Seeing Erwan's channel feels like I'm watching a magazine show and at the same time, watching a documentary created by a professional journalist. To add up, the videographer was doing an amazing job with those camera angles. The narration is everything. Everything is perfect. What a channel!
this channel is like netflix, discovery, history and etc.. we don’t deserve this kind of content for free.. that is why i don’t skip ads because it really made me guilty...
Thank you for featuring my province, Tarlac. And it’s your first episode! I can feel how much you love our country since I first watched your travel vlogs. I will surely wait your more episodes!
My mother side of the family is from Bamban, Tarlac, pure kapangpangan. She used to make this on a clay pot with tamarind leaves. I've tried copying her recipe but it's not as good as hers. Yes,Tarlac is very underated.
I ate pinaupong manok in Asturias, Cebu. It was more like a tinola i think, but boiled at least 6 hrs. But the focus of our topic while eating was how my Grandma new we were coming that when we got there the food was ready to serve. Note that we don't have contact with them for years and that trip was just a spur of the moment.
Looking forward to the rest of the series! You always come up with such great videos. Thank you for sharing your love for the Philippines with all your viewers. 💗
I love this new series! Erwan and Team, you guys are the BEST! Showcasing Filipino dishes in all 81 provinces? Brilliant! It’s about time the world see how rich our cuisine is 🇵🇭❤️🤟🏻
I don't know why but I love the gloomy weather when this video was shot. It adds a nostalgic and homey feeling. Mad props to the production! This was filmed and edited so great that it feels like it should be aired in a lifestyle channel.
Suggestion: Try to discover the rustic dish of hito or kanduli, stewed in curry (gata, luyang dilaw or turmeric, shallots, etc), and alagao leaves. That's just a general description. It's a common dish among the provinces of Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, etc. So, expect variations of the same theme, from province to province. However, Pampangos strongly claim the dish originated from them. The usual name of the dish in Pampango is "lagat hitu", or nilagat na hito in Bulacan. But I've seen descriptions on UA-cam like "inadobo sa gata at dahon ng alagao". Alagao, usually used as an herbal medicine, is surprisingly impressive in this particular dish.
Great video, and I look forward to this series. Although I was quite disturbed with the lack of transition between Tarlac city and Lapaz that mad it look as if it was one place.
Yes. I remembered my nanay used to cook Pinaupuang Manok. I would often watch as she would literally have the whole dressed chicken sit on an inverted almeres drenched in salt inside a big kaldero. Super tagal maluto but when its fully cooked, super sarap, meat is so tender, salty yet delicious. Miss my mom's cooking.
Hi Erwan, the pinaupong Manok which i think is older than this recipe is also good. You get to seat the chicken in a lot of salt then cooked in a Palayok. No need to fry it! But this is also a nice take in the recipe.😀
@Erwan Heussaff I was thinking of requesting this dish and I'm surprised to see you have already cooked it. Yay! It seems different from how my Mom used to cook it but it'll be interesting to see how others do it. I'll go watch now!! *I thought you cooked it. I spoke too soon! I hope you can feature Paranaque's Lauya. :)
To FEATR team and producers, I hope that you guys will still see through the 81 provinces project despite the pandemic being an obstacle in 2020. It would be an amazing opportunity for our generation to know more about the culture of the Philippines.

Petition for netflix doc show for erwan
I am loving this idea, yes please, we are not just about adobo. Although, I adore adobo.
Indeed. Filipino regional dishes outside Metro Manila is terribly underrepresented.
Thankful for Erwan who actually tries to have proper representation in our food scene. Props to you!

Yes, some who doesn't use soy sauce. I love meat without soy sauce..without soy sauce malalasahan mo ang real lasa ng chicken.

Even tho i'm Tagalog, i know more foods in Bisaya, Bicolano and Ilokano foods than Tarlac delicacies. Very underrated province.
