- More of the Te Araroa trail on New Zealand's south island! We're hitchhiking our way into Arthur’s Pass for a quick snack before diving back into the wilderness to climb up to Goat Pass Hut and down Deception River. 🚗🍫
In this episode:
- We enjoy the rugged beauty and welcoming shelter of Goat Pass Hut, where we recharge for the challenges ahead. 🏞️🛖
- Navigate the slippery rocks of Deception River in the rain, making for a memorable and wet adventure. 🌧️🏞️
- After a soggy day, we find warmth and comfort in another cozy hut, reminding us of the small joys of trail life. 🔥💧
- The adventure ramps up as we cross numerous rivers and tackle our first-ever three-wire bridge, testing our balance and nerve. 🌊🌉
- Through it all, we keep our spirits high with games and a healthy dose of silliness, proving that the right company makes even the toughest days enjoyable. 🎲😄

Rainy days often end up being the silliest- how do you keep yourself entertained on trail? 😅
I’ve watched all your Hexatrek videos and am up to date with the TA, your videos are absolutely awesome you’re a new entry into my all time top 5 UA-camrs, thank you for the momentary breaks from real life, and keep on kicking butt on the trail.
Thank you so much for watching! That’s sooooo nice to hear :) I’m really glad you’re enjoying the series. Happy trails!
That Goat Pass hut was sooo well maintained! That was not a "hut", it was a literal cabin in the wilderness. Surprisingly, most of those huts look very well maintained, considering how remote many of them are.
Yeah it’s pretty incredible the amount of work that goes into it all. We always make sure to sweep and wipe all the tables and put up the mattresses before we leave. People seem to take pretty good care of them generally.
Enjoyed watching your great hike in beautiful new Zealand 😊😊😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
I bet you walk around with wet socks most of the time!
You had some nice huts to stay in.
The birds overthere look pretty special.
Hard work, walking in the rain and a lot of rocks!
But still very beautyful!
That bridge looked challenging! But a good way to cross the river!
Good going! 😊
Wet socks every day!! 🙃
Wow the trail looks gorgeous 😍. Thanks for sharing
It’s beautiful! Thanks for sharing watching :)
Thanks for including the names of hut and geographic features as it makes it easier to follow along on the TA map. This video was fun with the waterfalls and wildlife.

The Kea are so cool!
Such funny creatures!
And the smartest birds on the planet :)
New Zealand is an avian country, from the Moa to the fantail the Kea the Bellaire the albatross the halk and even a largest falcon extinct
It sure is! They’re very protective of their birds! 🐦
Hope the mice didn’t keep you awake and steal your food in Huranui #3?! 😆
Haha luckily not. I always hang my food in the huts just in case!
Do the Mitford track take bug spray
It’s not on the TA unfortunately:/
Hi, I watched your UA-cam video. Your every video is really awesome. But your channel and your videos expect more views and subs. I analyzing Your UA-cam channel and I found UA-cam video SEO is not done. This is why your video is not going viral and views are not increasing.
