I love Babeegreens wool diaper covers! I'm excited to try their fitted diapers with our third baby, expected in February. Thanks for spreading awareness of natural fiber cloth diapers! 💜 Heidi
Aw, I am so happy to watch a video from you, even though I am past and done with nappy days. Your videos make me happy. Welcome to the Mama club. You are rocking it babe!!!
Love this! I'll have to check out this brand. Also in case you're curious, you have to wash them multiple times before using them for the first time to get the natural oils out of the fibers. It's basically the opposite of lanolizing your wool outers 😊
Ah this couldn’t have come at a better time! We’ve been spending the last few weeks looking into cloth and have felt quite overwhelmed! Would love to know some of your other low waste baby- related recommendations in a future video.
We do a prewash, a main wash with detergent and borax, and an extra rinse. Then we hang dry when possible, and after taking them down we throw them in the dryer for 20 minutes no heat, just to get a little air back into the fibers. We bought 36 diapers and 3 overnight (fitted) diapers which are hemp/cotton. The latter are EcoAble, as those were the more affordable. We use PUL covers, mainly because I didn't know wool covers existed at the time :/at some point I want to try knitting covers.
If you find fabrics are stiff after air drying, you can pop them in the tumble dryer for 10 mins or so when they’re dry, and they’ll be lovely and soft again. Definitely more eco friendly than tumble drying them all the way.
Great content as usual Kate, great information and simple, how nice. Please could you do a video outlining your eco friendly, minimal baby essentials, me & my husband at currently trying for baby & I would love to hear your opinion on these things. Thank you!!
Thank you for such a lovely video! I'm going to be a granny for the first time (still feel too young).. My daughter's due end Dec... And I've decided to make most of her nappies! Probably crazy! We have a few 'pocket type' pul.... But I absolutely love yours.... Lucky that you can get locally... We're in South Africa and delivery costs are astronomical.... But thanks for all the input... Thoroughly enjoyed your video!
Ive seen the babee greens before but never tried them. They actually remind me a lot of the motherease with the fold down. I couldnt afford to buy the babee greens though plus were going to have two in diapers next year so need even more than we would with one baby. We use mostly esembly now and used prefolds in the first several months on a preemie.
Congrats Kate!!! So happy you are raising your beautiful baby in a healthy eco home! 👶🏼🌱🌎 Love the cloth diapers! I cringe when I see people take their poo filled disposable diapers AND wrap them in a Plastic bag before throwing in the trash! Super double No No!! 😣
Hi Kate, the video is an inspiration, thank you! Would be great to know if you decide to sell your Babee greens bundle as we’re currently looking to buy them, too 😊
Just a hint with the underwear type when you start toilet training you want the kids to feel wet so they learn the uncomfortable feeling even when they go to preschool etc
I actually use cloth nappies as over night menstrual pads! I don't know what material they use but they work better and they are softer than anything I've tried doing myself.
@@janinedear-barlow I don't see why I wouldn't. They work better than anything I've tried before, store-bought or hand-sewn. They are prefolds and not shaped like a baby's nappy if it can help you feel better.
Also.. what a geek, my babies are long out of nappies but I still couldn’t resist watching this 😂 brought back lots if memories.. I do wish I had stuck with my stash now.. I quit after 11 months because I got pregnant again... I was like you, I did NOT like being pregnant/labour or having a newborn.. I was quite low and just couldn’t deal with the bag of stinky nappies coming home from nursery.. all seems mad now... but that’s early parenthood (for me at least)... just had to do what I had to do to survive!!! Can’t imagine life without my second boy now and the baby bit is a dim and distant memory!

Pad fold for flats is super duper easy, it’s a good one to use if you don’t feel up to nappy origami.

I've been waiting for this!! 💜
My stash is quite the same as yours. I love wool!

You can also look up elimination communication, for an early potty training, that way you dont need to buy so many nappies

I also never had a change table just changed my son's on the floor. Didn't have to worry about them rolling which happened to friends

Loved your video. Is it possible for you to do an absorbency test?
I have used mine with both my children; not all the time but overall, I have saved hundreds of disposables and possibly, hundreds of pounds as well.
What do feet there smell like?
I never thought of washed clothes smelling like feet.
Why did you change your channel @Anglophenia to ECO BOOST?

Tu acento😍
"hello, i'm Kate and this is... anglophenia" miss it so much.
"Quite excited to use these, it gave me a little..." eco boost??
This comment is wildly underappreciated

You wear baby's nappies???...

@@Coccinelf I was imagining pocket nappies.
