I can not say THANK YOU enough for videos like this one!! I am on the start of my journey to losing weight as well and have stayed away from amusement parks since the early 2000s because I know I can not fit on anything and it is embarrassing to explain that to people that have no issues. I greatly appreciate your willingness to show us how the test seats work and to get in them yourself. You are literally my hero which makes me feel much calmer when I do decide to go back to an amusement park!!! Thank you a million times over!!!
Just a heads up for bigger people, the Mario Kart ride is definitely fluffy friendly, but those seats will suction you right in if there isnt a ton of space.
Thank you for this video. I went to Universal Orlando about 10 years ago, and just barely fit on everything. Unfortunately I'm even bigger than I was back then and I'm heading to Universal Hollywood for two days later this year and worried I'm not going to fit on anything, especially since my partner is very thin and I don't want to embarrass them or ruin their experience. I know making these videos are probably uncomfortable for you but they really help so thanks again, it's much appreciated.
I had the same problem last year. I’m 6’1” and weigh 290. I could hardly ride most things at universal. Couldn’t go on three attractions because I just didn’t fit
This was a great video. Thank you so much. I've been on what feels like a lifelong journey of weight loss. I can remember moments of anxiety about will I fit on this ride. Not everyone understands that feeling and it can be motivating sometimes, but also sometimes it can be discouraging. Sometimes you're just ashamed, embarrassed. You gotta own the journey and do your best. It sounds silly, but making this video and showing folks what it's like is pretty brave. And also - not a big deal. Try the seat, if you don't fit, don't stress, just keep the journey going and try again at a later date.
You must have been hearing my pleas in my mind to have someone do a test seat review at USH. Thank you so much for this video. My anxiety has been just increasing every day as my trip gets closer, and you have helped my nerves calm down.
Your video popped up and I just have to say thank you for doing this video! I know this will help so many people out there reluctant to try a ride or even go to the Parks because of their size. No one sound have to miss out on the magical and thrilling experiences of Universal Parks and Disney Parks! Thank you again!
Seriously thank you so so so much for doing this. I have shied away from the revenge of the mummy ride for so long because i just was convinced i wouldn't fit. Thank you thank you thank you. Its really an amazing thing you're doing.
Congrats on your weight loss progress! It's such a struggle at times and any visible difference/achievement is so encouraging. You seem so happy about the change; it's wonderful to see. It encourages me on my own weight-loss journey.
its great that you did a video like this to help others. it is very disappointing that a big theme park does not make it easier and more accessible for people of all sizes to enjoy more rides, a lot of people have wider hips or larger thighs cant even enjoy the rides. but at least there is always other parks that have made it easier and more enjoyable to a larger group to be able to enjoy such as disneyland
Well, for some of the more extreme rides it's a safety issue. Larger guests have died before they started getting strict about lap bars going down enough (New Texas Giant, Perilous Plunge, etc.). But for a little dark ride like Secret Lives of Pets? That's just poor design.
Well, I guess that’s my whole point is when they’re going to design a ride you need to keep everyone in mind and design. It may be a little bit sturdier stronger and better than they do.
@@wendykolpack69 The problem is that if you're going to build an extreme coaster with tons of airtime, you may not be able to accommodate people over 300 pounds without making the ride less extreme. Then there goes the appeal of the ride.
I fully disagree with you because a true architect who puts together a Ride knows how to structurally build it. Why is it at Disneyland can accommodate so many people. I’m not saying every single ride may be able to, but majority could. I’ve seen people who are 350 pounds solid muscle very large and still have a hard time fitting into rides so it’s not that it’s gonna be an overweight person.
On Mummy, I don't know if it's like Florida, but here they have an ADA seat on one of the vehicles. The fourth row on all of the carts is bigger, but I still had to wait on the ADA one which is again just slightly bigger than that. On Hippogriff, I have no problem in Florida, but I've heard it is much tighter in Hollywood.
The thing about Universal is that they will not help you get into the ride. Sometimes a person who needs one more click to ride can get there if the ride operator pushes down. I saw a ride op deny another rider help once. When I go on Harry Potter, my wife has to push down to get me that last click. I could never go on it by myself lol It's good that Knott's and Six Flags allows ride ops to help you with a courtesy push.
