Great video, I really like the way you presented the (very difficult to explain) concept. Focus is something almost no one talks about. I 100% agree that great aim supplements the efficiency at which you apply your crosshair placement. However, it's important to understand that if you have insane aim but are unable to apply the aim properly (ie bad placement), there is no dice. Therefore I believe it's better to understand how to apply it correctly first, and then make it more efficient afterwards through aimtraining (unless you have genuinely never held a mouse before and have vegetable levels of aiming).
Hey Fishychair! Glad you enjoyed the video :d I totally agree with you on this. Learning how to use crosshair placement conceptually isn't too hard, so it is definitely more efficient to at least understand the awareness principles (as someone starting off). However, the wall where people fail to grow past is definitely the point when aim, self-awareness, and focus become much more relevant. I think a lot of people, when they hit that wall, struggle to realize that aim is the key because everything they learned so far is technically some form of micro game sense 😅
Bro 10:12 was like you're in my head lol. Brilliant video. Genuinely. I really appreciate your educational content because you always have unique takes on everything, and do a great job explaining it all.
One crosshair placement trick that works both for cs and valo : If u are at an obvious angle then place your crosshair close to the edge of the wall/angle from where the enemy might peek. That's because the enemy will most likely jiggle/slow-peek that area. But if you're at an off-angle, keep your crosshair at one inch (cs) or a little more than half an inch (valo) from the wall/angle from where the enemy might peek.
@@matthewccrocker This counter works well in CS but not so much in Valo as the movement speed in Valo is slower compared to CS. This may work upto Plat. But Diamond and above, anybody with good enough aim won't fall for it. In such a situation, they'll rely on their flick rather than crosshair placement.
Awesome video! I've never seen you edit like this in the past; it looks INCREDIBLE and is very enjoyable to watch. Not to mention, the video itself is incredibly informative yet incredibly concise as well! Thanks for that! 4:38 had me rolling with the sound, as it reminded me of a certain Vsomeone wink wink (sorry that was terrible)
I totally agree and i've been thinking about this during my own journey climbing to immo+. My conclusion was that good crosshair placement compared to bad crosshair placement isn't all about where your crosshair actually is placed, but more importantly, what is happening in your head, which i think you called focus in the video. And in my opinion, focus is the single most important factor for aiming after someone has already understood the basics. If you have to think about where your crosshair is/should be/will be, then you will more than likely not hit the shot your going for, because you're distracted by your crosshair. I learned that focusing on the actual enemy/target you're shooting at, instead of your crosshair, is always superior than watching your crosshair, even if that means your crosshair placement looks worse on screen. Ideally your crosshair should be in the right place without you having to actively think about it, so your sole focus can be on the target you're trying to shoot. The whole concept of "perfect" crosshair placement is a myth anyways, since in almost every fight during a match it is impossible to place the crosshair exactly where the enemy head is popping up, which means you have to adjust anyways. tldr: crosshair placement is a habit you shouldn't actively be thinking about during a match, you whole focus should be on the actual target/character model you gonna shoot, not on your crosshair/crosshair placement. This also helps with speeding up the process of clearing angles and makes it less likely to get surprised. The actual accuracy, e.g. what people would call "good" crosshair placement, simply comes from practice, and NOT from focusing on it directly.
@@augtober It is, but for some reason almost every guide ever says "aim is all about crosshair placement". I think the bias comes from the fact that kills with "perfect" crosshair placement feel so easy and satisfying, that people think every kill should be like that. And well, good crosshair placement IS super important, but it comes more from simple practice and understanding angle advantages, than it comes from "practicing" it. And then again, angle advantage is all about the knowledge where you yourself are positioned compared to where the enemy is positioned, still don't need a crosshair to play off of that.
i noticed a bit upgrade in my gameplay when i started actively focusing on my crosshair (im s2/s3) but then it was draining and enemies were kind of slow in my rank. what i wonder is, how can you not actively focus on something and pretend to get better? cause i'm still spraying like an idiot when i'm scared to lose a gunfight, negative KD, and it got to be the main reason i'm stuck. i practice on range but i feel like the improvement is veery slow if any. i know that to improve in something you have to actively focus on fixing what you're doing wrong but then i'm slow af trying to put my crosshair on enemies heads. did you start focusing on enemies to get better?
