The permissibility of music and musical instruments in Islam is a nuanced topic with a range of scholarly opinions and interpretations. Scholars throughout Islamic history have explored this subject extensively, and respected views exist on both sides of the discussion. 1. The Hadith in Video: The hadith often cited by those who view music as impermissible is found in Sahih Al-Bukhari #5590. However, this hadith is classified as "mu'allaq" (attached without a complete chain of narration), meaning it doesn't meet the rigorous standards that Imam al-Bukhari applied to the core hadiths in his collection. Scholars such as Imam al-Muhallab have indicated that Bukhari himself might have exercised caution regarding its authenticity. Moreover, narrators like Hisham bin Ammar have faced scrutiny from scholars like Imam al-Thahabi due to concerns about reliability, as Hisham was reportedly inconsistent in his narration. 2. Practices of the Companions: Historical records show that some Companions, such as Abdullah bin al-Zubair, allowed certain forms of music and instrumental accompaniment. Ibrahim bin Sa’d, for instance, is reported to have listened to music with instruments like the lute. While these examples are known, they remain subjects of debate regarding context and broader interpretation. 3. Scholarly Opinions: Numerous prominent scholars, including Imam al-Ghazali, Imam al-Shawkani, and Sultan al-Ulema al-Izz ibn Abdul-Salam, have argued that music, when morally upright, is permissible. Their writings emphasize that music itself is not inherently forbidden but can vary in judgment depending on the intentions behind it, the context, and the content. 4. Biblical Precedents: Some scholars highlight references to music in religious worship in the Bible, especially in connection with Prophet Dawud (David), as a sign of its potentially positive nature. This perspective suggests that morally uplifting music, which avoids forbidden messages, can be permissible. In the end, if someone chooses to follow a perspective that deems music haram or halal, it is their choice, based on their understanding and the guidance of trusted scholars. What unites Muslims beyond these differences is the understanding that the Quran remains the best guidance in all matters. It serves as the ultimate source, offering wisdom and clarity to navigate such topics with respect and balance.

I just posted a video about this topic the other day, it was an Arabic video of a very creative guy and he gave precise evidences from Quran and Sunnah
yay, now i have excuse to not studying music in my school and i never really intrested in music (Unfortunately, this is a mandatory subject at my school)
Bro read the quranic verses in arabic these english translation are not accurate sourt el nour in arabic commands people to not call the prophet as they call each other because they used to call him muhamed ibn el kasem and not prophet of allah amd in the rest of the verse allah says that whoever disobeys his orders may fall in misguidance or endure painful torment
I don't understand why are some people sooo obsessed with music that they are ready to take a risk of doing haram. Why are you so obsessed? Just leave it, you are not gonna di*e.Life is much peaceful without music. I was a music addict too, but I haven't intentionally listened to music for about an year. My life took a 180 degree turn in this year, I developed khushu in prayer, isn't that the best thing? Isn't it worth it to leave this so called “part of your life" to gain much more in the afterlife?

The ruling on music in Islam is debated among scholars, with different views: 1. Music is haram: Some scholars base this on hadiths that warn against musical instruments, like the one that says people will make music and other forbidden things seem permissible. 2. Music is halal: Other scholars say there's no clear evidence in the Qur'an or hadith that all music is forbidden. They believe it depends on the content and how it affects a person's faith. 3. Middle-ground: Some scholars say music is fine as long as the lyrics are good and it doesn't distract from religious duties. In the end, it’s up to each person to decide based on what feels right for them, while keeping their faith in mind.
This is incorrect. The individual doesn’t have ilm to make his own decisions on issues of fiqh. There is a difference of opinion but in this case theres a majority opinion that’s more authentic and the ulema will tell u this
@TheAlphaZone316 I understand and respect the importance of following scholars in matters of fiqh. However, since there’s a known difference of opinion on this issue, it shows it’s not completely settled. While the majority may lean one way, respected scholars have other views as well. It’s important to seek knowledge, consult scholars, and follow the opinion that feels right without straying from the core principles of Islam.
@@DarwinDO_Offical nah i was (and still am) a jahil when i was uploading. But to give personal attacks while im genuinely trying to correct u so people don’t see this and fall into misguidance that u could be held accountable for isnt the adaab of a muslim