I was so worried about not being able to fit on forbidden journey and fit on it with no problem. I was so excited! Then I went on the ride and it made me so sick I had to keep my eyes shut the entire time.😢
Thank you, love your video. Started my journey September 2023 at 360lbs 5'7", im at 330lds. My wish is to once again fit on Forbidden Journey, but the waist/stomach is my biggest obstacle. To get a better idea, what is your measurements around your bellybutton and love handles? Mine is 57 inches. I know I still have a way to go. But I know all of us working towards our weight loss goals can achieve them!
Thank you for this video. I currently am 5’2” weight 203 bust size 50 waist 48 and hip 44 and i feel like i may not be able to fit in any rides but it looks like i might.
I’m subscribed to you as well. Definitely use the theme parks as motivation to lose weight. I did!😊 I wanna ride the rides; not wait for my kids to go through the ride lines and tell me how cool the rides are.
I’m 5’5 275 pounds and I fit in all rides some alittle less comfortable I feel if you weigh around the same as me but alittle taller then you’ll be good or if you weigh alittle less then you’ll be fine
Forbidden Journey is a difficult one to fit on. I went to Universal CA in 2019 and I was about 273 (I’m 5’2) and I fit but barely.. My Nieces’s husband had to give the bar a push and I was uncomfortable. In 2022 I went to Universal Orlando and I was about 234 at that time and I was able to fit with absolutely no problem at all. I was back in Universal CA last month and I didn’t even try it.. I’m back up to 275 and I just knew I wasn’t gonna fit. UGH.. I did however fit on Revenge of the Mummy last month in CA. I had to sit in a certain row (I can’t remember what row number) and outside seat because it was bigger. I was a little big uncomfortable and got a small bruise on my thigh from it but rode it twice because I absolutely love that ride!!!
I’ve never not fit in a ride but it’s been close. The worst for me ever was ET. The thing on the bicycle was so tight I felt like I was going to vomit. I don’t like I was that big either.
I want to help who ever is out there struggling to lose weight. Challenge yourself to eat 3 times a day at a 500 calorie deficit. What that means is a 500 calorie deficit from the calories needed to maintain your weight from your height and weight. What i ate when i did it is lots of grilled chicken, rice, veggies, eggs, rice cakes, fruits, fruit shakes etc. No red meats, bread, cheese, juice etc. Meal prep like 2 days a week and drink half a gallon to a gallon of water a day to curb your hunger. Try to drink a glass of water before every meal as well. Also, try to get around 6-8000 steps a day, if you fail your steps that day it won't matter as long as you keep your diet strong. Try it and try to hold out for atleast a month and i guarantee you will see a massive change especially if you are a bigger person because they lose weight a lot quicker given the right diet choices. I just wanted to encourage some of you with an actual answer to what to do to get after it.
The restraints on PETS is so over the top, it's no faster then Haunted Mansion and considering The Mummy is a high Speed Ride and yet you fit on that just proves it.
I’m 320 but 6”4 do you think I could still ride revenge of the mummy. I noticed the bar looked tight over your knee/thigh area and you said you were 5”5
Was it more your belly or upper chest that was getting in the way for Forbidden Journey? I can easily see some women that aren’t even overweight struggling due to their bust. And I’m curious because I’m a little taller than you and around the same weight
You called it for me as a woman. I’m top heavy and Forbidden Journey is a no go for me. Yes I can still get on, but crushed boobs and having a hard time breathing during the ride isn’t fun. I started exercising and dieting last year, and I’ve lost weight and a cup size in my boobs. Hopefully when I visit this summer, I won’t have that problem! Universal has motivated me to lose weight, lower my blood sugar levels, and feel good about myself!😊
@@ThemeParkExpress hmmm yeah that ride is the one I'm most nervous about because I was able to ride no problem in 2017/18 in Orlando and Hollywood respectively but that was before I gained about 20 lbs during the pandemic lockdowns and haven't been able to shed much of that since yet. I wear a 2xl shirt at work (that's the largest we have but I can get it on), but for tee shirts I'm somewhere between 2-3x depending on if it runs small. I really hope I'm able to ride Forbidden Journey as that is easily my favorite ride at Universal and the primary reason I'm tacking on a day for Universal at on. Part of me thought about putting it at the end of my trip in the hopes that all the walking at Disneyland for 5.5 days would slim me down a bit, but I decided to have Universal be day 2 of the trip so that if I can't ride it, it won't be the last memory of the trip.
