When I was a teen (mid 90s) the local surplus store had mechanic's style coveralls in this pattern. They were claiming they were US sniper coveralls for making ghillie suits, but they were obviously commercial made.

During Desert Storm most called them snivel gear, or woobies because it was cold, windy and we had little else for warming layers. They got passed around or stolen on a daily basis!

We wore them sleeping on the ground in the Sinai while assigned MFO duty in 85' 3/502 101st. They kept you warm hahaha.

When I was posting some GW stuff on Reddit, I was kinda astounded by that myself. Especially seeing some of the veterans - I was born on year after the war, and always looked at it as really modern looking.
Nowadays, more years have passed since the Gulf War, than the distance of years between the fall of Saigon and the Gulf War.

Now it is time for Uniform History to do a video about the Pakol. Its a Beret like headwear that is prety much only found in Afghanistan & some areas of Pakistan like Peshawar. It was popular among mujahideen back in the soviet invasion & afterward 2 famous people who wore it were Ahmed Shah Masood & Dr Tetsu Nakamura (not military, sinply a doctor who picked up engineering in order to irrigate the desert because his clinics were getting flodded & there was a serious droughy, as he said "access to clean water will contribute more than 100 doctors here".)

I started getting DNC stuff in 2014, I thought the pattern was cool as hell and all of the pieces were dirt cheap. Shortly after I found someone selling a size M like-new Adventure Tech 3 color desert/DNC reversible jacket, and I got it for $80, I love it so much and I'd wear it a lot. Then DNC blew up on Instagram with all the hypebeast guys and when I went to purchase a second one on ebay for a family member they'd already reached $250+ prices. Since then I've acquired a few more commercial pieces like the WRMFZY DNC reversible woobie pullover and a few others. My most recent purchases were both of those Jordanian jackets. I wasn't even aware of the blue tinted one until this video, and I actually just scored one of those after watching, hahaha. Thanks for the content, sir, it was a nice surprise to find a new video up and on my favorite pattern!

The fabric got surplused off as well. I have a comforter (a "duvet" for you Britishers) that's plain green on one side, and Night Desert on the other. It's roughly twin bed size. I picked that up at a flea in...gee, probably 1995 or so. Kept it because it's a neat pattern, and it's also stupid warm, as it's majorly stuffed with polyester fill like a jacket. No tags when I got it, but whateva, it's still very cool. And warm. You know what I mean.
