My standard starting word STARE gave me so much info that it wasn't necessary to use usual second word (doily). Instead I went right into intel mode and tested C,H,N (strong candidates for the second spot) and did some further investigation on the T with the word CHANT. That pretty much gave it to me. SHAFT for the relatively smooth birdie three.
I happened to use the same opening word today, but I didn't have your luck, I had better. Picked SHAFT in two! But then, according to Wordlebot STARE left us with only five possible words to pick from, so we were absolutely guaranteed to win ...unless we went and picked a word that was already eliminated.

Ive suggested it a few times and i think i know why you're not choosing OUTIE as a starting word. When you look it up its not a valid scrabble word and therefore doesn't seem like it would be valid. However I promise it works 😊