For games, almost all games with music you can turn it off, so just keep your headphones out of your ears or keep your volume down until you can find it in settings and turn the music off. For videos with music in the background, I’m not sure, so I would recommend seeking scholarly opinions.
Hey brother Saad, im a video edittor. Can I use background music that doesnt have lyrics? I cant find good halal nasheeds for my video (Fifa/Football videos)
Im geniunely confused by both this, and drawing being haram, because why?,the argument for the latter is especially weak, "it mimics how Allah made life", no it doesnt how do you know Allah picked up a pen and paper and started drawing?, but the one for music i can understand, so much music is filled with haram things like Sex, drugs, and murder, but its simply way too catchy to actually realize, i especially know that because i been listening to foreign phonk a lot lately, and literally all of the lyrics of the songs are about sex or drugs, i will try to find another, cleaner genre eventually inshallah.
Just so you know, music can actually change water. Your body is made up of water. So watch qhat you listen to. About the drawings, most of the sources are from hadith. I don't want to speak because of lack of knowledge but it seems to be that the issue is creating like Allah did, believing you can create like he can, living creates etc. You're not creating anything if you're drawing lmao
@@Lovergirl2466 I agree with you, drawing ≠ creating a creature, but rather if you think about it drawing is just a bunch of lines and colors which is not how a creature is made, also drawing (traditional art or digital art) is 2D, and a soul cannot enter a 2 dimensional being, and even if it did, organs would not work or would not be even there in the first place so the drawing can't come to life, while I still agree with those who say that making statues is haram (because they are 3D, and all the living creatures who Allah puts a soul in are 3 dimension I would like to give a small advice: please don't write "lmao" as it means "laugh my @$$ off"
This video is not unbiased, you basically only gave the reasons why music IS haram (I agree that it is, but why are u trying to paint it as if you are giving a fair chance when you're not?)
Well he was being unbiased. It’s just so clear that music is haram, what are you gonna do, blame the Prophet ﷺ? It’s like making a video on whether or not alcohol is haram and trying to make it unbiased.
I tried to include the actual solid arguments against music being haram so that's where the 'unbiased' comes from, but my answer is the same as @Paqcar, as in, too much evidence for music being haram to say otherwise :/
@@SaadtheMuzlimYou said one thing wrong. Only Abu Hanifa declared music haram. Ibn Hanbal statement was a little bit complicated and Imam Shafi and Malik said it’s Makrooh. You showed even a text where imam Shafi says that it’s makrooh. Also many early Quran interpreters said that muta is halal including ibn Abbas who was chosen to interpret the Quran. Sorry, but we can’t form our statement only based on their interpretations.
Can u do a video on women’s awrah? Whether face covering is mandatory? Is feet part of the awrah inside and out of namaz? Can women show themselves on social media platforms, provided that her content is resourceful? Also about women working in mixed places (halal jobs obvs)
Read the quran for yourself, it just says for women to cover their private parts and show what's apparent thereof which changes depending on ur culture
Through my research I concluded that There is a difference of opinion upon Face covering, one of the arguments to face covering is that at the time of the prophet all women used to face cover The argument that its not mandatory is that the prophet once saw aisha’s sister and told her to wear the hijab and not show except her face and hands From this hadith they concluded that face covering isn’t mandatory
About the women showing themselves on social media, sheikhs say on social media the woman should make it a bit tougher and not to talk like how a woman would talk to another girl (you know the squeaky voices) And some of them say its better to cover the face because unlike real life, on social media weak men know that no one is looking so they wouldn’t lower their gaze, so to avoid fitnah cover the face when on social media and don’t in real life
O you who believe, what is wrong with you that when it is said to you, “Come out in the way of Allah,” you turn heavy (and cling) to the ground. Have you become happy with the worldly life instead of the Hereafter? So, (remember that) the enjoyment of the worldly life is but trivial in (comparison with) the Hereafter.
@Edward-bm7vw you were always there, you can’t remember though, same as you can’t remeber how you were when you were 1 years old, life meomories usually being at 5, in Islam though I heard Allah (Exalted is He) created the souls before the bodies, and they would meet one another.
This really highlights the ignorance of Islam and it's very cult-like manipulation of people's behaviors. Music is one of the most harmless things out there and has demonstrated to be beneficial to people in basically every aspect. It's like making books haram except Quran. It's an attempt to keep people away from other view points or outside perspectives. If there's any proofs that Islam is 100% FALSE - this is it. To say that music is bad is so demonstrably false it isn't even funny. There's no justification for it without heavy, heavy cherry picking.
I understand that music which includes swear words, both genders exposing awrah, one that encourages freemixing and drinking alcohol, hard and rough beat musix is haram (And promoting other sins aswell. But what abt wat i consider chill ones like 'resonance' and 'memory reboot'. Like it's just calming. Assalamualaikum! One thing I noticed was that after quitting music, my mind became much less polluted and more clear, whereas previously, the dopamine from listening to music all the time kinda numbed me a bit and didn't really let me properly think. If ur interested, you should watch Andrew Huber mans podcast on dopamine (its on youtube!) It really helped me understand the science behind music, and made me realise that the scholars weren't just playing apologetics xD Jazakallah for the thoughtful comment.
Does that make playing video games or watching videos (movies, anime, youtube) also haram keep in mind I don't seek listening to music while playing them. Please answer and thanks !
Aoa and Sorry for the late reply! The background music in those vidoes or movies is totally haram (ik, this news hits like a truck but it is what it is). Either way, anime and movies are a total waste of time regardless, so you should slowly phase them out of your life (if you are in that life), and maybe limit them to maybe an episode every other day or a movie a month. Quitting youtube seems impossible tho😭, still try to watch only usefull stuff and not waste time, if that's the best we can do :') Hope this helps!
How about songs or musics without voice's? are those haram? bec songs are Musics but without the voice lets say like a video game theme are those haram?
i don't understand... does the opinions of the scholars changed time to time and place ? Cause here one of the methods of spreading islam is by MUSIC. i think this is a regional debate
although it's heavily debated, i do believe that music is permitted in some cases and to some limitations, and from what i've known, this does not cost you a sin, at least from my country's perspective since the cultural difference is just too much
Could u give some example of islam spread by music? Thank u very much brother. And all these videos on music being haram seem to only focus on mainstream music
@@pawnita-g5p yes, in indonesia here, music is part of our culture and the wali songo ( they were like the first imams ) spreads islam through peace, they spread it by mixing the local cultures and islamic teachings, for example the gamelan ( a musical instrument ) and the local ceremonies. And even the government supports music now so i think that the most logical take would be the modern scholar's opinion.

