Hi Lámidé, I hope you are not missing family too much. I am planning on moving to Dubai in a year's time. I currently work as a Project manager and I would like to know what are the easier places to find jobs in Dubai as a foreigner. (Please anyone is free to answer this question too). Thanks 😊
Could you please do a video on culture shock/challenges of moving to Dubai? For example, do you have to dress modestly when going to certain places? I'd love to live there for 2-3 years, but I'm quite worried about women's rights issues. Like, you can go to jail if you're r*ped, as sex outside of marriage is illegal. Would be great to hear from someone who is actually there and not just biased media. If you're not comfortable with talking about these topics no worries, I totally get it. Please keep up the good work and give us a property webinar soon! I really wanted to attend the last one but didn't get a chance, please just do the same content again 😭
You definitely have to be careful about what you read because Western media outlets are incredibly biased with regards to the Gulf for a range of reasons. It's very safe for women here which is a big selling point for people moving over from UK/US as it's normal to walk around by yourself even late at night and feel safe. As for any cases of sexual assault, sex offenders are heavily punished often with life sentences under UAE law. Definitely visit and you'll get to see it for yourself and get a feel of the place, in my experience clothing, women's rights etc. are not an issue at all in contrast to the narrative propagated in the West :)
Clothes is not an issue and many laws have recently been changed and update. A lot of countries have things which are against the law on paper but the law is not enforced and a lot of times this is the case in the UAE as well. As a woman you can walk around on your own at any time of day or night and feel 100% safe. This can not be said for so many places in the world.
Very interesting! Definitely looking forward to the rest of the series and seeing eventually which unit you choose (I loved the very first one as well 😊)
One more video and i will pack my bags to Dubai🤣
That is me right now 🤣🤣🤣

Everyone looking at these apartments and thinking

Hey Lamide, I was wondering if housing allowance is generally given by all Dubai employers or if it depends on the size of the company?
