Listened to this and other covers several times now. Apart from what you are doing great in all other parts, I totally fall in love with those plays on the high notes in the bridge (first at 3:07). You do not only play them easy-sounding, but also very rhythmically, I would even say staccato. That gives so much additional power to this bridge, even more than in the original. You rule, Julia!

You can certainly feel JPG did too much in the first 2 minutes, but name me anyone who could make the last 3 minutes sound that dope. Tens of thousands of people will hear this track for the first time because she’s remixing it. View this as a remix. She doesn’t post that often, and when she does, people want to hear her go ham on a track. Because she’s consistently elevated tracks, and doesn’t miss.

I didn't know that this song has such a gorgeous bass line. After listening to the original it was most likely played on a Yamaha DX7.
But what you do with the fretless bass is phenomenal! Master class! Applause!!!
Correction: After some research it turned out that the original bass line was played by Guy Pratt on an electric bass and overdubbed with a Moog Minimoog synth line.

OH MY GOD best cover of this I've seen!! Did this song for my GCSE/NAT5 bass exam this year and it was so fun😭😭 I love how you feel the song with your whole body, which is the only way to listen to this song honestly. The 7' version of this slaps too

This performance was several times mentioned in official channel of Guy Pratt. He made no comments but I think it's near to impossible he did not see that.

Julia, your playthrough is outstanding! Amazing left and right hand work and a masterful demonstration of controlling tone with your fingers. A perfect 10/10, I am blown away. You definitely earned my sub.
Thank you for giving me a new appreciation for this Madonna classic.

Octave pedal and a little chorus with that Fretless Stingray perfectly matches the '80's sound, well done!

She does all the vintage 80s fretless stuff, but also adds plucking and slapping and a bunch of other techniques I've never heard together in those combinations.
