Bombardier Baja X DS650 2004 oil change with issues

This is my sister's ATV that her ex boyfriend wouldn't give back and then she was told he drained the oil and ran it to blow the engine and screw her over. I'm not familiar with this set up but just drained the oil to check things out for her and go from there. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable with this particular ATV can share some advice.

Thank you for the advice. I still need to pick up some oil and a filter to finish the oil change. Also needs a new battery to get it running and see if there was any damage doen or if the shavings were just clutch material. Hopefully it will be fine.

I'm really hoping those shavings are from the clutch or trans since it shares the engine oil. I'm going to pick up a new filter for here and put some new oil in and start it up and see what happens. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the advice.

i added oil to can am ds 650 oil is pushing out the bleader line does this mean i dont need to bleed from oil filter area and how do i get it to stop leaking out

The two plugs put the engine in top dead center when timing the cahin and adjusting valves just pull off caps and thats wt there for

You missed drain de most part of oil from de front oil tank

Yes I was wondering I got the same bike and it fires up but after a min of being going it shuts down any suggestions on that the battery is also bad we have to keep it on a charger just to try getting it going

Brandon Browne I have a bombardier ds650 I'm also having an issue with that but I changed the voltage regulator and now I'm changing the stator if it works I'll let you know.

Brandon I had the same issue I changed the battery out and it stays running there are days it takes a long time to start still haven't figured that outb

Dan Aulenback possibly needs a valve adjustment. I had a different atv that was especially hard to start when cold. After valve adjustment it starts like a new one.

Gold flakes from this Rotax engine is not normal and means the lower rod bearing is going to fail shortly... Right main bearing Journal maybe.

The copper flakes is from the crank bearing. Not good
