A bit more emphasis on the prequels would have been interesting exploring those early storylines of Joan's death, Regs departure, Freddie The Frog's accident and Del and Grandad bringing up Rodney on their own while Trotters Independent Traders first emerged. Also I'd have liked to have explored the early years of Grandad and Albert. That's what's needed now rather than more and more episodes likely to go instantly stale due to deceased actors and actors that have aged gracefully but it won't serve the show any justice. Just look at David Jason's attempt to bring back Open All Hours. Jason is a phenomenon, always has been, always will be but that needed Ronnie Barker and Jason, Lyndhurst and the like need fresh comedies and dramas. If the public want Lyndhurst and Jason back together what about a comedy drama about maybe a rich and poor person thrown together or policeman and crook thrown together or something along them lines rather than same old same old. Only Fools is treasure, it's beautiful but for heavens sake it's done, most of the cast are dead. Let it shine and glimmer as king of the archives now. You know it makes sense.

It was also the episode where Uncle Albert was truly accepted by the public as Grandad's replacement. Before that, his reception was mixed. After his hilarious performance in To Hull & Back, everyone had universal love for him.

The writing was at its finest in them days. The dialogue even in this advert is miles better than the last episodes they done.
