself.

Any issues with keeping engine tuned compared to the Mac Star.28 on the buggy version?
Will that exhaust work well with a 4.6 motor. Like the HPI Savage engine

Hobao is pretty big over here bud most of time most models in stock
They’re very high quality cars some of the electric vte speed builds are insane
I like traxxas ❤❤❤ sleyer pro 3.3 ❤❤❤❤❤
I love the hat ..nice
Nice truggy quality, crappy engine…alpha .28(t850) with a mid-range alpha pipe(2159) from lutzrc. She will be a blast
You are a riot!
Thanks man! I'm just glad to be able to bring some Sickening NITRO entertaining to the world!!!
Which would you prefer? Losi 8ight Truggy or The Hobao SST? 🤟
HO BAW O :P