@@justcalcio747 Go into a DM and only play guardian as a warm-up. If you notice during a game you start spraying again, hop into range afterwards and hit bots with the guardian for 2 minutes. In order to use bursts and taps consistently you have to have good movement first and aim second. Learn to counterstrafe, watch a video about angle advantage and peeking, try to apply ingame. practice counterstrafing in the range against bots. Don't get frustrated if you die or whiff.
I'm so f***ing happy I subbed here to see this masterpiece video. You're a legend dude. I struggled with this problem ever since a friend of mine taught me cross hair placement. I feel like I used to have better crosshair placement before he taught me because it was my own self taught adaptation to my valorant. And I was already ascendant with my own unique mechanics. Now I'm still stuck ascendant but I'm actually worse because I mixed up my intuition with information I learnt from people and a lot of it is taught poorly even though I'm sure the coaches' intentions are good.
i really appreciate the guide ! valorant is my first FPS and i've just started playing the game a few weeks ago, and easy guides like these make me feel less like i'm never going to fully understand the game lmao
Damn I was really going into this video expecting for the title and content of the video to be semi clickbaity but this was genuinely a great video that really did change the way I look at crosshair placement from a fundamental level
The only thing what seeing where I’m lacking off. To get to gold is the confidence. And I do feel sloppy. I did build up my reaction time for a year and I only take breaks every week due to education. I just need to practice all three fundamentals between attacking and defense. That’s the only struggle I have, otherwise I do setup very interesting utility. And my timing is improving. Crosshair placement is what I lack the most. This very helpful royalG
Love playing Yvette. Great tips here and learned a lot. I didnt know Lawine's knife didn't scan her stealth, and I always thought her bear wasn't practical to use as a wall since I'd use it from too far away. I want to play her again right away!
4:55 This really opened a new perspective for me. No shit that i can't copy and pull off some risky plays in my lobby that other radiant players hit off. And every rank has a new stage i guess. Climbing to bronze was a nightmare for me. But i just improved my reaction time, then in bronze i improved my crosshair placement. Now that im in Silver, im starting to get owned by the gold players now. I have to find out the characteristics of gold players now, then plat, then diamond and so on.... its a constant grind. You don't suddenly get better and hit immortal by aim improvement but rather you NEED TO CONSTANTLY IMPROVE EACH TECH AND MECHANICS OF THE GAME ON EACH RANK
More than a 100$ for a program is unjustified ESPECIALLY if it’s for fucking valorant 🤦 4 figures usd is quite literally 2-3 courses of TRADING IN REAL LIFE which has HUGE RETURNS.
I've done some coaching in other games and this makes a lot of sense. Well done video. i clicked on the vid bec i had a feeling that this will be something deeper and i wont hear shit again i have heart million times before in coaching videos. ty
One thing I notice with typical aiming guides is that they'll tell you how to do crosshair placement, awareness in map, leaving a gap based on your reaction time, and all that shenanigan. However, when I put it in game, it did make me improve, but not that much. I realize that as much as crosshair placement is important, my adjustments will be based off my skill, and my skills still are not yet that great. I got to Gold by mastering spray, but I got to Plat by playing it smart. Now I am 50 points away from Diamond and I can tell you, it takes time. Sometimes others are just better than you, and that's okay. We all wanna enjoy the game, and we can get better along the way.
okay if you guys need to learn something, royalg is probably the one to look for. the mechanics are carefully shredded and explained to you properly. great vid keep up the good work man
This... This video right here is the "True ideal of crosshair placement". The definition you said "Crosshair placement is to use your aim preemptively remove (or rather reduce) the need of aim" and "Why can pro hold angle that you can't seems to make work, to put it simply. Your Aim Suck" Hits really hard and hold SUPER true. I hit the level where I feel very hesitate to peek when all I have to do is just put crosshair to the common angle and shoot. Literally all I have to do is improve my raw aim because in the end of the day. It's First Person "Shooting" game. This video really means a lot to me thank you RoyalG keep up good work!
Man, youre preaching to the choir. I was climbing in valorant and hit a plateau. I finally took the plunge and hit up a coach to try to push past it. Ome of the advices he gave me was to focus more on crosshair placement, and not worry too much about raw mechanics. While i felt smarter about the game after his sessions, i still wasnt climbing, and it was because i was losing every gunfight. I decided to go back and find a new aim training regime on aimlabs and i feel so much better in gunfights again. At the end of the day, aim is the name of this game.
