Welcome back, almost same situation(IT industry) in Malaysia for this 3years, working from home life some good and bad, but really save alot for my incoming travel plan, more delay more travel fee saving, especially now Japanese yen is droping very low. Cant for japan border open, feel bored every weekend go genting highland to feel the cold weather like Hokkaido.
Same man! Can’t wait for Japan’s borders to reopen. Me and my wife are just watching and waiting for air tickets to drop then we will run back to our usual haunts haha.
I am also facing the same issues, left my job earlier this year to upskill to go into a different sector, and life is just getting more and more expensive. Sometimes I wonder how I will cope especially when my salary isn't good.
I feel like the trick to keeping up with salaries is just to keep jumping to a new company every year and asking for a 20% increase each time. Seems like hiring budget is always more than retention budget at HR.
@@halfhalfsg yea, i alrdy cut out the ZX6R from the stables because the annual taxes and insurance was higher than my other bikes. Getting kakis is a bit luck based haha. All my closest friends and the crowd i hang around are not riders unfortunately.
@@ReizePrimus i see, then gotta find ways to cut the cost of fuel like making the weekly trip to malaysia to pump, lots of fun to have some alone time too, cheers
fully agreed with what you said. My wages have only increased by 3% while inflation is 5% and rising. Finally took the leap and found a new job that pays slightly more. Maybe its time for you to take the leap too?
True that mate, I fully intend to take that leap myself in order to keep ahead of the curve. But right now I’m keeping my ears on the ground for a new job that I can at least tolerate working at. Nothing worse than taking a 20% increase but can’t stay for the 2 years needed to prevent being called a job hopper.
@@ReizePrimus hahaha, if you interested maybe we can come out for a coffee and a chat about it. Am happy to share some tips on job hunting. BTW, I am not a job hunter or insurance agent looking to sell you something, just want to talk to a fellow struggling singaporean and learn from each other.

Its cheap to own bikes when there are no other obligations. I'm 26 and a student with 4 bikes.
my suggestion is get rid one 1/2 bikes and get a "throw away bike" thats a cheaper overall
+ you should find riding kakis to go to malaysia to have an escape for a bit, really fun