wait the counter arguement 3 on 3:55 the jam-e-tirmidhi 3690 is not a counter argument FOR music being halal as if you actually read it it tells a story about a girl who asked the prophet if she can play some type of instrument called a duff in front of him and sing and he said yes. BUT if you continue reading the first 4 khalifs come in one by one but when umar comes she stops playing. And the prophet said that THE SAITIAN was afraid of you umar which implies that the girl is shaitan or posses by it which is completely an arguement AGAINST music being halal XD
Music is haram, but playing videogames isn't haram. Music is haram, but playing sports isn't haram. Music is haram, but taking pictures and videos isn't haram. Music is haram, but listening to podcasts isn't haram. Music is haram, but making jokes isn't haram. Music is haram, but reading a non-islamic book isn't haram. All of these things may not benefit us on the day of judgement but saying they are haram is completely not what Islam promotes. Subhanallah brother! that you found 1 interpretation of the Quran out of DOZENS that proves your point. This same scholar believed that a woman showing 2 eyes was haram! All those poor companions of the prophet that owned flutes and other musical instruments who didn't know about the correct interpretation? May Allah have mercy on them. Congratulations... I could write an essay about Bukhari but just because people were listening to music while doing haram things in their drinking party like drinking alcohol doesn't make it haram in itself. Association does not mean that they themselves were condemned. I can understand deriving the ruling that music with sex, alcohol, drugs is haram but music in itself? not so much. Also, the wearing of silk is permissible for women :) Islam is a religion that has rulings that are in the middle and not extreme. For example we can't gamble but we can still play games and have fun. In fact I'd argue that singing is 100 times worse than just instruments, but it is what it is.
I hate how music is so widespread to the point it's virtually impossible to avoid it. Wouldn't this make tv shows, movies and videogames that have soundtracks haram?