For people confused I’m gonna explain it as best I can (English isn’t my first language so sorry for errors) basically he is saying that crosshairs placement isn’t a substitute for aim it’s the placement of your crosshairs and your character to set your self up to let your aim thrive
What's funny is, is that I have always seen those two separately and never thought that crosshair placement would be a substitute to aim. Both have massively improved compared to how I started.
4:50 ok i just ranked out of iron, i would go for the demon 1 crosshair placement then whiff my entire mag, switch to my sheriff, miss all that, then just go knife fight if i hadn't died yet
My val advice? You just learn through experience, through success, and through losses. Adapting to what reflexes, aiming or strategies didnt work, to adopting what did work for YOU is the most key thing. the reason Valorant is one of those games that has guides on it for how to improve is BECAUSE its a game not meant to be mastered in a day. Meaning the best way to find your rhythm..step ONE..is have enough time to play Val to figure out your strengths and kryptonites. In terms of agents, weapons, maps and your approach to combat, then improving apon those.
hi! great video and i absolutely agree with what was said, but i think i can offer some insight for those who came here that might be looking to improve on their crosshair placement. a common thing that i think most high elo players dont think about (and another reason why for example, trying to mimic demon1 doesnt work for you) is that people play differently at different levels. what i mean by this is that for example, you might see a radiant or pro player hold a common angle very close and while u might miss this shot because you dont have the same reaction time, you might also miss this shot because the higher elo player will jiggle this angle, or at least not swing as wide causing the higher elo situation to give you more time to react without adjusting your crosshair; meanwhile in a lower elo setting, the enemy is more likely to swing much wider and hence you should probably adjust your crosshair to be further from the angle. you need to kind of actively adapt depending on the players youre playing against and i believe this is something not often mentioned. to elaborate further on this, pre-aiming angles absolutely dont work the same between for example radiant and diamond, and id go as far to say as its very different between even radiant and immortal 3. playing reyna a lot, i often use off-angles to my advantage to get an unexpected kill and then get away; and this is commonly used in higher elo so sometimes it can actually get pretty predictable and is where jumpspotting and things like "slicing the pie" become pretty useful, or where you can very fast get hard-countered by characters like skye, sova or kayo. meanwhile, i find that i actually die a lot in lower elo to people playing off-angles not on purpose. ie a lot of lower ranked players will position themselves in a lot of strange angles that you wouldnt expect and while this might work its often not the correct play. hence in lower elo, the application of crosshair placement is not as important as raw aim id say, since most people dont position themselves well. another reason why you might be struggling can be because of ping. the difference between just 20 and 50 ping can be huge sometimes, so sometimes even though youre doing everything correctly, it could just be a server issue, or they had higher ping and saw you before you could see them for example. it happens. to finish off, let me give you some small tips that might come in useful - blending angles something i do very often is "blending my angles" and what do i mean by this? so sometimes you might find yourself in a situation where you can get peeked from more than one angle, and if possible, you should try to position yourself in such a way that they blend together so that youre holding both angles without having to move your crosshair. this might not be something you can always apply, but there are definitely situations where this is useful. you know when youre holding something and you keep bouncing your crosshair back and forth between angles? try to think if you can position yourself better so you have to move your crosshair less. - countering movement so this is something i struggle with when i switch between accounts. people move very very differently between different elo, and of course theres exceptions, just like to everything ive said so far, but predictive aiming is what i believe applies here. an easy tip is that a lot of players like to spam adadad, you probably do this too, and so do i from time to time. to counter this, you can sometimes just let a player run back into your crosshair, ie you hold kind of in the middle. this one is difficult to explain and helps a lot more in games like overwatch where the time to kill is higher but its definitely very applicable in valorant as well. another point that mostly applies in somewhat higher elo is holding for a jumpspot; if you think someone is going to jumpspot, position your crosshair a bit higher up and you might get away with a headshot, this isnt something id recommend if youre below immortal as it wouldnt apply very often, but if youre a higher rank holding for example c long on haven from platform you might get a few kills with this. - adapting your crosshair placement depending on gun or playstyle this might seem like an obvious one, like aim for the centre of mass with the operator or shotguns etc etc, but it goes deeper than that in my opinion. for example, if im playing with the guardian or the sheriff, ill keep my crosshair at head level usually a little higher than normal, like just above the nose maybe? but if im playing a gun like the vandal or god forbid, the phantom, ill actually aim a little lower just because i burst a lot, so it