Good tips and tricks Stan. Yea I myself have learned not to over apply, it gets everywhere. Great for drilling and tapping, thats when I use it the most. Gotta say though, I love the smell of cutting oil!! :)
I've been using anchor lube more and more lately. The other stuff I was using I discovered was giving me a horrible headache. Great info on the discounts. Thanks.
Hi Stan, Great tips for using Anchor Lube! One thing I found out (maybe this is obvious to everyone already) is that with tapping or milling steel, the tool collects more chips than with cutting oil. Not a problem but something you need to keep in mind if you are tapping multiple holes or making multiple passes with an end mill. Thanks for the video! -mike
I purchased 2 - 4" magnetic bowls from Harbor Freight and I found that the lid from a small size margarine container is almost just right to use as a cover. I plan to put anchor lube in the magnetic bowls and keep covered with the margarine container lids.
Thanks for the vid. The more I use Anchor lube, the more I like it. I find myself tapping a lot of cast iron. Just a little on the tap and it is like magic.
Still on the mend - that might take months once I have the surgery done. Still at it though, just a lot slower than before! Thanks for checking in. Sincerely, Tom Z
Hi mate. About the magnetic bowl, the rubber cap at the bottom can be removed very easily, and the swarf will just fall off. don't do what I did, and forget to put it back on, because, than it will take a lot longer to get it clean. Marcel.
I blow mine off with the non-OSHA approved, full pressure blowgun. It even gets the magnet clean. Chips go everywhere though. So only try this where you can sweep up, and protect those eyeballs.
Hi mate. I would never even dream about, doing something as dangerous as that. What would those OSH people say. Most of them, never ever had anything to say in all their live, and now have all that power. This is how Hitler started, remember him?
Thanks Stan. Just bought a 16 oz bottle. I am about to use it on a new lathe chuck fit up. Your timing is perfect. I'll let you know when I post the video. Quality won't be anywhere near as good as yours. Gotta start somewhere, I guess. Thanks, John
Stan, I bought a gallon of it before the tubs were available. I fill a jar (Italian Ice Cream tub) with it. I super glued a strong magnet on the inside of the lid. It holds the brush on top.
I like to dab my band saw blade with AL, it coats the full blade and really aids cutting metals without coolant. I can even saw rebar with AL. Rebar will wipe out a HSS blade in a few cuts...so far blade holds up to rebar with AL.
If you don't need the mag bowl to keep it from falling off your machine, McMaster has some semi-sealed containers that will keep it from drying out overnight or longer. I haven't used the bit I put in there to test for 3 weeks and it still flows. I also had an old twist tube holder that I got with a concrete drill to throw the brush in. It doesn't seal the greatest, but keeps it from drying out too bad.
Was going to buy 15 gallons but still waiting for sample to try it out myself.Seems like a good product..But i think shipping to the uk will be expensive..Agreed there a good company and have spoken with Diana Firth..
Depending on the performance of this product, it has very high appeal to hobbyists especially. A shop inside the home for example....this stuff is not like oil and can be used while making little messes.....so you have some of this spattered around....is it worse than oil in your basement shop, or even your bedroom shop? I think not.... I have a budding mini-machine shop in my basement, and this might be the solution to smoking oils or flooding coolant messes. I'm going to try it myself. Thanks to Stan, we get a discount...
From the looks of the lathe footage, you might want to "anchor" that thing down before it walks away from ya.....Even the chips in the pan were shaking......Oh wait, you're in California.......was that an earthquake??? I figure you guys are so used to them you won't let them interrupt a little machining operation....
Duncan Mac Aww man, I hate to see you go, I always think of you when I am editing, "lemme turn this down to minimum for Duncan" Stop by and say hi from time to time.

Anyone who is sponsored is going to give a mention, and hes trying to give helpful tips on how to properly use the product instead of wasting it. Another benefit to you is you get a discount if you choose to purchase the product. He's not trying to chase sales.
I don't think he's chasing any sales, just a good heads up. Thanks to one of his first vids on this stuff we've found it quite useful in a production setup for a peculiar milling/boring operation. Have been getting it by the gallon from McMaster Carr, $26.86 per gallon.
Hi Stan Love to try Anchor Lube but looks like they only send there samples to the USA. I asked them twice to send me a sample but no replay to date , pity. Love your videos THANX .

I can always use advise on how not to make a mess!
Love the (footpedal?) insta reverse on the drill press VFD. Awesome application.

.....camera doesn't capture well in the "off" mode. LOL!!!!!! Mine has that same problem!
Very helpful tips, Stan. I'll keep that in mind when I get my shop back together.
Thank you!

ILGopher , It would be the same as the tube you showed... I guess I should have waited to the end to comment before.
Maybe already covered but, since this product is water based will it rust whatever comes in contact with it?
Justin Bell If you add water, yes. If not, it just dries like surfboard wax.
stan good info. thank you
I'd buy all you have if it would actually keep my wife from bitching at me!

Shadon HKW thanks having watched various people use and recommend it I think it would be a nice addition to the machine shop.
i really enjoy your videos Stan but I really don't like chasing the mute button more so I have to say adieu, it's been swell.

chasing sales is not the way to go here.
