    Hi sis. I followed ur recipe exactly and it turned out perfectly..I made alcohol infused fruit cake as per ur explanation. The smell is divine. I couldn't get premium molasses at my plc but manage to get normal molasses. Thank you soooo much for ur kind sharing. So happy sis.

    Hi sis, I made this cake twice and it turned out well. I used soft brown sugar and organic coconut palm sugar for the dark colour. Thanks for this recipe 👌

      Hi Isvari. Glad u try this recipe. At first memang keras a bit. Let it rest for few days. If you like poke the cake with satay stick and pour like 1 or 2 tbsp rum or brandy. Then you can get a soft top. Top and bottom as well.

    Baked this cake last night. Tastes lovely. A bit crumbly. I think it's because the butter was the 227GM pack and the eggs were medium size. Great recipe. Thank you.

      After Christmas I fed the cake with brandy on alternate days till new year and the cake turned out to be awesome. Husband and daughter too enjoyed a lot.

    Sister, I wanna try this recipe. But I dunno the measurement for yogurt. Can you pls advice sister?

      Hi sis. I havent done with yogurt. Anyway if you want to try with yogurt, take 1/2 cup full yogurt. Beat first using a fork or whisk. Make sure you buy supermarket yogurt. I like to recommend farm fresh or nestle yogurt. The quality makes a difference. Add half cup first, if you find the cake batter similar to mine in the video then it should be enough. If not you add further 1 to 2 tbsp until you get the similar texture.

      Hi . Try to substitute 1/2 cup of yogurt or butter milk for the vegetarian version. I think that should be enough. Sorry for the confusion. 🙏

    Hi...lovely cake. I noted you added only baking powder alone and not baking soda... does adding baking soda...give out some bitterness?

      Hi angel. As you can see if you check out my other cakes videos i have not used baking soda. I personally dont like the taste as it will give a funny taste or feel at ur throat after eating the cake. Thats my personal view. But many are using it. It should be good i think. But i try not to use it. You can if you like

    Looks so scrumptious. Sis can we pour warm water on mix fruits to get rid of the sugar and soak back in RUM? Please let me know. Can I do like this method?

      Hi Caroline. The juice and sweetness frm the dry mixed fruits will add more flavour. But if you prefer less sweet you can do the process of course. Just dont cook the fruits too long.

      Better use all purpose flour. Self raising flour the fruits might drop to the bottom or even after bake the cake is loose. Uthiri uthiri ya poirum sis

      @@sudeshnarajasingam1857 all purpose flour sis. Not super fine. Tepung gandum. I use tepung gandum cap sauh ( the anchor ) brand. Thats good enough

      Hi Cikgu. You can take 1/2 cup yogurt or buttermilk. Make sure good quality yogurt. I like farm fresh or nestle greek yogurt. Mix the yogurt first with a whisk or fork then add to the cake. Room temperature

    Hai sis.I already boiled the fruit yesterday and keep in a glass jar...How many days can I keep the soaked fruits at room temperature ....i taught to bake the cake this friday....is that ok?

      Hi isvari. Boiling fruits to make fruit cake is a short cut way of making fruit cake. Once boiled no need to store. The other method is soaking the fruits. Only if you soak u can keep few days or at least one day. Boiled fruits can make cake straight away

      Hi sister Shamini. The muscavado n molasses sugar you can get in Jaya grocer. Muscavado maybe can get in other supermarkets as well. But the molasses mayb a bit diff to get. I bought in Jaya Grocer.

      2. Using all molasses sugar is also ok
      3. Usually soaked fruits can be added straight to cake. It should be soft already.

      Hi sis. Like i mention in the video the fruits and the other 3 main ing ( flour butter sugar) can be roughly same. Means 1kg fruits, u can take 300g EACH of flour butter n sugar plus 5 eggs. Use a bigger cake tin.

    Thank you for the lovely fruit cake recipe. I would like to try this recipe but with the Sri Lankan fruit cake twist, hence could I use 250 grams of sugee flour + 1 tablespoon corn flour instead of all purposes flour? Thank you in advance x

      Hi there. I hv not tried making this recipe with sugee. Hence im not confident enough to advice you on that. But again when i think about it , i think it should be alright. Only diff might be the texture. Sure you can try. Happy baking. 👌

      @@sivahomecook thank you for your swift reply. 😃 In terms of yogurt/buttermilk, I google-d 4 eggs in cup measurement, it showed 3/4 cup + 1 tablespoon, is this alright? Thank you once again and so sorry for asking questions. I am excited to try the vegetarian version of your cake.

      Yes it should be good. Just follow the google measurement. Mix the yogurt first with a whisk or fork then add to the cake. 😊😊

      @@sivahomecook thank you for your reply 😃 I have tried making vegetarian fruit cake few times using similar recipe as yours, except the amount of flour is 4 cups ( 2 cups all purpose flour and 2 cups sugee flour) and 2 cups milk as egg substitute. Unfortunately, each time I bake, it kept breaking. I think I finally know why it breaks, it's suppose to be 2 cups flour only. Thank you for teaching us on how to make a lovely fruit cake !

      @@believep1909 yeah as you can see i hv mentioned the ratio of fruits and the other 3 main ingredients. It doesnt matter if you're making a bigger or even a smaller cake as long as we follow the ratio of the main 3 ing and the mix fruit . As you can see my cake had cracks too at the top. But thats ok i guess.. and sometimes sugee cakes will have cracks. My other veg sugee cakes will have cracks on top too after i bake it.
