Wow, amazing job getting 'swoon' in 3, Doug! I took an eventful route with all kinds of variations. Thankfully, it came up on the 5th word. I had no letters highlighted on the starter, just as you did. My sequence... Auger, Optic, Moldy, Known, Swoon!

Excellent solve, Doug! This one felt a little like pulling teeth to me, as it took me five guesses to get it. But after the fourth guess, I only had one option remaining, so at least I wasn't in danger of blowing my streak. Whew! 🥵

This was one of those days where you finish feeling satisfied. After STARE and DOILY, my primary concern was what consonant would go in the second spot. I chose WHOOP next in order to test the likely candidates W, H, and P, and to also further investigate where the O might go. (The only downside was that it didn't test the U.) But it worked out great and just about gave me the solution. SWOON to save par.

Wow! That was great, Doug. It took me “5”today but, at least, I felt like I was in control. After “stare” and “doily” I had only “S” and “O”. Thought of scoop, shock, shook, snoop, and swoon. I tried “chunk” to narrow it down and had a 50/50 after that. Picked the wrong one. (Again! 🙄)
