Thanks for that Luke. My mother came from Chalk Farm but she and my grandparents moved out to the suburbs after being bombed out during the war and never returned to live there.
@heliotrope6217 Hi there. No problem at all, glad you enjoyed. Ah rite, a,lot moved out due to bombing + slum clearances after the war. This is a fascinating little patch of London, & still more to come, from Bermondsey.
From australia. Several years ago was walking all around that area without knowing about the history. I love it. We have no history going back that far over here. It just blows me away. Thank you.
@roncasperson1312 Hi There. Its a great little area, isn't it! We are spoiled for history, in London. I'm with you on that = even having lived in London, all my life "the history & beautiful architecture = still amazes me." No problem at all, really glad you enjoyed the tour + thanks for the lovely comment.
To a foreigner who's never been to London, but knows exactly what the real London looks like, the city skyscrapers on the left of the Tower of London do absolutely not belong.
@somerandomvertebrate9262 Hi There. I get exactly what you mean! I guess, us Londoners have "just grown used to them." I definitely prefer the old, over the new though = much more charm & character.
