I happened upon your video, i dont know how…but I absolutely fell head over-heals for Brucie! Started watching your interactions with him and then realized how wonderful your adventures were. Love your honesty about products. Hopefully, the companies will listen and start taking pride in their products. I love tent camping but at 78 have had to graduate to glamping with my daughter's help. Michigan, USA is a great state to camp, rustic and glamping. Also, appreciate the sound of rain anywhere, anytime.

@@ABCampingTony There are plenty of channels where the vids are 15 to 30 minutes, let them go watch one of them. The length is one of the things that drew me to this channel. So much nicer because it feels more like we are getting the full experience rather than just the highlights

I appreciate that! I honestly don't care about the manufacturers hurt feelings. I care about being honest with my viewers.
I agree, especially with the cost of gear these days. I was looking up just a simple cotton beanie because the polyester/knit ones make my forehead itch like mad, the price range for one single beanie was between $12.00 to over $500.00. And tents really must be field tested before you buy one. We have always used a tarp simply because most large tents (we have a large family) are not rated well for hard rain or snow. And if a tent says 4 people then you can bet it's only for 2. In foul weather you have to stow your gear inside with you. I am so grateful to Tony and all the others who do these field tests and endure hard rains, heavy snow and gale force winds. Tony, you are my favorite though because you hold nothing back.

I really like how the extra tarp really expands your space you have to camp with. I would not have considered that when I was actively camping

There are a ton of animals lovers...especially dogs. There are people who would love to be able to get outdoors & do what you do. Some of us have become slave to our jobs & responsibilities like you once were. So watching your videos we live through your trips & adventures. You are great at talking to us as if we are really there with you. All of those things have made your channel the success it has become. Glad you were able to make such a complete change in your career & are happy with where life has taken you to this point.
well, we all can invest some time in camping no need for expensive gear if you not going to take it to the extreme or going for a long hike in the wilderness, and to be true it is okay to pick a spot where you got the car nearby as a safe zone, I think most people find it a bit spooky the first time alone in the woods at night :) but you get used to it

I went from landscape gardening into looking after people with autism and then into nursing. Covid has just about destroyed me and my family and I'm now reassessing everything.

Bruce is the sweetest dog and listens so well. I hope that someday our Australian cattle dog will listen as well as Bruce. I think you should make chili it is a good cold weather food. You always seem to be so organized and very neat. Thanks for bringing us along.

I had a hard time getting my aucado to listen to me sometimes, he would come to me in his own time, so couldn’t have him off leash as much as would have liked! He was half bull terrier, so a big goofball 🤣

To those that think I messed up with that tent or I'm incompetent or something, that's your opinion from a keyboard. I've set up countless tents in civilian and military life. The tent is flawed. Nature hike know this which is why it's so cheap. Are all nature hike tents flawed? Of course not. But this one is. As usual enjoy the video and please be polite and respectful in the comments.

Recently found and subbed your site. In addition to the delightful sounds and sights, I really appreciate watching you set up your equipment and reviewing your gear. I, too, retired quite early in my career and have spent the subsequent years traveling and camping with my dog. I need to know how easy or difficult a piece of equipment is prior to investing in it and so, in addition to finding so much comfort listening to the sounds of nature and your dialogue, I am quite appreciative of your reviews. Good story, interesting. I oddly prefer camping in bad weather as well, especially winter camping with tons of snow. No bugs, no dust and an endless supply of clean water. And because snow is somewhat abrasive it makes cleanup easier.
After many years of watching youtube videos, I have never subscribed to any youtuber before; I even had to set up a youtube account to be able to post this comment. But I did because I wanted to answer your question. You asked why do we like camping in the rain videos instead of camping in good weather. This is important to me because I love camping in the rain, I camp every weekend all summer long, and I love falling asleep to your videos because it is peaceful, tranquil, and I love Bruce. I cant control the weather, so I cant always camp in the rain; but I can control youtube which makes me feel like I'm camping in the rain. Thank you for your videos, they are wonderful.
Love your videos, I am an animal lover and rescuerer. Love your interaction with Bruce. Keep the videos coming. I actually watched your 2 to 3 hour videos to the end. Just finished one of your 3 hour at 3 am this morning. Stay safe you and Bruce. You can't please everyone, so don't even try. Just focus on the positive and dismiss the negative. When I go camping usually the first night I roast hot dogs on the fire. For one meal I do a "hobo stew" in foil packet on the coals. That includes potato, veges and a meat.

The best tent that I ever had was a three pole gumdrop tent. Free standing, easy to set up, plenty of room for 2, could even fit 3.
Yes you can buy a stand -alone non-stick pan for the trangia 25. Or 27.
The nature is incredibly epic! I wish I could go camping there.

Unfortunately, I never had children of my own so I am not a grandmother, but I do have over 1500 elementary students over 42 years of teaching that I think of as my own. Lots of people don't like rain. With drought and fire danger in the American West, this wet channel will be one refuge. (This channel will still be great when rainy season ends.) I worked 3 years in eastern Arabia. Rain or snow, I never complain when fresh water falls from the sky. It is always wonderful.

Bruce is an awesome dog, makes camping so much better when you have a dog with you for company. The next time you are camping and there's a clear sky and the stars are on display, it would be awesome if you could capture it on video. Hey guys, Thanks for taking us on another adventure. I love camping, but I am not in a space where I can go at the moment so your adventures are always fun to watch. I don't care where we go, camping is fun. I am also super glad I get to see where you go and not have to pack all the gear in. Me and 3 hour hikes uphill, don't get along. I looked at the trangia site to see if they made just the sets of non stick pans and they do but many of them are out of stock at the moment, plus they didn;t say which ones would fit your stove so I can't send you the link, I just went to the official trangia site. Love these vids! Watching from London! Never tried or been into camping but every time i watch these vids they make me want to go out and give it a go. There is a certain calming effect which is love and you seem to have found a great niche! Watching your videos which are nice and simple not over edited etc are very refreshing and i love the quiet moments and the fact you dont cut bits out. Great video Tony and regards to the tent, very strange. I have the Naturehike Opalus tunnel tent which has 3 poles eliminating this sagging problem so i think a major design flaw with the cloud tunnel tent. Also. What fuel works best for you with the alcohol stoves? i got alot of black soot with Shellite.

Yes a non-stick pan is a must for pancakes or eggs. If you don’t have one make the pancakes smaller with a bit of butter in a fairly hot pan.

I think you are the best youtuber when it comes to camping in the rain. Your videos along with your cooking and Bruce makes me feel as if I were right there. Keep the bad weather videos coming. I'm not sure about camping rules here in the USA. The lock down here in Chicago comes to an end June 4th.

I think the best camps are always the ones in the rain as these camp outs appeal to so many people as the sound of the rain on the tarp is so relaxing and cosy and the rain and winter camp outs are my particular favourite's and i watch many of these on UA-cam and notice they always have the highest views and likes ....Great content and Bruce is adorable 👍🏻🌧💕🐶💫💫💫💫💫

Welcome back. The rain is perfect. I do miss a campfire , it makes me feel warm all over. 🔥 I’m glad Bruce made it this time. He is a beautiful dog.