kind of naturally recoils into a headshot. the difference is pretty miniscule and might be hard to notice if youre not thinking about it, and it might not be for you either! i believe a kind of meta like this existed for the sg back in cs, and theres videos analyzing players on astralis like xyp9x aiming "low", its all personal preference though. - actively thinking about how youre aiming so this one might be a bit controversial and hard to apply for some people, but its what i find helps me the absolute most, and it kind of sums it all up for me. but trying to always actively think about where my crosshair is changes a lot for me. it really helps me stay calm and not just breaking out into a panic spray. kind of visualizing how youre going to get swung, or where the enemy is going to move to and just trying to keep it all in mind whilst just being calm. theres no magic tip or secret to this one, it just comes with practice i think. adapting ingame to the way the enemy swings and moves and just keeping everything in mind. sometimes this might feel a bit overwhelming when you also have to focus on the game itself, as well as everything else thats going on in the match like being aware of the minimap and callouts and util etc, so mix around with it a bit and if you get kind of zoned out because youre overthinking, dial it back a little; but always try to be at least a tiny bit aware about where your crosshair actually is, instead of just autopiloting like royal mentioned in the video. i believe that this is something thats very overlooked but something everyone in higher elo does but maybe subconsciously at times. i remember cs pro swag talking about this in an interview a very long time ago, and i remember when it finally "clicked" for me, and i immediately thought back on that interview i had seen years prior feeling like i knew exactly what he meant. i feel like this ties together the aiming and gamesense parts pretty well though, they dont always have to be seen as separate parts of the game. of course even if you integrate everything here perfectly, youre still going to lose gunfights and games time and time again. theres no secret tip or anything thatll give you aimbot, and even then, people with aimbot have lost games before. but hopefully these things can help you become a better player and help you win more games.
Maaan, thank you so much for the subtitle, I'm brazilian and don't understand very well spoken english (fast spoken as daily life), the subtitles r very helpful, thanks a lot, mate!
I reached GM in aimlabs and throughout my journey I learnt dat not thinking about ur aim makes u a lot better at aiming , if u keep on thinking about ur aim then u focus less on ur enemy or target and end up not being able to aim properly which in turn makes u think that u have bad aim and u r like "oh I have become bad, maybe I should practise more" , there's a lot of mental things going on there too
you still need to micro adjust even if it is perfectly placed because you don't know how far the enemy will peek around the corner. that's where dynamic aim comes in. flick on target, short tracing period, confirm target. it's just very different to what they are trying to tell you that you don't have yo move your mouse, when you have perfect crosshair placement.
Ya i dont understand whats so hard… i went from bronze 3 to ascendant 3 in a year by practicing: 1. Predicting the next angle im fighting 2. Positioning 3. Putting crosshair on target trying to maintain the T rule 4. Crosshair on target, stop, shoot 5. If whiff, do not move mouse just side strafe burst or deadzone 6. If target goes opposite direction: micro adjust 7. If not: kill 8. Always consciously being a hard target to hit and only shooting when crosshair is on their head

100% agree and also wondering why people didnt say this before because i always felt that trying to mimick good crosshair placement was itself incredibly difficult even if i gave myself more time. Guess it's back to the labs again.
4:55 also, if someone is peaking a close angle all game, its more reasonable to hold the angle based on how the enemy is peaking, if they peak wide and your holding a tight angle and cant react that fast, etc
My weakness is having decent crosshair placement but bad holding position reaction time so instead I rely on making flick/micro adjustment reaction aim plays instead of just Being Normal
8:50 is why I got better when I got my super light. The mouse is faster with those adjustments. Valorant is all about input control. Anything that improves your input timing or accuracy will improve your gameplay.

Oh my god you just made me grow a few neurons. Its not about the crosshair, its about the enemy you should be expecting. This seems so obvious now!
I was in the same boat in May last year, and I've seen so much improvement as I've put in the hours and played consistently. Keep grinding!
Damn I was really going into this video expecting for the title and content of the video to be semi clickbaity but this was genuinely a great video that really did change the way I look at crosshair placement from a fundamental level
Best video I have ever seen yet about this topic
The only thing what seeing where I’m lacking off. To get to gold is the confidence. And I do feel sloppy. I did build up my reaction time for a year and I only take breaks every week due to education. I just need to practice all three fundamentals between attacking and defense. That’s the only struggle I have, otherwise I do setup very interesting utility. And my timing is improving. Crosshair placement is what I lack the most. This very helpful royalG
related to this comment a lil too hard

Love playing Yvette. Great tips here and learned a lot. I didnt know Lawine's knife didn't scan her stealth, and I always thought her bear wasn't practical to use as a wall since I'd use it from too far away. I want to play her again right away!
