Hey, if I had the budget, I'd be going all out with this gear and more if it fits into my church's mandate of spreading the gospel globally. 1 million dollars for the salvation of even 1 person is more than worth it.
Wow, I've been the business for more than 35 years, and after watching these video's I learned so much more, I will be hosting a Ministry Media Watch Party training at my Church, here in Cleveland, Ohio, so that I can share what this video has to offer, Thank you for sharing. God Bless.
This is very impressive!!! Thumbs up for this skilled group of people who operates the gear just to spread good news of the gospel. Especially in these strange times.
Really awesome video! You (interviewer) asked all the questions I had in mind and you (John) really went in-depth with the explanation of the different gears and their functionality. This is a well-produced video. Maybe as a follow-up video, show us more of the video room, the video switcher, how you route & connect your cables, your recording devices, your FOH iMAG/screen choices, and all the other components of your setup. Again, this is a super-duper amazing video!
Can we have more neardy Videos like that? That's just the beginning of nerd talk und the beginning of getting interesting. But great and interesting Video. Thanks for the teardown. I really love your camera-setup. Greatings from Germany
It's actually pretty cost effective. Traditional broadcast setups 10 yrs ago were easily $30-40,000 per camera. The setups here are closer to $6,000 to $11,000 for their main setup. If you've got a big enough online congregation a $50,000+ production setup isn't crazy.
@@jeffsaffron5647 such an ignorant comment. name one business that pays "income tax." businesses pay tax on profits. churches are non-profit therefore the church itself does not pay. paid church staff pay income tax just like everyone else.

Hey guys, one note about the C70.... Now, in the video, you're talking about CLog 3 + a LUT. I'm assuming this means you're recording in CLog, but applying a LUT in camera before you send to SDI? So, that the livestream doesn't have a flat image. If that's the workflow, then I don't think a C70 can do that, unless Canon brings out a firmware upgrade. I think if you're recording log, you're stuck with outputting.... via HDMI.... a log image also.
Do you have anymore info about the camera risers and where to buy them (or how to build them) our church is having an issue with subs shaking the camera and sound team has to kill the subs. We’re using an intellistage platform
Hi !! What Ronin model is on the Dactyl ? We have a c200 and are looking into purchasing the defy Cadence ! But i cant seem to find that specific Ronin 😫
Hey, great video! I actually really appreciated the long one-take vibe so that we can really see where things are etc. Question: do the cameras run SDI all the way directly to the video room or is there some intermediary that it connects to first?
Awesome video Jake! I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for telephoto/zoom lenses for micro four thirds (Lumix G7)? Looking to mount the camera to the wall at the back of the hall (approx 50m from stage), it won't be very low light, house lights are always on and stage is well lit. If not Micro four third lenses, then what glass lenses would be good, and what adaptor/speedbooster would work? Budget is between £100-300.
Loved the video! How do you handle the latency between wireless and wired cameas? We recently starting integrating wireless units with the Hollyland 400S. We notice about a frame lag from the wired cameras. What do you use to sync the 2 signals?
The Hollyland 400S is an extreme low-budget option for wireless video transmission. Once you get up into higher-end Teradek/Vaxis units, the latency is gone/negligible.
Awesome video as always, Jake I would love to make two suggestions: 1. Any chance you can make a video or point to a quick and dirty glossary on video or camera equipment. Describing the C200’s bells and whistles was awesome... but I was still trying to figure out what the heck was a “Tally”... lol! 2. I would love to understand how Red Rocks or any of the churches with video/livestream setups onboard or train volunteers? Are the people behind the cameras already professionals or are they volunteers that are trained. If trained- formal video program or just tutorials? Finding volunteers for A/V in a small church can be pretty challenging. As we incorporate better elements into our service experience, we are trying to figure out how to onboard the volunteer staff successfully. Thanks
A tally is basically a system or a light that tells you that a certain camera is currently in the program mode or in a live mode. It tells the person in front of the camera that the camera is outputing the program/live output of the show. Basically in summary, they have cameras feeding wirelessly (TERADEK, Wireless Feed) into a switcher (ROSS). Then the switcher itself switches from different camera feeds with tally... So in a real world scenario when I switch to let's say CAM 1 and take it into the program view. The tally light will appear letting the person in front know that the camera is Live On them. Generally speaking all the cameras are ON. The term Live is just a quick term letting people know that the program output is on that camera. In a switcher there is a Preview/Program. Program is the Main output (Feeding into the livestream or any other sources.) If you are interested, there's a bunch of free resources out there regarding this. But if you have money to spend then I guess, join the streaming course that Jake has suggested.
Genuine question, Is there even a point to that big of an array? We have a JBL VRX system, that consists of two arrays, each with 1 flying sub and 4 speaker cabinets. Then two floor subs. And our space is much much larger and taller than this space.
They're solid and well built, we haven't had them long enough to see if they stand the test of time, but the video they capture is great. Yeah we use them with atem switchers, using the software to colour correct
can you guys show how u sync the all the cameras with the audio - is all the audio coming through via a mixer or does the camera have individual mics for each audio input.. thanks
Me again lol: Able to switch frame rates during the same broadcast????? how is that even possible and how does the switch reacts to it.. Great video by the way but I am really questioning that last statement either you do 24, 30 or 60 but going from 24 to 60 or 30 in the same broadcast feed I do not think that is an accurate statement. I would love to be wrong so please someone please correct me.
Its called variable frame rate, the video system is clocking at 60fps but the camera is basically choosing to “see” 23.98, 29.97, or 59.94 Frames. So it’s cool because you can switch frame rates in a moment without having to switch over the frame rates on all video equipment
