It's actually completely justified that Imotep would think Evey was the reincarnation of his girlfriend when you consider the fact that he got his eyes from a man with VERY bad eyesight.
Thank you for reviewing this film. Have to say it has really surprised me just how well it has stood up over the years. The effects are really good, and the writing is still as funny and cheesy as ever. This film is a great way to spend an afternoon on the sofa
"Well well well, let me guess, spring cleaning!" LMAO😂I never get tired of that one-liner lol! awesome, you reacted to one of my all time favorite movies growing up! I remember seeing this in the theatre back in 1999, and I loved it! I loved it so much that today, I have the entire movie memorized word for word, and I have the complete soundtrack on my Ipod lol! it was thanks to this movie I, for a time, studied a bit of Egyptology and learned a lot! one thing you might not realize is that most of these characters and locations are based on real life, there was an Imhotep who IRL was the designer for building the Pyramid! there was a princess named Anck-su-namun, although IRL her name is spelled Ankhesenamun, but it's pronounced the same, she was eventually the royal wife of King Tutankhamun (King Tut)! there was a Pharaoh named Seti the first as mentioned in the prologue of the movie, and there was an Egyptian city called Thebes! another fun fact, the name Imhotep was first used in the 1932 Universal classic "The Mummy" staring Boris Karloff, I recommend you watch it during spooky season, it's my favorite of the Universal Classics! this film is technically a remake of that, just more adventure, action, and fun like Indiana Jones, because this is the second time the mummy went by the name Imhotep, all other mummies in other films have been either named Klaris or Karas, same with his girlfriend, usually named Anaka in other films, excluding King Rooten Tooten and his wife Queen Hotsy Totsy from The Three Stooges LOL😂 BTW, I liked how you said "she Three Stooged him" that was rich lol! really enjoyed this reaction, I hope you watch the second and third films, they're great! on a side note, I'm still looking forward to your reaction to LOTR The Two Towers and The Return of the King! take care and see ya next time 😁😉👍
Guess how many takes were needed to get the bookshelves to topple over like dominoes. One. They got it perfect the first time. They had a stuntman (in women's clothes) on the ladder. All he had to do was get the first one going. The camera followed the bookshelves, and at the appropriate time, Rachel Weiss, who was positioned just below the camera, merely had to rise into frame.
Interesting thing Kay I've ridden on a camel back when I was little in the zoo where I live and it's like riding a horse but it's very wobbling cuz you ride on the hump of the camel.🐪🐫
That juicy mummy looks delicious, like beef jerky. I saw this when it came out, the special effects blew everyone away, they don't look too shabby today. I can't say the same for the sequel... ...O'Connell...
You're quitre right Kay. If the Pharoah's chattel woman has just said "This gold paint itches so I rubbed my arm, and it's probably giving me heavy metal poisoning too!" It would have saved all this trouble.
It is a Classic. It's a very tongue and cheek action/adventure movie but I loved it and The Mummy Returns (2001). Brendan Frasier should've been at least nominated for an Oscar for this one, but I do wish him a successful Comeback after his Oscar win for The Whale (2022). For the record, while I am a realist, I still like to explore historical legends, myths, curses, and paranormal activities. So #Kayreacts, you could say I do believe in curses only if the facts and science prove it logical. Such as shadow people/black-eyed children, moving objects, and different species of animals. That's the whole adventure of exploring.
Great choice. I just spent two weeks in Egypt in November. Visited Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor. The art direction in the movie is actually fairly accurate in design and size. The opening fight scene looks as though it could have been filmed at Karnak.
@@jonahthebutterbeerdrinker4166 The ruins of the main library are long gone. However, I did visit the Serapeum, which had an underground annex to the library. It was one of the coolest places I visited. The entire temple was in ruins, but you could still go into the underground labyrinth. Most of the walls were lined with carved out book shelves, and if you made it to the end you could reach the temple's holy of holies. I think its the closest I've ever been to an actual D&D adventure setting.
I like this movie. In fact I like all three of the Fraser mummy movies, even if the third one isn't as popular. Maybe it's because Rachel Weiss didn't return; they recast her part. Given #3 is really about their grown son in China, the change didn't bother me. BTW, #3 is based on the real life buried terra Cotta army.
3 was OK. The only problem with me with that one is that I thought it was a little too short, and Jet Li didn't get much screentime like Arnold Vosvol, who plays Imonopet both 1 and 2 got alot more screentime and was lot more cunning than The Emperor in 3.
Great reaction. Egypt is one of the countries on my bucket list. Now you have to watch the sequels. If you don't, all the plagues of Egypt will be loosed upon the world.
Great movie. About demons, curses, etc, I believe at this point, anything is possible. I've also been thinking how cool it would be to see Imhotep go up against Moon Knight
I've said it before and I will always say it with both pride and confidence: The Mummy AND The Mummy Returns are both better than The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor. I LOVE the chemistry between Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz (love Maria Bello, but her faked accent left everything to be desired) and while I LOVE Jet Li, Arnold Vosloo plays a villainous ancient corpse way better. To answer your question, horses are faster than camels, but camels have more endurance and are better adapted to life in the desert. They can live off of the fat reserves in their humps (they do eventually need to eat and drink), long eyelashes to keep blowing sand out of their eyes and their feet better spread their body weight so they don't sink into deep sand when they're walking around or running. And let's not forget their defense mechanism: spitting. Fun fact: The locusts that were crawling all over the Egyptologist were actually grasshoppers that were refrigerated to make them sluggish.
Honestly, I was scared of that bug crawling inside that man as well. I watched it as a kid and I don't know if that scene was the reason why I hate insects but yea I still hate insects.
G'day Kay , You asked if people believe in Ghost's 👻 I do I was one for a while as a kid I had several open heart ♥ operations on the second on I was about 5 I remember being wheeled in get the needle in going under several hours later I remember flying around the wards of the hospital 🏥 looking down at everything & everyone , anyway Kay good reaction video thank you
I believe in shadow people btw. Seen plenty throughout my life. I believe I started seen them back when I had dreams about me flying. The dreams would end with me coming back to my bed and I would find me sleeping. Eventually I would come back go it and I could see people staring at me sleep before I came back. Ever since I stopped having dreams about flying I stopped seen them.
This is not a personal shot at all as I've seen a ton of reactors doing this lately, and that's kind of the point. Why are so many doing movies they've already seen before? There's literally something like a a half million films to choose from. Even just to limit it to Brendan Fraser he's got over 70. I just don't get it.
The reactors probably all use the same demographic analysis service, or something closely similar. Basically the utility suggests movies that are popular. Haven't you noticed that one person watches (say) The Green Mile, then a dozen others react to it as well. Now, Kay is not slavishly devoted to that; in fact one of the reasons I like her is her eclectic selection, like Marx Brothers movies, and The New Girl. With Fraser, his greatest hits include the mummy trilogy & George of the Jungle (which I still love). Given the Star Wars poster on her wall, I would love to see Boba Fett and The Mandalorian season 3, and her reaction to the new Ahsoka trailer. The deep fans are squeeing over that one. 😏
@Caseytify , well said. I say let creators and reactors do their thing. So what if reactors already see the movies? The whole idea of reacting is about community and the different reactions that people have when watching. One movie I would suggest for Kayreacts that she probably did have seen would have been Forrest Grump (1994). Everyone has already known that move, but it's almost 30 years old. A lot of people can't remember. Or for Kay's birth year: Mrs. Doubtfire, Carlos Way, Jack the Bear.
It's actually completely justified that Imotep would think Evey was the reincarnation of his girlfriend when you consider the fact that he got his eyes from a man with VERY bad eyesight.
I didn't even think about that😂😂😂😂
That's funny, right there.
Thank you for reviewing this film.