Thanks royalG you helped me a lot with this. Things you say make sense and you fix my knowledge about the things i got told wrong. King

This really opened a new perspective for me.
You don't suddenly get better and hit immortal by aim improvement but rather you NEED TO CONSTANTLY IMPROVE EACH TECH AND MECHANICS OF THE GAME ON EACH RANK
for anyone who seems hopeful about the immortal roadmap program thing (me). Their price is in the “4 figures USD” range in case you’re wondering 💀
fr who tf gonna let their 13 yo kid in there💀
It’s pretty crazy
More than a 100$ for a program is unjustified ESPECIALLY if it’s for fucking valorant 🤦 4 figures usd is quite literally 2-3 courses of TRADING IN REAL LIFE which has HUGE RETURNS.
I've done some coaching in other games and this makes a lot of sense. Well done video. Honestly I understood 100% of everything you said and I must say bravo because it's very key eye opening information that WILL excel a player. Understanding fundamentals is important like understanding a mathematical formula.
Oh my god this is actually my exact problem with clearing sites put into words thank you
Amazing content. 👍🏻
Finally you are back with more educational content rather than these challenges.
Honestly, the guides are much better *imo* .and it's why I'm here originally.
Looking forwars to more helpful guides of yours 😄
i clicked on the vid bec i had a feeling that this will be something deeper and i wont hear shit again i have heart million times before in coaching videos. ty
Thanks for the guide it helped me a lot to improve my aim 😭
After watching this I went for few Deatmatches and dropped
29/11/10 in compi
One thing I notice with typical aiming guides is that they'll tell you how to do crosshair placement, awareness in map, leaving a gap based on your reaction time, and all that shenanigan. However, when I put it in game, it did make me improve, but not that much. I realize that as much as crosshair placement is important, my adjustments will be based off my skill, and my skills still are not yet that great. I got to Gold by mastering spray, but I got to Plat by playing it smart. Now I am 50 points away from Diamond and I can tell you, it takes time. Sometimes others are just better than you, and that's okay. We all wanna enjoy the game, and we can get better along the way.
frfr.. its all about mindset and keeping things within own skill not giving in ego and getting mad
okay if you guys need to learn something, royalg is probably the one to look for. the mechanics are carefully shredded and explained to you properly. great vid keep up the good work man
Thank you for posting another informational video! Always great. Much love big man
This video has cleared up so much misunderstandings, thank you so much royalG u r the best val coach by far.
Thank you so much royal this seriously opened my eyes to several problems i have while in game I now know how to fix those issues great video btw!
Wait these are actually some DAMN good points.Well Done man
very true, i would imagine a lot of people feel this but can never put their finger on it.
Thank you for this, no one has shared this before and now im more aware of it
Man, youre preaching to the choir.
I really love fishychairs crosshair placement guide, and this one is right up there too!
Well done brother, incredibly usefull guide!Thx for your spent time to improve us
4:50 ok i just ranked out of iron, i would go for the demon 1 crosshair placement then whiff my entire mag, switch to my sheriff, miss all that, then just go knife fight if i hadn't died yet
You're very right man. But nice job making a 4 minute video 11 minutes. You literally just said the same thing over and over.
this is for the people who are slow or have low comprehension. just very detailed
Wow, let's clap for you for understanding it better than other in shorter amount of time! Clap, clap, clap.
i needed to hear all of that, thank u
My val advice? You just learn through experience, through success, and through losses. Adapting to what reflexes, aiming or strategies didnt work, to adopting what did work for YOU is the most key thing. the reason Valorant is one of those games that has guides on it for how to improve is BECAUSE its a game not meant to be mastered in a day. Meaning the best way to find your rhythm..step ONE..is have enough time to play Val to figure out your strengths and kryptonites. In terms of agents, weapons, maps and your approach to combat, then improving apon those.
