    Amazing howto. I love how the teacher just gets right into it without making unnecessary outlines and useless chatter. It's packed with info, but a little fast for us beginners. Regardless there's a ton of info to mine from this using the spacebar pause. Thank you!!

      @@nixonmanuel6459 key strokes are not shown, it's a nice showcase but hard to follow even at x0.25 speed. If the purpose of the video is to demostrate how good and fast the tuber is, fine. Tutorial-wise? not so. My point of view of course.

    4:48 One caveat is that nearly all of these models are in 3DS format, which is very old†, and the Blender importer is pretty much orphaned. I have done my own hacks to this to try to improve things.
    †How old? “Triangles, triangles, triangles!” That’s how old.

  • @3dMistri

    hey bro, many times dxf import fails so i will suggest to first export the dwg file to pdf (vector format) and then import that pdf into inkscape so you can export that into svg format which is very well supported by blender. also make sure to export only essential walls and data so you can have better snapping time. other details you can import as image planes/references.
    Another way i will suggest is to enable extra-mesh addon which lets you add single vertex (that you can assign a shortcut to it. i assigned Ctrl+Shift+A), also enable Snap(Increment as well Vertex), Now from wherever you want to start simply hold Shift and Right click, the 3d cursor will snap to vertex after that press CTRL+SHIFT+A to add single vertex, start extruding the vertex to trace the walls, floor or any and then press A to select all and F to fill it, press S Z 0 to flatten the plane. If you still dont understand please let me know.
    anyway i created a playlist "Blender Gems" and saved that video in it.

    • @HATL201
      @HATL201 Рік тому

      That's a really good idea. Upvoted! As someone who uses Inkscape a lot, I can confirm that the SVG method works.
      Just to add to that, if you have a picture of a floor plan. Import it in Inkscape and use "Trace Bitmap" functionality in Inkscape to transform that to a vector. Save it as SVG. And then import that SVG in Blender.

    Just one question, can I make apply a texture to the walls without applying the modifiers?

    • @Blemonade1
      @Blemonade1 2 роки тому

      Try adding a mapping setup with ctrl+t and plugging the object to the vector

    • @lawrencedoliveiro9104
      @lawrencedoliveiro9104 2 роки тому

      Texturing is a problem with this non-destructive extrusion approach.
      Another way is to create the walls as zero-thickness meshes and use a solidify modifier. Then at least you get proper UVs, without needing to apply the modifiers

      Good Question Buddy 👍.
      As you can see in beginning of this video all models are saved in one file library. and i am working in feet and inches (Physically Accurate) and all models and downloaded first and Merged in one Piece then scaled Accordingly to Real world scale.( like bed and sofa are 6 feet long) and i saved this file as Library then importing them with real world scale into floor plan file.
      Yes it takes time to make whole library but its one time investment then you can make many plans...
