- The Death Egg Robot from Sonic 2 returns to GaMetal, this time for a full rendition!
Every year around Valentines Day, I give my wife a song choice. Last year she went with Michelle's Theme from Tekken 2, and the year before that was Oil Ocean Zone.
This year she went back to Sonic 2 and brought out the big guns by choosing the Death Egg Robot theme. She told me this theme used to scare her as a child, but don't tell her I told you that.
This song did appear in the recent Sonic Fan Medley 2: Genesis Edition, so it was a lot of fun doing a full version.
This version is greatly influenced by the Generations remix(s), which has 3 different phases that get a bit more intense each time.
Especially the third phase.
So what's next for Sonic GaMetal? Yeah yeah, I know, Egg Dragoon. It's on my to-do list, don't worry.

Atma's metal style is so clean, has just the right amount of energetic drums, not getting into spamming territory, decent growl on the guitar, while keeping notes clear. And the usage of such diverse stuff like choir, synths, pianos, etc is just so damned good.
