    Thank you very much, I am both a mechanical and architectural drafter, your precise videos help me out a lot because I am still learning about how to present details views with annotations. I am not trying to out anyone down but most people like to post videos about how to draw fancy houses, but fancy houses cant get you permit from the building department, we need more videos like this, God bless

    You can do this by clicking on the "Insert" tab. You will then see where to link an existing (or elements from an existing project)

    Can anybody explain me how in these videos they find directly the piece they want on the annotation library and I must instead search for an hour only to discover that there isn't this piece in my library?

    • @bimtopia
      @bimtopia  7 років тому

      Which family are you looking for? These videos were created in 2011 using try be US Imperial library, and some of the annotation families may have been changed over last 6 annual updates. I might be able to help you find a newer version or an equivalent component.

      Thank you for answering and trying to help.
      No. My question was regarding the fact that in most video everyone seems to know exactly where to search and if or not there is a particular detail. I, on the other hand, I use photos of particulars in order to make my details, but when I must search for something I have first difficulties to find the exact location inside the library, and also I end up not find what looking.
      One recent case was a detail which is used between the two parts of the wall and keeps the insulation between them in place. (but probably is on the Revit 2017) and I use 2016 now. Is there a visual way to see all the details someone has in his library and not have to search them by name only?
      Thank you again for the help, and the videos offcourse.

      I guess these guys already have the library that someone else did before or they have lots of time to search every family and download it then make the specific library containing lots of folders. It is actually all about searching skills. You got to know key words. But once, I had been searching for a revolving door. When I found, it has very different name not related with what the file including. So since then, I have been looking for families with very interesting and silly words and believe me, it is working.

      I dont speak for a door or a window but especially for those small construction parts that one dont even know their names in order to search for them. If there was also a visual help when search on the library, it would be great.