Im not fluent English and I’m so glad that you did a subtitle by yourself!
hi!
great video and i absolutely agree with what was said, but i think i can offer some insight for those who came here that might be looking to improve on their crosshair placement.
a common thing that i think most high elo players dont think about (and another reason why for example, trying to mimic demon1 doesnt work for you) is that people play differently at different levels. what i mean by this is that for example, you might see a radiant or pro player hold a common angle very close and while u might miss this shot because you dont have the same reaction time, you might also miss this shot because the higher elo player will jiggle this angle, or at least not swing as wide causing the higher elo situation to give you more time to react without adjusting your crosshair; meanwhile in a lower elo setting, the enemy is more likely to swing much wider and hence you should probably adjust your crosshair to be further from the angle. you need to kind of actively adapt depending on the players youre playing against and i believe this is something not often mentioned.
to elaborate further on this, pre-aiming angles absolutely dont work the same between for example radiant and diamond, and id go as far to say as its very different between even radiant and immortal 3. playing reyna a lot, i often use off-angles to my advantage to get an unexpected kill and then get away; and this is commonly used in higher elo so sometimes it can actually get pretty predictable and is where jumpspotting and things like "slicing the pie" become pretty useful, or where you can very fast get hard-countered by characters like skye, sova or kayo. meanwhile, i find that i actually die a lot in lower elo to people playing off-angles not on purpose. ie a lot of lower ranked players will position themselves in a lot of strange angles that you wouldnt expect and while this might work its often not the correct play. hence in lower elo, the application of crosshair placement is not as important as raw aim id say, since most people dont position themselves well.
another reason why you might be struggling can be because of ping. the difference between just 20 and 50 ping can be huge sometimes, so sometimes even though youre doing everything correctly, it could just be a server issue, or they had higher ping and saw you before you could see them for example. it happens.
to finish off, let me give you some small tips that might come in useful
- blending angles
something i do very often is "blending my angles" and what do i mean by this? so sometimes you might find yourself in a situation where you can get peeked from more than one angle, and if possible, you should try to position yourself in such a way that they blend together so that youre holding both angles without having to move your crosshair. this might not be something you can always apply, but there are definitely situations where this is useful. you know when youre holding something and you keep bouncing your crosshair back and forth between angles? try to think if you can position yourself better so you have to move your crosshair less.
- countering movement
so this is something i struggle with when i switch between accounts. people move very very differently between different elo, and of course theres exceptions, just like to everything ive said so far, but predictive aiming is what i believe applies here. an easy tip is that a lot of players like to spam adadad, you probably do this too, and so do i from time to time. to counter this, you can sometimes just let a player run back into your crosshair, ie you hold kind of in the middle. this one is difficult to explain and helps a lot more in games like overwatch where the time to kill is higher but its definitely very applicable in valorant as well.
another point that mostly applies in somewhat higher elo is holding for a jumpspot; if you think someone is going to jumpspot, position your crosshair a bit higher up and you might get away with a headshot, this isnt something id recommend if youre below immortal as it wouldnt apply very often, but if youre a higher rank holding for example c long on haven from platform you might get a few kills with this.
- adapting your crosshair placement depending on gun or playstyle
this might seem like an obvious one, like aim for the centre of mass with the operator or shotguns etc etc, but it goes deeper than that in my opinion. for example, if im playing with the guardian or the sheriff, ill keep my crosshair at head level usually a little higher than normal, like just above the nose maybe? but if im playing a gun like the vandal or god forbid, the phantom, ill actually aim a little lower just because i burst a lot, so it kind of naturally recoils into a headshot. the difference is pretty miniscule and might be hard to notice if youre not thinking about it, and it might not be for you either! i believe a kind of meta like this existed for the sg back in cs, and theres videos analyzing players on astralis like xyp9x aiming "low", its all personal preference though.
- actively thinking about how youre aiming
so this one might be a bit controversial and hard to apply for some people, but its what i find helps me the absolute most, and it kind of sums it all up for me. but trying to always actively think about where my crosshair is changes a lot for me. it really helps me stay calm and not just breaking out into a panic spray. kind of visualizing how youre going to get swung, or where the enemy is going to move to and just trying to keep it all in mind whilst just being calm. theres no magic tip or secret to this one, it just comes with practice i think. adapting ingame to the way the enemy swings and moves and just keeping everything in mind. sometimes this might feel a bit overwhelming when you also have to focus on the game itself, as well as everything else thats going on in the match like being aware of the minimap and callouts and util etc, so mix around with it a bit and if you get kind of zoned out because youre overthinking, dial it back a little; but always try to be at least a tiny bit aware about where your crosshair actually is, instead of just autopiloting like royal mentioned in the video. i believe that this is something thats very overlooked but something everyone in higher elo does but maybe subconsciously at times. i remember cs pro swag talking about this in an interview a very long time ago, and i remember when it finally "clicked" for me, and i immediately thought back on that interview i had seen years prior feeling like i knew exactly what he meant. i feel like this ties together the aiming and gamesense parts pretty well though, they dont always have to be seen as separate parts of the game.