The effects are really good, and the writing is still as funny and cheesy as ever.

It also helped that the two women resembled each other just a bit.

Fun Fact the mummy movies have been around for over 90 years With the boris Karlov movie of 1932 the most memorable .

I've always wanted to go Egypt. BTW, Kay just posted some new LOTR reactions and some updates on the community tab for this channel. Take care
Kay, One of your best! You get a special commendation for your spirited pronunciation of "exposition."
Benny and O'Connell love/hate dynamic
George of the jungle dealing with Mummies 😆
😂😂😂

Yay oh yeah my favorite Brendan Fraser movie, I really enjoying your reaction to Mummies Kay !!!🤎 hope you watch next 2 and 3 Mummies soon.
For Brendan Fraser, Blast from the Past is great. Highly recommend doing a reaction.
Great reaction. Egypt is one of the countries on my bucket list.
Now you have to watch the sequels. If you don't, all the plagues of Egypt will be loosed upon the world.
They tried "remaking" this movie, starring Tom Cruise. It did not go well.
Great movie. About demons, curses, etc, I believe at this point, anything is possible. I've also been thinking how cool it would be to see Imhotep go up against Moon Knight
I was at Luxor, but it was in Vegas.😏😅
I love this movie. So much fun. Also, please watch the comedy Clerks.

It’s a pulp, they’re generally movies and books that are a lot of fun but definitely not high art. Indiana Jones is in the same vein.
You should watch thirteen ghost