I'm actually happy that I had to start my weight lose journey. The Mrs & I had a day pass from a friend, and we couldn't get on any rides except for mario. It was in December 2023. Even though you're not eating as much, you still talk about food constantly. Without ED treatment, you will gain it all back if you stop the medication. Keep it up!!
I’ve done the walk of shame a number of times from forbidden journey when I was heavier. Nothing worse than then turning the track off and making and announcement to get off. You’ll get there man and it’ll be epic, such a great ride. Also if you think universal is rough on seat sizes you should see knotts . Literally some of the tiniest seats ever
This makes me feel a tad better! I think height is also a struggle in some things too. I know you are tall! I’m a littl fluffy and 6’2 so it makes it hard.
The secret life of pets is not fluffy friendly im 5'5 275 and cant still get a greenlight, also on this ride they dont allow someone to push the restraint down , as opposed to Harry potter whete they allow a member of my party to click the restraint down
the idea of "fat friendly" is silly enough on its own (i say this as a fat guy). but at rides if you think about it, the test seats are in essence fat friendly because the seats themselves with restraints are designed and in some cases over desgined to keep guests safe. so if we bigger guys cant fit then its for the best as the park is keeping us from serious injury or death and keeping themselves from lawsuit. and if nothing else i would say these test seats to show someone like you did with the first ride, just how close a few more pounds of weight loss will bring them to enjoying the rides. and i encourage anyone reading this who is also on the heavy side to work for a goal of weight loss, i manages it in my 20s despite gaining it back and im wanting it off again, and when you do lose the weight you love the way you feel and the way you look. coupled with theme park rides all open up to you.
During our previous visit in June, the secret life of pets was the ONLY attraction on our tour we didn't get to experience due to size restrictions.... They do have a ADA car though if your in a wheel chair.
I’m very proud of you! I just went to universal Hollywood! Not to many videos about Hollywood! I unfortunately could not fit on mummy and had to do the walk of Shame. I was so close though! It’s just so frustrating. I felt very secure in the clicks I did make. The life of pets is a joke! Universal needs to do better couldn’t ride 4 out of the 10 or 12 rides there. I was so happy I could do Mario though!!!
The fact that The Secret Life of Pets ride has a test seat is beyond ridiculous.

The secret life of pets is not fluffy friendly im 5'5 275 and cant still get a greenlight, also on this ride they dont allow someone to push the restraint down , as opposed to Harry potter whete they allow a member of my party to click the restraint down
just to note for any woman with a larger chest: hogsmeade HURTS don’t push it if you don’t have to
11:31 Forbidden Journey is tough for muscular folks as well. Surprisingly, the thighs prevent a lot of people from fitting.
Omg! I hear Peter! I thought I saw Kitra. This is really helpful! Thank you!
the idea of "fat friendly" is silly enough on its own (i say this as a fat guy). but at rides if you think about it, the test seats are in essence fat friendly because the seats themselves with restraints are designed and in some cases over desgined to keep guests safe. so if we bigger guys cant fit then its for the best as the park is keeping us from serious injury or death and keeping themselves from lawsuit.
and if nothing else i would say these test seats to show someone like you did with the first ride, just how close a few more pounds of weight loss will bring them to enjoying the rides. and i encourage anyone reading this who is also on the heavy side to work for a goal of weight loss, i manages it in my 20s despite gaining it back and im wanting it off again, and when you do lose the weight you love the way you feel and the way you look. coupled with theme park rides all open up to you.
I was so close to Mario kart, but it's okay....
This video was helpful 👍
THANK YOU for doing these type of videos!! ❤
He said in the video that he is 5'5, and in another video, I believe he indicated that his waist is 42 inches, not counting the belly.
Thank you so much for this video. We plus size people love the information you provide for us😊
Secret life is the only ride I can’t fit. I wonder why it’s like that for a slow moving ride?
