- Опубліковано 17 тра 2024
- The city of Bergen is located along the southwestern coast of Norway. Surrounded by mountains and fjords, it’s a haven for nature and outdoor enthusiasts. But as a UNESCO World Heritage City, Bergen also combines history, culture, and an interesting urban life. This charming city might have a small-town feel, but it has tons of entertaining activities to offer. In this video, we break down our 6 favorite things to do in and around Bergen.
😴 WHERE TO STAY IN BERGEN:
- Barfot Apartments (budget option with kitchen in center of town): www.booking.com/hotel/no/barf...

6. Try the local food
Norwegian culture is highly influenced by fishing and this is also visible in their cuisine. Visit Bergen’s fish market at the waterfront and you’ll see merchants selling their fresh catch of the day as they have for centuries. Other dishes Norwegians are proud of is “boller” (sweet buns) and “Pølse” (Norwegian hot dogs).
5. Visit a museum on a rainy day
Bergen has many interesting museums that you can visit, such as the Norway Fisheries Museum, the Lepra museum, and the Bergen University Museum of Natural History.

4. Day hike to highest peak in Bergen municipality
Sitting between various mountains, Bergen naturally has plenty of great hiking terrain. At 987 meters tall, Gullfjellet is the highest peak in Bergen municipality and a classic for local hikers.
3. Bryggen & the Hanseatic Museum
Bryggen is one of Bergen's most iconic and popular attractions. With its vibrant atmosphere, you will find plenty of things to do. You can stroll through the narrow, crooked alleyways, grab a local beer at one of the many cafés, and learn about its historic importance at the Hanseatic Museum. A free guided tour is included when visiting the museum, during which you get to know more about the Hanseatic merchants and their daily life at Bryggen.
☑️ Book your visit to the museum: hanseatiskemuseum.museumvest.no/
2. Hike one of the 7 peaks
Bergen is surrounded by seven peaks, and you can hike them all! The most popular ones are Mount Fløyen and Mount Ulriken, which are easily accessible by foot or bus from the city center. Both are short but steep hikes of a few kilometers each, offering spectacular views of the city, the fjord, and the ocean from the top. There is a cable car to Ulriken and a railway to Fløyen if you don't want to hike.
1. Fjord Cruise
Norway is known for its fjords, and so is Bergen. If this is your first time in Norway, make sure to go on a day tour of the fjords. Bergen offers a wide variety of guided tours, with Mostraumen being the most popular and accessible one. During a 3 hour cruise, you will see the varied western Norway fjord landscapes, consisting of steep cliffs and waterfalls. You eventually reach the Mostraumen Strait and the tiny village of Mo!

Glad it was helpful! have a great trip there!
Amazing..
Thanks! 😊
I'd love to travel to Norway some day....
Bergen especially.....it seems more my vibe than Oslo.
And.....if I'm lucky, maybe I'll spot an Aurora in her natural habitat!
Huge huge fan of her music....and honestly only know about Bergen through her.
Bergen has more to do in terms of outdoors than Oslo! It’s more mountainous and rugged 😄
wow amazing 👏 LIKE
Thank you!
Nice
You got lucky with the weather it seems!
I’m dying to go back to Norway and visit Bergen as well as the north part esp Lofoten and Svalbard! I only wished you showed more… I’m not into hiking but I would def do the last hike you did the view is impressive Thank you 🙏🏼
Sabrina🇫🇷🇬🇧
We were in the Bergen area for about 2 weeks so we explored it whenever the weather was great 😉 definitely had a great amount of rainy and cloudy days! We also just visited northern Norway for 2 weeks and will be creating some videos about that soon as well 😄 you should definitely visit again if you can!! 🤩
@@worldwildhearts thank you I can’t wait for your next vlog! Can you tell me which time of year you visited and also did you get Airbnb or stayed in hotel? If you have any recommendations? Cheers,Take care
Sabrina
We just left Norway yesterday! We were in Norway for a total of 4 weeks 😄 In Bergen we stayed with our friends who live there. I can imagine there are many cute Airbnb’s in the city 😍 in the north we stayed in a mix of hotels and our tent to save some costs. The hotels were a bit pricy but very comfy and great service (about 100-140€ per night for a double room). We usually find our places via booking.com as they seem to have the best deals! 😁
@@worldwildhearts thank you for this… I had booked a trip in 2020 going to Bergen and yes hotels in Bergen were esp pricey . Woow a month there how lucky I can’t wait to see next vlog! Can’t wait to go back soon
Take care
Sabrina🇫🇷🇬🇧

Planning a trip been going back and forth from oslo and bergen my fiance is a city bostonian if that helps
What time of year did you visit? My boyfriend and I so want to go to Bergen but can’t decide what time of year to visit
We visited at the end of July. Summer is definitely the better time to visit, but the weather is always unpredictable
bagus sekali ! matur suksma
terima kasih!
have been living outside of bergen for 16 years now but never been a tourist guy in bergen. only visited bryggen ulriken and fløyen. damn i should do more!
Get out there! Some very cool things to see in your area ☺️
Did you have to register your drone to fly in Norway?
Yes we did! We needed to register it T Flydrone.no
😊💕
Vakker ♥️
Takk!
👍
When to visit bergen, winter or summer
We’d say summer as you can do more hiking and it’s easier to travel on land! But winter can be magical too
What is a good family friendly hike?
Mount Fløyen or Mount Ulriken would be a good choice! It can be a bit steep but many parents with kids do it and it’s right near the center
Thank you for toning down your American accent for the narration instead of sounding like you got some huge dentures on as well as pronouncing the local names close enough to the how they sound.
Travel to Bardu in norway next time
would love to explore more of Norway!
🇧🇲bergen
Skyrim but remake in 4k.
City of edvard grieg
Most people cannot do a 6 hour hike, so best to not include those in videos. The cable car and such was good though
It's a prime area for hikers though! Glad you enjoyed the cable car 😁
Where do you live where most people can't do a 6 hour hike I wonder.
"It's a young vibrant city" 😂 Bergen is 1000 years old
Young as in the atmosphere, lots of students thanks to the university. Didn’t mean in the sense of when it was established
Hold up? Bergen is a yung city? The city have existed inn over 950 years in another 50 years or so it Will bee a 1000 years old, but yes shure menny of the suburbes that fall under Bergen's jurestiction are in deed fearly New
With young we mean a lot of young people who live there! Lots of students giving it a young, vibrant vibe 😄
Norway❤️🏞️
It's beautiful!
Vete pe blej selim emini cele fshati syt deri 2000 shpija paguj 500000 evra
Cheap? 7,5eur for a shirty sausage ahahahaha
Compared to any other food in Norway it is 🤣
Norway is pretty expensive, it annoys us norwegians as well. For cheaper alternatives you should go for asian food like Thai or Chinese, many of those resturants in Bergen and the prices are pretty decent and the food is usuallly very good.
Where is the big mountains all i see is ugly houses
I may be the only "Bergenser" in existence who actually hates my hometown.. Horrible place for horrible people.
Pølse er ikke godt
Jesus Christ is the Only Way to salvation.
Don’t you forget.
Here's a tip for you - do not, ever, film anybody eating food. Especially a hotdog. It looks disgusting and makes people cringe. Film the food before it's eaten, that looks professional and cringe-free.
All I can say about this comment is - WTF?
What a bell end comment
lol. Looked fine to me
man chill its not that bad
boring nature, just plain Zzzzzzz
