- I've been seeing your messages & comments of concern for LM7, and I dug in a bit to investigate.
LM7 is not at death's door, but yes - s/he is having a bit of a struggle. LM7 is 5 days behind his/her siblings, and that is significant. LM7 is also sharing a nest with some bonking siblings. LM5 seems to be doing most of it, I believe - but honestly, I've seen all three get a bonk or two in on the others. LM7 is obviously smaller than its siblings, and if things get a bit tense on the nest, LM7 is obviously not in a great position.
With that said, LM7 DOES get food. Not as much as we'd like, and probably not quite as much as s/he really needs, especially at this stage. It's not an optimal situation for the little one, but we can't count him/her out yet. I was very impressed with this little one from the very start, and I do seem them as a smart, clever, strong-willed eaglet. This video is a good one to watch if you're worried about our little champ. It not only shows LM7 eating, but it shows the smart strategies LM7 employs to get that feeding. When you're the youngest, you have your place in the pecking order, and LM7 is smart enough to see (and seize) their opportunities. This is skill-building that firstborns often lack, so when our younger eaglets do make it, they are often in a great position to start their new lives strong, smart, and ready for the challenges they face.
Just don't count LM7 out yet. It's a tough life for an eagle, and a bit of a tougher life for a third-born eaglet... but they DO make it.

If 7 makes it he’ll be the strongest eagle out of the three.
🙏🐣🤞
Love this little one praying
I love this little guy!! Cute and fiesty! He/she is determined to get fed and doesn’t give up easily! Thanks for the wonderful video!! I’ll be cheering for this little one! You go littie #7 ❤️
Praying LM7 stays away from sibs & they stop the bonks. Praying 4 good weather, tons of food 4 nest & many extra feedings 4 LM7. 2 days ago, its foot got stuck in sticks but only a few seconds & worried about size difference & squishing. Always pulling 4 underdog🙏
I'm a lifelong underdog fan, and LM7 is probably my favorite little eaglet of the season. I was impressed with this one the moment s/he hatched.
Thank you! It was a joy to see 7 eat so much.
I'm rooting for you, LM7!!! You got this! Thanks for the video showing our cute little peanut.
You can do it LM7! And it's true what you say the youngest seem to be better adapted once they have fledged the nest.
Wanted to make update as I'm the mod at this nest, LM7, this morning 4-18, has had food at both the feedings so far this morning as of 10am💪little peanut! Currently 7 has a very full crop & looks like s/he grew overnight!!❤ Thanks as always to WingofWhimsy for another wonderful video!! Come check out our wonderful eagle family!! Cheers to all❤🦅
Thanks so much Jeni! I appreciate you endlessly. I know so many are pulling for our little champ. You know I was beyond impressed with him/her from the get-go & I believe that little peanut has what it takes to overcome the situation. S/he's got it rough, but we can see the gears turning as s/he figures out their way. No one can make any promises, but we can keep hope strong.
Thank you for the uplifting update and your service at this nest. It's much appreciated 🙏
Thanks for the kind words!🤗 And you're welcome
I hope LM7 will manage to prevail against his siblings and survive ❤
A lil beauty!! 💕
Thanks! ❤️🙏🐥
This trio is not well behaved like Thunder's. These three are constantly bonking especially the youngest one.🙏🐣🐣🐣
These parents breed aggressive chicks. Thunder doesn't.
That's an interesting comment. This is my first full season of nest watching. Do certain parents make their chicks behave aggressively by withholding food? I know that Frances at Bluff City eats the majority of the food and refused to hunt while she had 2 eaglets. This led to siblicide of the youngest. After that, she started feeding the remaining eaglet like crazy.
You are brave and so loved LM7! Sending you prayers, love, strength & hope💚
Love our little 7❤
I always try not to play favorites - or at least not to reveal my favorites LOL - but the cat's out of the bag now that LM7 is my favorite eaglet of the season... possibly tied with WE3 at West End. I have a thing for the little peanuts.
Please. 🙏🏼This little one looks sickly.
Remember they said Meadow was under weight yet he/she looked quite healthy to us.
Meadow didn't look healthy 😂 We saw how little it hot to eat! 7 won't survive in this nest, these parents breed aggressive chicks
We shall see.
I agree. Meadow never got good food, always the tail end--literay--which has poor nutrients. If 7 survives, it will be because we prayed.
06:44 Praying for 7 night and day!❤
🙏LM7🙏
Hope he makes it he's so tiny and petite And his head keeps falling
❤🐥🥰😍
I hope the little one makes it, he is a fighter ❤
Truth!!
See the little tyke got a good feeding🙏🏻🫶😘❣️
Odds are seriously against the little fellow
Not enough food and these parents breed aggressive chicks
Ziemlich zerzaust, noch so klein und so putzig, werdet ganz schnell stark und gross.
LM7 is 4 days behind the other 2 they were hatcher before s/h, is eating well
It's not eating well!
Sadly is true.
