I was running a scan to connect my grandkid's tablet to my phone. I clicked just as a new access point popped up with OBD and the brand of a car in the SSID. I accidentally connected and the loud hotrodded car that was pulling up had its engine quit! Maybe a coincidence, but it would not start until I had the iPad connecting to my phone. It makes my wonder what could happen if someone was actually malicious...
Close on 6 years and still worth watching. One question, is aardvark also @ArdJect and if so, what ever happened to him? Plus @D4arkm4tter needs to do more videos on his channel!!
Phones will scan at intervals, like every 1-2 seconds, so they will miss a certain amount of networks. If you have a couple of phones, then they will be scanning at slightly different intervals, so they will each catch some unique things. Experience has shown that each phone will have around 8-15 percent unique each.
I do understand the gripe, most of the slides are hard to read, but you can download the slides from Def-Con. It is kind of a PITA, but often there is more info and extra slides in the download, but even so I do wish I could download better quality videos. Maybe Def-Con should ask those who attend and rent booth space how much they would pay extra for higher quality video to be publicly released? Or maybe a Patreon channel where we can pay for better video quality - I would definitely pay $5 a month to get at least 1080p resolution on the Def-Con library... Then again I have no idea how much the sales of the higher quality videos generates for the conference.

Hahaha. Love the comment about the tar options. Not a single time do I not fuck that up the first time I type it :)
why is it beneficial to use multiple phones while wardriving?

crazy stuff.
I will never understand how these talks are recorded and uploaded in the lowest quality possible, but are listed at 720p "HD".
720p is resolution and resolution != quality.
Dude stop complaining

Jason Wright clearly you are a moron and not capable of processing the content of the videos anyway. Good riddance.