of course even if you integrate everything here perfectly, youre still going to lose gunfights and games time and time again. theres no secret tip or anything thatll give you aimbot, and even then, people with aimbot have lost games before. but hopefully these things can help you become a better player and help you win more games.
ive never written a comment even remotely this long idk whats wrong with me
It's okay, H....you're a bit autistic. But I still love you?@@lisdexamfetamin
Thanks for the tips
Shit is spot on tho and im almost immortal 2
first time I see good content about what I always thought about crosshair placement but never knew how to explain it
This video actually made something click in my brain and understand what I need to improve on the most now, actually a great guide
Maaan, thank you so much for the subtitle, I'm brazilian and don't understand very well spoken english (fast spoken as daily life), the subtitles r very helpful, thanks a lot, mate!
hey! i’m not a native speaker, and i really appreciated the effort to the captions. It helped me a lot
This video consists of 11 mins worth of fluff and only 58 seconds worth of useful information.
This is why I came to the comment section. 5:00 and he’s still talking about “information other videos don’t give” so get to the point already tf lol
Okay Mr Bollywood mumbai server. Whatever you say.
@@i-gotchu-fam wtf u mean by Bollywood mumbai server, r u confederate ex slaver, is tht y ur racist?
I reached GM in aimlabs and throughout my journey I learnt dat not thinking about ur aim makes u a lot better at aiming , if u keep on thinking about ur aim then u focus less on ur enemy or target and end up not being able to aim properly which in turn makes u think that u have bad aim and u r like "oh I have become bad, maybe I should practise more" , there's a lot of mental things going on there too
thank you so much bro! you're savior!
Thank you for this video. It really helps
you still need to micro adjust even if it is perfectly placed because you don't know how far the enemy will peek around the corner. that's where dynamic aim comes in. flick on target, short tracing period, confirm target. it's just very different to what they are trying to tell you that you don't have yo move your mouse, when you have perfect crosshair placement.

[00:01](ua-cam.com/video/fSS5TwHZnkY/v-deo.html&t=1) Crosshair placement is essential for aim in Valorant.
- Crosshair placement is a fundamental skill that affects gunfights.
- Many guides misunderstand the depth of crosshair placement.
[01:29](ua-cam.com/video/fSS5TwHZnkY/v-deo.html&t=89) Crosshair placement is crucial for efficient aiming.
- Crosshair placement aims to minimize aim adjustments during gunfights.
- The application of crosshair placement is deep and practically confusing.
[03:01](ua-cam.com/video/fSS5TwHZnkY/v-deo.html&t=181) Efficient gunfights require minimizing time to kill
- Crosshair placement minimizes aim adjustments and predicts enemy movement
- Understanding and improving crosshair placement goes beyond surface level tips
[04:30](ua-cam.com/video/fSS5TwHZnkY/v-deo.html&t=270) Crosshair placement must adapt to individual skill sets.
- Individual limitations like reaction time, aim level, and focus impact crosshair placement.
- Reaction time and focus can be improved over time through practice, dispelling the misconception that they are solely genetic.
[06:00](ua-cam.com/video/fSS5TwHZnkY/v-deo.html&t=360) Crosshair placement is more about mechanical aspects than just awareness.
- The community often treats crosshair placement as a substitute for aim, but it's actually the mechanical aspects that differentiate good and bad placement.
- Good crosshair placement allows for more efficient and smooth clearing of spaces, while bad placement leads to rigid and less efficient gameplay.
[07:32](ua-cam.com/video/fSS5TwHZnkY/v-deo.html&t=452) Crosshair placement is about using aim preemptively to remove the need for aim in gunfights.
- Focusing too hard on aiming may result in being caught off guard and losing focus on what's happening in front of you.
- The level of aim and crosshair placement determines the maximum effective pace in the game.