Music: Haram or Halal? A Complex Issue
The question of whether music is haram (forbidden) or halal (permissible) in Islam is a complex one with no definitive, universally agreed-upon answer.
Different Perspectives
There are primarily two main perspectives on this issue:
* Music is inherently haram: This view is held by a significant portion of Islamic scholars, who base their opinion on certain hadiths (sayings and actions of Prophet Muhammad) that seem to prohibit musical instruments and singing.
* Music is permissible with conditions: Other scholars argue that music itself is not inherently haram, but its permissibility depends on factors such as the content, the intent, and the impact of the music.
Key Factors to Consider
* Content: Music with lyrics that promote immorality, violence, or other sinful behaviors is generally considered haram by most scholars.
* Intent: The intention behind listening to music is important. If it is for entertainment or relaxation, it might be considered permissible by some scholars.
* Impact: Music that distracts one from religious duties or leads to sinful actions is generally considered problematic.

Bigger problem is that music is litterally everywhere, so you can't always escape from the trap
I try to not listen to music intentionally but it's so hard when everyone around u is blasting it and stuff TvT
The problem is that it's inescapable, even one without technology CAN'T escape music
Keep giving excuses
@@jammy3912 well you may not listen to music cuz maybe mashallah you are a pious muslim but you should know that some of us our trying to not listen to music too... its not that easy. and we are just stating facts, music is everywhere and its hard to escape it, but that does mean we're saying that this is why we're listening to music. we are trying to distance ourselves from it, and we;re just stating why its difficult. you shouldnt assume bad of ur muslim brothers and sisters, yk.
The ruling on music in Islam is debated among scholars, with different views:

@@Lovergirl2466 I agree with you, drawing ≠ creating a creature, but rather if you think about it drawing is just a bunch of lines and colors which is not how a creature is made, also drawing (traditional art or digital art) is 2D, and a soul cannot enter a 2 dimensional being, and even if it did, organs would not work or would not be even there in the first place so the drawing can't come to life, while I still agree with those who say that making statues is haram (because they are 3D, and all the living creatures who Allah puts a soul in are 3 dimension
I would like to give a small advice: please don't write "lmao" as it means "laugh my @$$ off"

This video is not unbiased, you basically only gave the reasons why music IS haram (I agree that it is, but why are u trying to paint it as if you are giving a fair chance when you're not?)
should he have given reasons why it shoudlnt be haram?
Well he was being unbiased. It’s just so clear that music is haram, what are you gonna do, blame the Prophet ﷺ?
It’s like making a video on whether or not alcohol is haram and trying to make it unbiased.
I tried to include the actual solid arguments against music being haram so that's where the 'unbiased' comes from, but my answer is the same as @Paqcar, as in, too much evidence for music being haram to say otherwise :/

Can u do a video on women’s awrah? Whether face covering is mandatory? Is feet part of the awrah inside and out of namaz? Can women show themselves on social media platforms, provided that her content is resourceful? Also about women working in mixed places (halal jobs obvs)
Read the quran for yourself, it just says for women to cover their private parts and show what's apparent thereof which changes depending on ur culture
you can get answers of this just by googling
Through my research I concluded that
There is a difference of opinion upon Face covering, one of the arguments to face covering is that at the time of the prophet all women used to face cover
The argument that its not mandatory is that the prophet once saw aisha’s sister and told her to wear the hijab and not show except her face and hands
From this hadith they concluded that face covering isn’t mandatory
About the women showing themselves on social media, sheikhs say on social media the woman should make it a bit tougher and not to talk like how a woman would talk to another girl (you know the squeaky voices)
And some of them say its better to cover the face because unlike real life, on social media weak men know that no one is looking so they wouldn’t lower their gaze, so to avoid fitnah cover the face when on social media and don’t in real life

The background music in those vidoes or movies is totally haram (ik, this news hits like a truck but it is what it is).

wait the counter arguement 3 on 3:55 the jam-e-tirmidhi 3690 is not a counter argument FOR music being halal as if you actually read it it tells a story about a girl who asked the prophet if she can play some type of instrument called a duff in front of him and sing and he said yes. BUT if you continue reading the first 4 khalifs come in one by one but when umar comes she stops playing.
Also, the wearing of silk is permissible for women :)
Islam is a religion that has rulings that are in the middle and not extreme. For example we can't gamble but we can still play games and have fun. In fact I'd argue that singing is 100 times worse than just instruments, but it is what it is.
