FEATR Thank you for featuring our town of Zambales especially Babancal where I was born and grew up for 18 yrs . Your content is really educational. I miss making laruk laruk to tinupak. That is sooo yummy. By the way that's my brother who sings and played the guitar . Proud of him " ca Boden."
Now this is quality content! Thank you for bringing the Philippines' hidden cultures, traditions, and food to the public! I hope that I can see someone at least market and sell these here in Manila.
This is such a beautiful, educational series, especially the cinematography and the narratives of the people you feature. Thanks for sharing with us diaspora babies who can't explore the homeland yet!
Omg! I remembered back then everytime we harvest palay we make pinipig. And we experienced that bayo also. Nakakamiss buhay probinsya, simple life but happy. Thanks Erwan for featuring life like this. Good job❤️❤️❤️
These episodes that showcase our native delicacies are so well-made; these could definitely be used as materials for higher education courses that deal with indigenous traditions and practices. Kudos to the team!
This reminds me of a dish we call bayibayi in iloilo. :) i find it interesting how similar dishes have different names in different parts of the country. And there are also those that (i think) have the same name wherever you go, like adobo. It would be nice to know the origins of the dishes. :)
Yeah me too, it reminded me of bayi bayi, we have the same mortar and pestle like they do (although ours is more than 30 old years old already 😂). Siling ko nagid may Ilonggo gid ya nga makahalata nga daw bayi-bayi ni 😂.
@@soulmate00623 Kada mag petsa minatay ga pa Capiz gid kami kay didto gid nag halin amon family tradition nga pangalagkalag, tig bandihada na ya nga bayi bayi ang gina himo😁.
This shows how life in Philippines was hard yet worth it ❤️❤️❤️. Every hard work and pain comes a bountiful harvest, may we never forget this culture and lets continue to teach every generation how our culture keeps us on thriving.
Proud Zambalenyo here. Thanks for featuring Candelarians. Grew up in Zambales Candelaria. We also have that alsung where you pounded that palay rice to make nilupak and laruk laruk. Watching from California.
I hope Filipinos would look back on their heritage. The Philippines has a very rich culture afterall hayyy Thank you very much Featr! Kudos to the great contents! 🤍
Even b4 1M subs i got hooked to Erwans contents...because the contrast of a Conyo dude but got the most pinoy heritage contents in youtube.... Some even i did not know exist... Specially that Tiyula Itum episode
Mag ganito kami dito yung pangbayo. Grabe nakakamiss . Yung habang pinapanood ko to naaalala ko yung lasa ng pagkain na to. Ughh ang sarap . Thanks for featuring this .. ♡
Nostalgic! I was talking about this delicacy to my friend just few days ago and for us ilonggos we call it Baye-baye. This is a must try when youre visiting panay island and the mais version really taste good too. It amazes me that we call it in different names in different areas of our country but the tradition that we prepare it before ani/harvest ng palay or during all souls day its the same. I have wonderful childhood memories when we prepare this and I look forward to eat this whenever I go home in the Phils..such a great content

Hi Erwan. It's what we call bayi bayi and my mother makes the best of it. She is from Bacolod and they mould it into a "hill" shape. They normally serve it during All Soul's Day. Its super delicious.

Love this video, but I highly suggest making the captions larger and a different color so they're easier to read (or you could upload them separately to YT as an option). It's very difficult to read, currently.
Thank you for featuring truly unknown highly regional dishes. TV shows, documentaries, and others have showcased regional dishes in the past, but they always focus on the familiar ones. Never something like this. You should make a cookbook of these dishes. For preservation if nothing else.
Great video, but please work on the legibility of the subtitles. The yellow is very hard to read a lot of the time. Perhaps add a thin, dark outline (not necessarily black, even a darker yellow would do the trick) to boost legibility. The light and dark contrast should keep things readable on any background. Other than that, great video! I’d never heard of this before. I’ll need to see if I can find it next time I’m in the Philippines. So many things to do, so little time!
This channel really slaps me the fact Philippines has a lot of regional traditional dishes that we should be proud of.
Big yes!
A lot more to find about phillipines sir.
It’s sad how some of these dishes lack the visibility they deserve.