[08:57](ua-cam.com/video/fSS5TwHZnkY/v-deo.html&t=537) Crosshair placement should consider leadup to the moment for efficiency
- Aim quality impacts effectiveness of Crosshair placement adjustments
- Micro adjustments can lead to missed shots and affect confidence
[10:25](ua-cam.com/video/fSS5TwHZnkY/v-deo.html&t=625) Crosshair placement is about using aim efficiently
- Improving aim is crucial for better crosshair placement
- Crosshair placement is a tool to enhance aim, not eliminate its importance
Somehow i got perfect crosshair placement when i started the game which gave me more time to train my aim and reaction time and that helped me a lot
bro turned into vsauce for a sec
this makes so much sense actually
You coach now, sick! Too bad it's the one month I have no money. Will sign up soon for sure.
Thank you for this good sir!
11:24 omg this sentence made something move in my brain 🤯🤣
Conclusion:
To get better, train more.
You got my problem guy, i almost miss my shot just bs i was forcus on crosshair placement that down my reaction time
At this point i probably just never moving my mouse and only using the movements keys since it’s always placement and waiting for people to get in your crosshair
100% agree and also wondering why people didnt say this before because i always felt that trying to mimick good crosshair placement was itself incredibly difficult even if i gave myself more time. Guess it's back to the labs again.
This surelt adress what holding me back during holding and angle. THANK YOU
"knowing where to put your crosshair isn't enough, you need the mechanics to put it there quickly and precisely"
This video is amazing and I love you
4:55 also, if someone is peaking a close angle all game, its more reasonable to hold the angle based on how the enemy is peaking, if they peak wide and your holding a tight angle and cant react that fast, etc
You did really good job of extending video as much as you can you said one useful thing then repeated it for 11 minutes lol
yo i finnaly understand why im dirt 2 now (no fr actually makes sense and good vid)
I knew it! A lot of videos with this topic aren't deep enough compare your video. Other videos trying simplyfy crosshair placement
Ty i needed this

Before anyone jumps out and says "Well Coach Hooj said aim doesn't matter."
Noted that Hooj said this on the premise that you do aim training every day, so yes it is important, just don't let this become your only focus.
Hey RoyalG, I love your videos! Could you explain how to find the best sens for yourself? I always get told that I should be able to do 1 smooth movement to do a 180, but when I get to that sens it always feels too fast for me. Keep up the great work!
hey! what helps me is just picking a sens that looks good and then going into a deathmatch or a tdm and test how it feels, how well you hit your shots and how well you can make microadjustments
i always assumed aim = crosshair placement. I didnt realize people actually thought it was two different things
isn't this the guy who made it to immortal classic only? I trust bro
Confusing, unclear, but valuable.
I completely agree with everything you say and it's how I've always thought about the game. People in the valorant community overcomplicates things sometimes :/
I wish you could swat down this misconception in the Val subreddits. They straight up say the smallest part of val is aiming
9:53 I completely agree bcuz I keep my crosshair perfectly but these micro adjustments get me sometimes. I would have damaged the opponent like 80-120 always and i freak out that time
I just started playing this game this week and I gotta know…is everyone a freaking coach?!
Makes sense, I agree 👍
"Let's get straight into it" >spams bullshit for the rest of the video.
Ok well then what would you define “aim” as? Mouse control? Flick accuracy?
The black overdrive and riot buddy goes so hard. I have that same combo 🤤
This was one of the best Valorant videos I have ever seen. Keep up the good work G.

me thinking im clear minded before i peek the top fragging smurfing jett in my diamond-plat lobby:
the 100 voices in my head: im aboutta end this man's life
As a Wooj viewer, it feels like nothing new -
But for the majority of Valorant players, great video!
10min of royal calling me ass in Valorant
4:37 love the vsauce reference lmao
This makes sense. You guys all know tenz the face of valorant. How did he get his game sense + crosshair placement. BECAUSE HE HAS BETTER AIM THAN MOST OF THE GUYS in the pro scene
love u bro
maybe im just missing something or had higher expectations from the title, but I'm 8 minutes in and it feels like he's just saying a whole lot of nothing over and over again for anybody who has even an intermediate understanding of the game
same... we got clickbaited
Bro is just yapping 😂
corny
It’s funny, my skill in game followed the way you explained crosshair placement. But my knowledge of crosshair placement was incorrect in the way you described.
this vid is on point
I think its moreso most low elo players focus on actively aiming when enemies are on the screen rather than pre-aiming before swinging or slicing the pie.. because while i agree with what you're saying in the video, i think the messaging at the end will just send low elo players grinding out active aim again lol
Okay as a "Boomer" myself.... suggestions on fixing Aim?
Not me watching this while waiting in queue for comp ;)
