Pretty much a car just like this has been on my bucket list to own sense I was like 10. Probably because of Smokey and the Bandit ofcoarse. It's an unusually beautifully designed car for its time even with the malaise era bumpers. All the other brands of A-body cars don't really come close to this one. The 4 doors have a really cool door window shape to them. Hit me up if you are ever someday looking for an owner who will preserve it how it is.
You found a Gem! what a great car! How this avoided being turned into a Smoke and The Bandit Clone is beyond me......don't let anyone get their grubby hands on to it!!!! Four Door cars are so underappreciated....this is one of the best GM 4 door body styles EVER made!
Smokey and Bandit LeMans was a cop car which would have a stripped down interior to add on the police epuipement. My mom actually owned a police version 77 4 door with a 401. Hauled ass but was stripped bare on the inside. You could tell the cop cars from rear doorlocks inside the doorjam instead of up top where they normally would be. And you would usually see patchwork on the roof where the light rack was bolted.
what's also neat is that it's not so loaded with options....like there's no bumper rubber strips...over time the ware out and look awful.....your bumpers look so clean and nice
Jackie Gleason(late actor and comedian)drove one of these Pontiac LeMans as Sheriff Buford T. Justice in “Smokey & The Bandit”
My dad bought a 1977 Pontiac Lemans silver 4dr light blue inside brand new from the dealer around Dec 1977.ph the memories
I was searching up the 1977 pontiac LeMans but it mostly showed a 2 door design but when i put police car it showed me a 4 door design
the 4 doors are much rarer and the survival rate was very low
Nice car. Hope you still have it and continued to preserve it. Cars from this era are very under appreciated.
